Old thread just about finished. Here is a new one... Fx for lots of well earned BFPs for those ttc over forty. We also welcome stories from those who have successfully had their babies over forty and we love hearing back from our graduates.

Grin Blondes! DH wishes it sucked!!! Wink Unfortunately we live over an hour from the clinic, so it's going to have to be him and 'Debbie loves Dallas' I think! A friend of mine was horrified to find that the only 'materials' available were a sticky old Women's Own with Dawn French on the cover!!! DH has taken heed and plans to take his iPad with some select downloads! We laugh, but it must be really awkward for them, mustn't it?!

No need to apologise ababs. If we can't explore our feelings about this kind of stuff here, where can we?

Regarding boobs Grin I read about side-pain being a progesterone surge thing too. I first noticed it a lot when I got pregnant in May, but I also had it last month and it meant sweet F.A. so I don't know. Mine get sore all over just before ov, so maybe that's an estrogen thing...?

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/08/2016 20:38

Prob a bit weird for the men but tbh they have it easy compared to us and injections - dildo cam - many men (and always seems to be men who egg collect and transfer) looking - prodding and hands up my fanny - with a huge torch on their head

Wish I could just have a wank by myself

AmandaJL41 · 23/08/2016 08:14

I see your point Blondes, although by the time you've had a baby, there's not much left to be daunted by! I've got a smear test tomorrow. Used to hate them, but having had a membrane sweep at 41 weeks, I think I'll be fine.... Shock

Mowly75 · 23/08/2016 09:12

Hi everyone! Thanks for the support. And good luck to all of you. Cracked & took the test anyway, BFN of course. AF turned up this morning. Relief at least from my awful, emotional PMT – but we have just moved- into a house that is basically falling apart so that might explain it. Talk about making it difficult for ourselves.

And so it begins again...

Starlumiere · 23/08/2016 09:41

Bless you Mowly...yes and so it begins again...

Next month surely Smile...

AmandaJL41 · 23/08/2016 11:22

Sorry Mowly Flowers

Sorry also Star - only just spotted your update in the midst of this very busy thread! Crazy what our bodies can do, eh? Fingers crossed for next month Smile

ababsurdum · 23/08/2016 22:17

Sorry Mowly75, wishing you better luck this cycle.

Bloopbleep · 24/08/2016 10:21

Sorry to hear af arrived mowly but new house means new rooms to be tested!!!

I have a horrible stitch today. Pre mc it only happened when I was pregnant but now it happens every month. I wouldn't mind if the cramping gave me the curves and six pack I deserve.

ababsurdum · 28/08/2016 08:07

How is everyone doing?

I'm 6dpo today, still too early for anything. This time last year I had just got pg, hoping vainly for the same this year...

Bloopbleep · 28/08/2016 10:16

Ababs- my fingers are crossed its your month.

I'm about 8/9 dpo and feeling like af is about to come at any time. I don't have any hope this month as wasn't actively trying and only dtd twice (wtf is wrong with my oh's libido?) I had hoped taking the pressure off would've meant more sex but it means the opposite and then in my mind it's his mouldy old or dead swimmers that are being released as according to him he rarely masturbates. Ugh. It's not even something I can talk to him about without him flying off the handle.

At what point do I give up and resign to the fact it's never going to happen?

ababsurdum · 28/08/2016 11:19

Bloop dtd after AF and before you start ttc in earnest should help flush out the 'mouldy old or dead swimmers' (that cracked me up!). Hopefully the witch stays away for you.

AmandaJL41 · 28/08/2016 11:22

Good luck ababs

Don't give up Bloop. You never know - it only takes one little swimmer to get there. Sorry your OH has lost his mojo Sad

Just got a solid smiley on my clear blue Opk this morning, so we've got another few days of trying before the tww madness kicks in Confused

Keeping my fingers crossed for us all xxx

Bloopbleep · 28/08/2016 11:29

Ababs - I ordered him to go pleasure himself often. He got a boyish giggle and went red so I'm sure the message was received. ;)

Happy bonking Amanda (I know I shouldn't use such a term but the childish part of me giggles at it)

AmandaJL41 · 28/08/2016 12:28

GrinWink Bet that was an order he was happy to comply with! Grin

Bloopbleep · 28/08/2016 19:21

It's not something he does very often. I don't know why, I've never met any other men who don't do it regularly.

AmandaJL41 · 29/08/2016 19:36

Quick question. Anyone feel absolutely rubbish around ovulation time?

I don't know if I got this before but put it down to other things, but since I started tracking my cycle I've noticed it. Got my clear blue fixed smiley yesterday morning. Today I woke up bloated, no appetite, felt queasy all day and (TMI) 2 lots of diarrhoea with sharp stomach cramps. Feels like a bug, but I've had this virtually every O-day since January.

Not exactly how I want to feel for baby making Blush

Bloopbleep · 29/08/2016 21:52

I sometimes get like that but not the diarrhoea - I get nausea and dizziness and a bit meh for a day or so then two days of agonising pelvic ache afterwards. That said - same happens if I don't ovulate so think my body just hates me. It's ok tho, I'm not too keen on it either these days.

ababsurdum · 29/08/2016 21:56

Amanda I get the bloating but that's all. My boobs were really sore this month too though not much now so not looking good for the tww. I'm 7dpo today.

AmandaJL41 · 29/08/2016 23:50

Thanks ladies. Pregnancy hormones often give me the runs rather than the usual constipation, so I guess it's how my body reacts the the fluctuations. Luckily it doesn't last too long. Bloop, a couple of days??? That's rough. ababs you never know - little eggy might not even have finished wandering about yet. Keeping my fingers crossed for you xx

Bloopbleep · 30/08/2016 13:40

Amanda - yeah I've had investigations but they said I just have idiopathic pelvic pain. I can be put into temp menopause for a few months if I want but it's almost guaranteed to return when the treatment stops. So I decided against that and to learn to embrace it :/

Anyhoo I went into mamas and papas to buy a gift for a friend's newborn and made a right tit of myself by bursting into tears and walking out. It reminded me that I should've been having a baby myself about now. Thought I was over that but it seems not. What a tit I am!

Starlumiere · 30/08/2016 14:34

Bloop you are not a tit bless you [flowers}. Be kind to yourself. You can do this sweetie!

Yeah well last cycle I had so much gas it was embarrassing to go to meetings! I am currently in my fertility week and taking it easy. It is exhausting to worry and analyze everything all the time!

Good luck everybody! Flowers Halo Smile

AmandaJL41 · 30/08/2016 18:41

Bloop, bit like me and my 'teenage' acne - I've decided to find it charming and at least take it as a sign that I've still got some hormones floating around.

No, I agree, you're not a tit at all. If you are, I am, because I'm like that virtually every day since my son died. I cry in the car because he's not behind me. I cry walking down the street because he's not in his buggy in front of me. I cry in the shower because I shouldn't be able to have a shower in the middle of the day. I couldn't even go into Mamas & Papas right now. Just Sainsburys is hard enough. It's been nearly 10 months but it doesn't get any easier. It's ok to feel sad when you've suffered loss. To me it's a bigger problem to suppress it - it just comes back to bite you if you do. Flowers
