Old thread just about finished. Here is a new one... Fx for lots of well earned BFPs for those ttc over forty. We also welcome stories from those who have successfully had their babies over forty and we love hearing back from our graduates.

Amanda - yes I know, I just want this so much that I am starting to pay attention to what is different. I know better, but I can't help it! We will see Smile. Sorry for AF showing sweetie....next month hey?

Ababs - actually today I feel much better, but then again I am staying off food! I am so embarrassed at the thought of passing wind that I am eating the strict minimum. Good diet Grin.

Bloop - that's unfair! Can't you get hold of somebody? LOL LOL I laughed at your post! Well we will see, I still have another 5 days to wait!

Tata for now everybody!

AmandaJL41 · 15/08/2016 20:10

I understand Star. That's why I started my checklist, so I can feel a bubbly womb or whatever and curb my enthusiasm by reading that actually I get that every month anyway! It's saving me a fortune on pregnancy tests! A friend of mine got so worked up in the tww that she made herself sick, and then convinced herself it was morning sickness! It's a form of insanity, I'm sure! Hopefully for you it's not though - keep us posted!

Bloop, how rude of them. Hope you get hold of them soon. Enjoy what little bit of recreational bonking you can! I've forgotten what that's like..... These days I automatically put a pillow under my bum and lay there like a beached whale for 20 minutes afterwards. Sexy eh?

IAteSomeofthePies · 15/08/2016 23:20

Hope you get the wind under control, Star. Like Bloop, by that measure I have been pregnant for my whole life!

Amanda sorry about AF. Bah.

Bloop hope you hear back soon.

In my only successful pregnancy I had no symptoms, had what I thought was a lighter period, and only worked out I was pregnant 3 weeks later when I felt absolutely dreadful and shattered and took a test just in case.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/08/2016 10:46

ababsurdum · 16/08/2016 11:23

Many congratulations Blondeshavemorefun, that's fantastic news! You must be so thrilled, what an ordeal to get there though. There's a 40+ pregnancy thread if you felt like joining them, feel free to keep posting here too though.

Starlumiere have a good trip.

I am cd8 today, must dtd tonight. I just remembered I only have one opk, must order some more plus some more ubiquinol.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/08/2016 12:27

Thank you. Still don't believe it tbh

I did have a look but can't find the preg over 40.

I started one in pregnancy

Can someone link. Thank you

Can I blame blonde and baby brain ?

ababsurdum · 16/08/2016 13:24

Here it is, looks like no body has posted for a few days so it's a bit of a way down.

You'd better believe it Grin

Winniecymru · 16/08/2016 14:30

Congratulations blondeshavemorefun! Xxxx

Winniecymru · 16/08/2016 14:34

PS I blame most things on baby brain!!!!
You must be ecstatic after ttc for so long. Friends of ours went through years of IVF and succeeded on the fifth try too. They now have a healthy 8 year old.

AmandaJL41 · 16/08/2016 17:36

Massive congrats Blondeshavemorefun! Stories like yours are so wonderful to hear, and give me a real injection of hope Smile Wishing you a happy healthy pregnancy x

Bloopbleep · 16/08/2016 19:31

Congratulations blondeshavemorefun

Bloopbleep · 16/08/2016 22:38

On a completely unrelated note I had wanted to change my name As blooming and bleeping is so dull but someone here already has my choice. I won't say what that name was but now I need something new, clever and witty. /mind goes blank/

If I manage to think of something I'll be sure to let you all know so you don't think I'm a a bit odd with a familiar story.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/08/2016 22:43

Thank you all. I'm on my phone but will tomorrow go on lappy and read all
Your posts /history

But yes I hope my story gives some hope to some on here

We only kept going as last 2 including this one was a fet and have 2 left in freezer and DF and I said we would go till all gone regardless of cost and then if used all would be 8 tries tho 10 embroys back as no way could have not used the frozen ones as would have always wondered what if .....

Tho has been a total head and mind fuck and I described it on my FB as emotional and mental and physical rollarcoaster - let alone a financial one

This baby's has cost £27k !!!!

But worth every penny but each failure you think why keep throwing /burning money for nothing - as sure some of you can understand xx

ababsurdum · 18/08/2016 13:35

Blondeshavemorefun many people would have (understandably) given up long ago, you must be so happy that you didn't. I wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy.

I'm on cd10 today and started using opk's this morning. My last cycle was only 24 days, who knows what this month will bring!

Is anyone due to test?

lousylear · 18/08/2016 13:53

Cd 24 so testing every morning now!

ababsurdum · 18/08/2016 20:05

Fingers crossed for a bfp soon then!

IAteSomeofthePies · 18/08/2016 20:38

Wow Blondes! Congratulations, that is wonderful after all your time trying. Lol (in an aghast sort of way) at this baby costing £27k. I guess they don't get cheaper as they age, either!

Good luck with the tests, Lousy and good luck getting some solid sperm delivery efforts in there, ababs!

I also hope you think of a good new handle, bloop. As you will see from my own, I didn't find that easy, either.

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/08/2016 10:52

I've read all your posts. I'm so sorry some of you have had a child and sadly they died. And sorry for those who have got preg then had a mc - both are awful

Dhea. I was told to take to up my eggs at 1st chat. Tests after and was always told I had good eggs for a bird my age - tho have no idea is dhea helped or not

Had 2 ivf in uk then went to Madrid. Cheaper there and so much more professional and they got lucky 3rd time - 2nd fet

Some of you talk about biopsys. I had one. Called era. It showed that I needed an extra day hormones as lining wasn't quite right

Not sure if made any difference but following fet took tho we actually did a 30 day cycle instead of 20 as was away on holiday so just kept taking same dose mediation of 6g progynova and 800mg of cyclogest

Know some of you are thinking about donor eggs but may feel baby isn't your own. I know several couples who used donor eggs and they could not love their babies more

I've always said nurture not nature and doesn't matter if the egg isn't you're - you will be growing that baby and will be dh sperm. That baby will be yours !!!!

Hope I am not opening a can of worms by saying this but those who adopt don't feel the child isn't yours

If we had used up my embroys and all failed DF and I spoke about donor eggs and we would have tried

TwinklyMusic · 19/08/2016 12:50

Just popping in to say hi and welcome to newbies.

Amanda I think you asked about quality of JASON shampoo etc. I didn't think they were great and will now try the other products mentioned here. The shower gel is better and the pump body moisturisers are very handy (and v cheap!).

Good luck to all who are dtd-ing around now. ababs - this could be your month!

I'm in tww. Or more like 'however many days it is this month' wait. Not quite as catchy...Wink

OP posts:
IAteSomeofthePies · 19/08/2016 13:19

Twinkly two to four week wait? I'm right there with you. I hope it's our month.

ababsurdum · 20/08/2016 10:32

Ha Twinkly I tell myself that every month. I could already technically be pregnant if I conceive this month! Faith in Nature coconut definitely worth a try. Best of luck for the tww.

I'm cd12 today. A decent amount of ewcm yesterday and dtd again too. Opk lines not strong yet so hopefully I'm not going to ovulate early this month, I usually ovulate on cd15.

AmandaJL41 · 20/08/2016 12:16

Good luck ababs - really hope this is your month Smile

Any news lousylear?

Blondes - I totally agree. We have already made the decision to use donor eggs if our first few tries don't succeed. I know I'll be completely in love and devoted to my baby, regardless of where the original little blob of DNA came from. After that first scan, and that first kick, how could you not feel a maternal bond with the life inside you? Tbh, if someone left a baby on my doorstep, I'd be the happiest woman on earth! The yearning that I have for my son is overwhelming. Someone once described grief as 'love with nowhere to go'. Having another child will give me a little bit of that back. I know it's different for me as my circumstances are more extreme than most, so I'm sure donor eggs must be a more difficult decision for other couples. I won't let my geriatric eggs hold me back from being a mum again though! Smile

Good luck to everyone dtd or in the madness of the tww (or three or four!) Keeping my fingers crossed for some more success stories!

I'm on cd5 having just had a really heavy AF. Second AF since the D&C so I think my body is still bouncing back. Planning to baby-make hubby's brains out from mid-week onwards Wink

lousylear · 20/08/2016 16:46

Not testing now til mon as away in the middle of nowhere with dp. Boobs are killing though. FX.

ababsurdum · 20/08/2016 19:02

Amanda I would absolutely use donor eggs if I had no existing children. Already having a ds I just worry that I might treat them differently, even unconsciously, and that scares me. I think it's definitely worth another chat with dh about it though (he previously said that wasn't what he wanted).

Lousylear fingers crossed for you. Have a great weekend.
