Stuffing my self with naughty food until I go to slimming world tonight

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 07/03/2007 19:58

Stop press - get the calendar out and mark this on it: Roskva went to the coffee shop that does fantastic cakes and had...... one latte!!!! That is all, nothing else! See, I'm thinking of those jeans .

How was slimming world, Cedar?

Ready · 08/03/2007 11:49

Doing very well aren't we all!! Pats on the back. I was naughty yesterday in that I forgot to eat lunch!! How is that possible?? I had shepherds pie and broccoli for tea, nice and hearty.

cedar12 · 08/03/2007 12:48

Didnt end up going to slimming worldGoing to keep on trying on my own for a bit. Dh has promised to stop hitting the biscuits in evening. My main problem is my wobbley tummy but when ever I try to do sit up etc it give me a bad neck. Any one got any ideas for any good exercises. I have bought some weights for when I go running which I hope might burn a few more calories.

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 08/03/2007 20:08

I can't do conventional sit ups either, for the same reason. I did find pilates really helped. I ought to go and dig my book out... I used to go to clases, and it is something that you need some sessions with an instructor to understand what you are doing (doing? trying to do!). Well, I needed some instruction, anyway!

Ready · 08/03/2007 20:11

Have you tried bum lifts? It's on Davina's workout... Lay on floor. Legs straight up in the air. Then you lift your bottom up off the floor, then slowly lowering it. And lift, and lower, and lift, and lower It's a killer

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 08/03/2007 20:54

Eeeek! Sounds painful!

Ready · 08/03/2007 21:00

It is... but your neck shouldn't hurt

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 08/03/2007 21:03

Sadist! What was the Lilia dvd like, btw?

Ready · 08/03/2007 21:07

I'm enjoying it, but it's harder to learn the steps than I thought/hoped. That Lilia is not as good a teacher as she is a dancer!! She doesn't go through the basics slow enough for me, and I have to keep skipping back.

I will stick with it though, I just know it'll take time to perfect!! It is good in that you don't feel like you are working out, just learning a dance, then you realise you are developing a bead or two of sweat and have started to breath a bit heavier

Ready · 08/03/2007 21:08

breathe

Ready · 08/03/2007 21:09

So far Salsa and Jive are my favourites.

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 08/03/2007 21:11

That actually sounds fun!

cedar12 · 09/03/2007 15:33

Bum lifts sound painful enough to produce some results so try and give them a go thanks.
I have been really good since tuesday but had to have a bit of chocolate today feeling really tired and needed the energy
Been awake most of last night and wednesday night dd has got a horrid cold, then just to top it off climbing on some bars outside sainsburys and fell off and smacked her head.

Ready · 09/03/2007 16:21

The dancing is fun Roskva - try it!!

Cedar Try the bum lifts, go for the burn Aaw bless DD. Poor love.

I have been quite (stress, quite, not tremedously, just quite) good this week. I have had snack and treats, but have drastically reduced portion sizes of meals. And I still end up full, so I must have been packing it in with the bigger portions. My thing is I hate to leave food on my plate... must be from as a child would get in trouble if didn't clean my plate. It's a good lesson to remember if I am lucky enough to have children (PLEASE!!!) that I don't make food an issue!

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 09/03/2007 19:36

I know what you mean about not liking to leave food on the plate, Ready. My mum had a brilliant idea in that respect - use smaller plates, so your eyes think that you are eating as much. I've not been that good - too many snacks. But I suppose the toasted tea cake I had was better than the gooey creamy thing dh had!

I hope your dd is better, Cedar. A bash on the head is always worrying.

cedar12 · 12/03/2007 09:44

Thanks dd much better now and at playschool hooray!
I have lost 1 1/2 lbs since last wednesday and feeling very pleased with my self
I have discovered the weight watcher puddings i had the sticky toffee pudding great if you need a good suger rush.

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 12/03/2007 13:51

I'm the same as last week, so my splurge earlier has obviously caught up with my hips

I was going to go swimming until I realised I don't have a swimsuit

Ready · 15/03/2007 14:27

I've been really busy!! Sorry ladies. Keeping busy has helped with the naughty treats... today I haven't been half as busy and I have had a few too many things to eat!! It's so annoying!! I don't feel well either, and that always makes me want to snack. tut.

Roskva M&S do lovely swimsuits, or at least they did when I got mine last year. I had always swum on holiday, in a bikini, and then we stayed in a hotel with a pool last year, and thought it would be odd to swim in a bikini so went out and got a suit.

Cedar Well done on the loss!! Good on you. Weight watchers do some really good treats don't they!!

cedar12 · 16/03/2007 09:55

Weighed myself again today 11stone 4lb and have just looked back through the thread and I was 11stone 7lb on the 11 feb. So 3lb in a bit over a month slow but at least its going in the right direction.
Already confessed to ready last night but I had sausages last night they were lovely sainsburys taste the difference I would reccomend them. With mash mixed with leeks (fried in butter!) and spinage. The butter not so good but 2 servings of veg, good for me I am more of a fruit person.

cedar12 · 16/03/2007 09:56

What has everyone else lost all together.

Ready · 16/03/2007 17:53

Cedar It's better to lose weight slower, it is more likely to stay off!
I haven't weighed myself for 2 weeks now so I don't know how much I have lost in total. But it won't be a lot! I lost and then gained, lost, stuck, gained... so it's been pretty pathetic.
We are going home to see family and friends in just under 3 months, so I have the incentive!! I have started a food journal, counting weightwatchers points, so fingers crossed I should start to see some results!

And I am getting good at the salsa

Ready · 16/03/2007 17:59

Roskva - You are very quiet? Hope everything is ok???

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 16/03/2007 18:57

Hi there, I'm still here! I've had a slightly mad week, which has ended with a broken down washing machine with a load of dirty nappies stuck in it, yeuccckkk! Why did it have to be the nappies and not the duvet cover???

Taking into account discovering I'm 3lbs lighter in the bathroom, I think I've lost 7lbs, so I'm feeling quite pleased with myself. I'll be even more pleased when I can get into those jeans!

I'm psyching myself up for a swimming cossie shopping trip. It has to be a one-piece - there are too many wobbly bits in the middle for a bikini - I really must try that evil sounding upside down crunchie!

FC2007 · 16/03/2007 20:21

I know I don't really need a "pass" to get in but ready suggested I pop over.

My vitals 5 foot 2 and a half and 10 stone 9. Joining weight watchers next week after a bit of a shock at the docs...but thats another story best left on my other thread. Anyway I've decided to get to a healthier BMI (works out at about 9 st 5) but also continue to ttc. so nothing drastic in terms of speed.

Looking forward to getting to know you all.
