sammy you WILL have your baby. I'm so sorry you're having to go through so much suffering. Xxx

Kirjava · 05/12/2015 09:18

fly thank you! We did SMEP but missed the last day as we were both full of a cold. So trying but had no expectations/hope!

Kirjava · 05/12/2015 09:25

Ok...stats

Kirjava, 31, ttc #1, cycle 8 (but month 11). Tiny positive on FRER at 8dp. Bigger but still little positive at 10dpo. I don't dare think about due dates but it would be an August baby, if it all goes ok.

Been taking b complex vits for 3 cycles to try to lengthen my luteal phase. Longest I've had is 11 days.

Dh started taking 1000mg vit c, and zinc this month.

I have long cycles, ovulated very late and have a short luteal phase. I honestly thought I'd never get a bfp without medical intervention.

This group of ladies has been so amazingly wonderful. Ttc is horrible and hard and stressful. So good to have you all. I'll hang around at the back as Im not ready to fully accept I'm preggo. And I want to keep pom pom waving!

For those that like pee stick porn, here's my frer from this morning.

DizzyNorthernBird · 07/12/2015 10:26

Morning! Hope you're all well. Wow it's been quiet here!

I had my appointment this morning with my GP. Whilst she was a bit dismissive about a lot of my concerns, she was open to the possibility that my irregular cycles might be caused by ovarian cysts, and has referred me for an ultrasound scan. I should hopefully get a letter through with my appointment by the end of January.

She did however press on me the importance of getting my DP in for an appointment to be referred for his SA. It takes 6 months to get an appointment around here Hmm. So if my scan results are fine, she can't refer me for any further investigations until he's done his bit.

DP said we'd discuss this tonight. I'm a bit annoyed because what is there to discuss? He's so bloody difficult sometimes.

GP confirmed that with cysts they don't necessarily occur every month, so this would explain why I can go through several months of relatively regular cycles but then random long cycles (when I've googled ovarian cysts all the results are about pcos and the info seems to suggest this is an ongoing problem rather than something more sporadic).

We discussed what other long term options there are for me, depending on my scan results. She did say that I wouldn't qualify for clomid because I do actually ovulate. So I'm hoping if I'm found to have cysts there'll be other options available to make me regular. Anyway, for now I'm just happy to have that next step of a scan!

DizzyNorthernBird · 07/12/2015 10:36

Doh! I'm kicking myself now. DP persuaded me not to take soy this cycle in case the GP wanted to do more blood tests and it skewed my hormones. So I didn't and now I've missed my chance for this month as I'm cd8. Grr!

MagpieCursedTea · 07/12/2015 10:42

Glad to hear you got your referral DizzyN, give that DP of yours a kick up the arse about his SA though!
I might be wrong, but I thought clomid could still be prescribed for women who ovulate, or at least ovulate sporadically? Might be worth looking into!

I'm off to the doctor again this afternoon as I'm still feeling ill, it's been 2 weeks now. So bored of it!

How's everyone else doing?

Get well soon magpie and hoping for some good luck on you dizzy .men make it so much harder ,i wish they were more receptive.anyway good luck and hope he is in a better mood tonight.
Im on my count down to a bfp or af by friday.poased today and got a bfn.hoping everyone else is doing well and baby dust to all.

Sodasoda · 07/12/2015 11:41

Morning everyone,

Sorry to hear you're still under the weather magpie.

Glad you've been referred for a scan dizzyn. It's tricky with men and their swimmers isn't it? They're so defensive about it! My DH went to GP today to get referred. I hope he doesn't have to wait 6 months. He has a number to call to make an appointment. He was already talking about his tactics to make sure it was a really good sample which I think is missing the point somewhat!!

On CD4 today and AF already seems to be over. It was so light this time. It's been pretty light since I came off BC (only lasting around 3 days and even then it's just panty liner stuff). I know I shouldn't complain but it does seem a bit strange. They were never bad but when I was on BC they were 5 days and seemed more 'proper' if you know what I mean. Confused

Mimilicious013 · 07/12/2015 12:00

Hie soda ,please don't complain kkk! It gives u a chance to dtd early.ever since ttc my cycles have become shorter suggesting i o earlier than i thought so this month started bd as early as cd6.hoping for some good news soon.so u best start dtd soon !!

DizzyNorthernBird · 07/12/2015 12:14

soda I totally think it's a macho thing. Like if they're told their swimmers aren't up to scratch it will make them less of a man. I think it's part that and part laziness with my DP. He's already admitted to me that he hates ttc and everything that goes with it (he only just about tolerates me temping and God forbid if I try to talk about my charts with him). If he had it his way we'd have sex once in the middle of the month and I'd be preggo and that would be that. He doesn't understand that I'm not his ex wife, who supposedly had it easy both times, and I come with my own problems and the disadvantage of age against me. He does want a baby with me but for some reason makes this whole thing harder than it needs to be. Fuckwit.

My af is pretty much the same as your soda. I don't think it matters, from what I've read, or has any bearing on your fertility.

magpie maybe they do prescribe clomid in those circumstances......my GP seemed to think it's just for people who don't ovulate though. I do ovulate (based on my temping and my prog results after cd21 bloods was very good) I'm just irregular.

Pixa · 07/12/2015 12:32

I wish I could kick talk to your DH for you, DizzyN.

Sodasoda · 07/12/2015 12:35

Thanks for reassurance on AF dizzy.

My DH thought TTC would be very easy based on his super fertile sister (bracing myself for a third pregnancy announcement in January because they want a 3rd September baby - imagine being able to plan to that extent, argh!!). Its definitely a macho thing. I'd hate for there to be anything wrong with DH sperm because I think he'd find it so hard to deal with.

Short AF doesn't mean early ovulation for me mimi. It was cd19 last month and we tired ourselves out by DTD every day too early!
