Hope it's not too presumptuous but the last thread was nearly full so thought I'd get a new one ready!

Hi all

Ugh. First day back at work post-hospital today and it was soooo busy. I've got a work event on Thursday and hated being out of the office last week as I could almost see everything piling up. Now I have a midday print deadline to meet tomorrow and a week's worth of work to do!

Very tired and feeling a bit out of it today. Plus I got ewcm today - like I feel like ttc after all this! I'm amazed you think I sound positive Nomio lol, I don't feel it! So think this will be another ruined month for us :( It's so hard, and yes Magpie will definitely be chasing GP this week.

How is your DS? Do hope he's ok now and pleased you had good doctors and nurses at your end! I still haven't looked into FF yet but like Nomio and the Dizzy's DizzyN DizzyM I am feeling totally fed up with ttc atm. Just feels like so much hard work for no bfn, and especially after what my body has been through lately!

Genghis - really hope your docs appt goes well :)

Kellz sorry to hear you're feeling rough chick, hope you feel better soon and that the weird symptoms are a sign of something positive!

waves to everyone else

Kellz92 · 22/02/2016 22:58

Blueberry hope you manage to get caught up. I was off today and I know I'll be busy tomorrow. I have 3 job packs to do tomorrow :( let's hope my boss has done some today which I highly doubt lol

Hoping the weird signs are good news. DH is adamant this is our month. Last time he thought that I was pregnant with DD lol.

Hope you're feeling better soon xxx

MagpieCursedTea · 23/02/2016 06:05

Kellz I hope your DH thinking that is a good sign for you! Any temp rise today?

Blueberry sorry to hear that work is so stressful. I'd say to take some more time off to recover but it sounds like that would just increase your stress levels. Try to take it easy! My DS is slowly getting better, thanks for asking!

I'm still cramping but no bleeding yet, my temp is still up so guessing the progesterone is still working it's way out of my system.

Magpie Hope so! Im not too hopeful. Nope, a drop. Still only high on monitor, but second line on OPK is getting darker! Im getting really fed up. Still got ache/cramps, ewcm.

FF gave me a clear circle instead of blue today but i dunno why as i temp same time each day. I took my temp 3 times one after another to check as it was low and the other times were similar. God knows! Going to give up soon lol

Hope youre cramping isnt too bad!

Maybe it's like kettle, a watched ovary doesn't ovulate? Grin
What your normal ov day? Good that the OPK is getting darker, must be on it's way!

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 23/02/2016 11:19

Magpie glad your DS is on the mend - poor mite! How old is he? Hope your cramping subsides..

Kellz I have no idea about charts but really hope ovulation is soon. You'll be exhausted after all the dtd! Hope you're feeling better by the way, and that work wasn't too hectic.

Blueberry Hope you made/are going to make your deadline. Sorry work is so hectic, and hope you don't overdo it - you've had a rough old time so try and take it easy (easier said than done)

BorisIsBack · 23/02/2016 12:08

Oooh nearly time for a new thread!

blueberry sorry work is manic. You've had a difficult time, be good to yourself.

magpie your poor kid. How stressful.

Kellz I found temping to be too stressful the extra data made me over analyse.

Happy tursday everyone.

Kellz92 · 23/02/2016 13:27

Magpie Must be the case! haha! I normally peak CD15/16 and ov CD17ish and im only CD17. I hope so, need to stop stressing about it haha.

Genghis I am shattered! i need a week off lol. Im not bad thanks, took a massive nose bleed while driving to work today as this headache is ridiculous also feeling a bit sick but guessing thats the headache! Works busy but keeping me going lol.

Boris I agree it is stressing me out! I did notice its nearly time for a new thread!

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 23/02/2016 21:14

Hope everyone is doing well? Kellz your poor DH - hope he's on the mend soon!

My gynaecologist apt. went fine - I was a bit worried when he started down the line of "Well, I wouldn't be too worried until two years of trying" but all was forgiven when he ordered a number of tests. Basically the hormonal ones, blood tests for sexual health and for toxoplassomethingorother and rubella, and also a HSG. He mentioned that the HSG might be uncomfortable (anyone here had it and how did you find it?) but I was kind of shocked when he said that I might need to buy the dye myself!! (I swear it's a legit. practice - just the way over here Grin)

Nomio how's the gym going? I've been aiming for 4 times a week but gave myself today off!

Boris hope all is going well? Are you doing the IVF in the UK?

Hello to everyone!

MagpieCursedTea · 23/02/2016 21:27

Genghis sounds like a productive appointment! Having to buy the dye yourself made me giggle though, do you need to source it yourself too? I can't imagine the local supermarket stocking it Wink
My DS is 2 (well nearly 2 and a half now!) he's improved a lot today, little trooper.

Kellz your poor DH, I hope he feels better soon!

Boris it is nearly time for a new thread! Are we going to have the intro we talked about a while ago on the new one? How's things with you?

I've still not started bleeding yet, I know it can take longer but I really thought because I was bleeding so much before it would come back quickly, not sure if there's any logic to that.
I've got my gynaecology appointment tomorrow. I'm worried they'll just say there's nothing they can do and send me away. I wanted to ask about PCOS but not sure if they'll just think I'm being silly.

OP posts:
GenghisKahnSchmitz · 23/02/2016 22:42

Ha ha, thankfully not Magpie! If I have to buy it, I will get a prescription from the radiologist's clinic to take to a chemist. Talk about making things difficult Confused.

Glad your son is on the mend! I definitely think you should ask about the PCOS - it's a valid concern, and I can't imagine the dr will think you're silly, more happy that you've actually been troubleshooting as such (sorry that is the worst term to use but hope you know what I mean). Good luck!

Kellz92 · 23/02/2016 23:10

Thank you genghis I'm glad you're appointment went well!!
Thanks magpie hope you're appointment goes well tomorrow Hun.

Xxx

BorisIsBack · 24/02/2016 12:46

Gengis I had a HSG it wasn't nice (possibly the least dignified thing you can go through), but it wasn't painful for me. I understand for some people it can be painful, very like period pains but comes on really quickly, and goes quickly, which catches people by surprise. I think normally its ok though.

I'm having ivf in Europe rather than the UK as it's cheaper and the nhs won't pay for me as DH has children from his first marriage.

Yes magpie the new thread needs a possitive intro as discussed before.
Good luck for tomorrow.

DizzyMerry · 24/02/2016 15:24

Hope your DH is better soon kellz.

Ghengis glad your appointment went well. I didn't have a great experience with a HSG and it had to be abandoned as they weren't getting anywhere near my womb but please don't let that put you off as I later found out I had severe endo and that's what caused the pain. Others on here have had better experiences and I'm sure you will too.

Hope your appointment went well magpie. I'm late on here but I would now ask every single question I have and don't worry about what they think because they've heard/seen it all and are there to help. Let us know how you got on.

When do you fly out for treatment boris?

AF has arrived today so on to cycle 24. I've started taking my preconception vits again and will be having acupuncture next Wednesday. Hopefully we'll get more than one shag in this month!

Hope everyone else is ok.

MagpieCursedTea · 24/02/2016 15:35

DizzyM sorry for AF, hope this cycle goes well for you! I'm currently in the waiting room for my appointment so I will take your and Genghis advice and ask all my questions. Thank you!

BorisIsBack · 24/02/2016 15:45

DizzyM depending on what scans later this week say I should be flying out early next week. So far the drugs haven't been too bad, so I'm worried they are not doing enough!

MagpieCursedTea · 24/02/2016 16:46

Boris that's very exciting! I think people tend to react to fertility drugs differently, much like with pregnancy, some people get little or no symptoms. Try not to worry (easier said than done).

My appointment was slightly strange. I had a medical student take my history then the gynaecologist got her to present it to him in front of me. She did very well with it though but she looked a bit scared.
Anyway, he said that he thinks I have PCOS (was tempted to tell him the bumsnet ladies called it but thought better of it). He wrote me a prescription for metformin and said he was sending me for a scan. I pointed out that is had a scan in December. He looked at the notes which said I only had the one cyst. I was worried he was going to take the prescription away, but he said he wanted to repeat it anyway as the notes said they couldn't see my left ovary (which no one told me and DH has since reminded me they also said at my scan when I was pregnant with DS, slightly worrying).
He then said he was still thinking PCOS but would do a blood test to check. I told him that the GP had done the blood test and told me it was normal but I was concerned about the LH/FSH ratio. He looked at my notes again and said that it was a symptom of PCOS so told the poor medical student to explain PCOS to me whilst he wrote the scan referral. He also said of the metformin doesn't help, he'll look at clomid at my next appointment in 3 months.

Sorry I went on a bit there! Long story short, diagnosed with PCOS and prescribed metformin.

OP posts:
DizzyMerry · 24/02/2016 17:29

People do react differently to things boris so try not to worry, though I appreciate it's hard not to. Fx your scans go well.

Magpie what a productive appointment you've had. Obviously I'm sorry you've been diagnosed with PCOS but I'm pleased that your gynaecologist was productive and prescribed metformin rather than you having to wait until further tests were done. Hope the scan goes well and fx the metformin helps.

loopylou1984 · 24/02/2016 17:58

Boris - I'll be joining you soon on the meds as AF has just arrived. Early.

Will be calling the clinic tomorrow to book my scan, then off we go. I'm terrified! Xx

Kellz92 · 24/02/2016 21:08

Thanks dizzy.

Magpie that seemed a very productive appt. hope the needs help you conceive xx

MagpieCursedTea · 24/02/2016 21:18

Sammy sorry that AF arrived early, but how exciting. Wishing you all the best for this round and keeping my fingers firming crossed for you!

DizzyM and Kellz thanks to you both. It was way more productive than I thought it would be. Obviously wish I didn't have PCOS but good to have an explanation and a plan in place. I really thought he would just focus on sorting the bleeding out rather than the fertility aspect as I thought that would be a different clinic.
