Hello, I'm new to MumsNet. We are officially going to ttc baby #1 at the end of September but I'm 1dpo and in the 7 days leading up to ovulation we DBD 4 times. I'm so so hoping that AF won't make an appearance on the 22nd August! Just starting the tww. Anyone else in this boat, or anyone else ttc on cycle 1?

Best wishes,
K x

Oh brenna!!!! congratulations!!! I'm sooo pleased for you!!! That's brilliant news! Wow that's 2 in our group now x

XL · 28/08/2015 16:06

Welcome the catsmother! I'm sure your cycle will be back to normal in no time at all! It's really difficult not to talk about it once youve decided to go for it isn't it! Download a fertility app and try and track your cycle, you'll be able to see when it becomes regular again then. A few of us on here use ovia, seems to be good! x

Brenna24 · 28/08/2015 16:22

Welcome The CatsMother. I was on and off the pill a few times over the years. My cycle always came straight back. This time I had a coil in for 2 years, had it removed - straight back again. Fx yours is like mine (although mine is so strong that I was like the Fairy Godmother of periods and gave everyone in my vicinity one as soon as I got it/could not override it with pills if I wanted to skip a bleed etc. I am a stubborn bloody woman.

Sunflower86 · 28/08/2015 23:36

Wow brenna thats wonderful! Congratulations ???? lovely to see some bfps happening on here!

Im trying to be a bit less focused this month and determined not to sympton spot again because i imagined about 50 things last month. But saying that, brenna you seem to have a really clear picture of everything going on like your temperature, and thats paid off so maybe ill allow myself some charts and things ???? My opks still not arrived from amazon but my app and cm seems to think its about today or tomorrow but no other physical symptoms that Ive noticed. So we will just dhd every other day for a bit (and this week just gone) to cover all bases and see how we go. We currently have family staying which is very badly timed and not helping the cause at all!

Brenna24 · 29/08/2015 09:56

I am a scientist and I must admit I love a good graph and some data collection. There is no way I could have skipped doing at least a bit of temping. I am slightly disappointed I didn't even get to use the OPK. Next time Grin.

Best of luck with it Sunflower

How are you doing Pixie. I still have Fx for you that AF has stayed away.

We have told our families. Much excitement all around. Both mothers are threatening to come over and help for the birth, my Mum from France and MIL from Italy. No pressure then. Apparently I will have to give birth on the right date. Meep.

LilyMyOneAndOnly · 29/08/2015 10:13

Sorry I have been absent for a while guys, work has been ridiculous these last few days :(

Congratulations Brenna that is absolutely amazing news! I bet it was lovely telling your family.. such a happy time!!

Was wondering if anyone had some words of wisdom for me.. So last Tuesday (CD35) I start to get some brown spotting so I think AF is turning up, bit late but never mind. Had a tiny bit of brown spotting on Wed and Thur and now nothing. Taken another test (used Clear Blue digital and a First Response) and they are both clearly negative.

So am I missing a period this month (I'm now on CD39)? Is it safe to keep ttc when my DH comes home next week or should I wait until I have had a proper period? No idea if I'm even ovulating so have bought some predictor kits. Do you think it's worth a trip to the GP or would I just be wasting their time?

I wish now I had waited for a proper period after stopping the pill.. but was too impatient and wanted to start ttc straight away!

I might post this question as another thread to see if anyone else has some advice too!

Woody096 · 29/08/2015 11:05

Congratulations Brenna24 that is fab news! Very pleased for you! I have bought some ovulation tests but according to my app I won't be ovulating until mid September. Can I ask whether any of you are taking conception vitamins?xx

Sunflower86 · 29/08/2015 11:40

Ah so my opks turned up today but my test showed only a faint second line. I have a feeling I ovulated yesterday based on my cm observations as that was a definite egg white from monday onwards (though its harder to guage cm after dtd) We dtd on weds, fri and today so hopefully that was the right time. Will do more tests and will dtd this week just to be sure but think this is my waiting game now. Cant believe how quickly it comes around and now how long this wait is! So for cycle #2 my test date will be... 14th sept. Here we go!

Lou13e · 29/08/2015 17:35

Morning everyone (I'm allowed to say that as I'm on nights and only just woken up). How is everyone? Sunflower.. I loved doing my opk, I got so excited when I got my first positive, sounds like you're putting plenty of effort in on the dtd front so fingers crossed for you.

I'm now 8 ish days past ovulation which I think makes me CD21, I'm probably going crazy as I love to symptom spot but... I've gone off coffee, it tastes bitter and horrible. I've really cut down whilst ttc but still have two cups a day (I can't handle night shifts with zero caffeine), I woke up at about 330 this afternoon, had one sip of coffee and left the rest, normally the first coffee of the day is orgasmic!! Am puzzled but trying not to get my hopes up. Anyone had similar? X

XL · 29/08/2015 23:58

Hi woody I've been taking pregnacare conception and the OH wellman conception x

Brenna24 · 30/08/2015 05:06

I have been taking Pregnacare conception too.

So far I am still fine with my morning cuppa (I had cut down to only the one ages ago as the thought of being hormonal, nauseus and caffeine deprived simultaneously did not appeal). I am still waiting for the nausea/going off foods ans drinks etc. to kick in. Insomnia and sore nipples are my companions tonight.

MrsRhubarb · 30/08/2015 05:56

AF is three days late, but three BFN on eBay cheapie tests. Grr!

TheCatsMother99 · 30/08/2015 08:13

I'd been taking conception/pregnancy vitamins. Then I stopped as I kept forgetting to take them (they say to take with food and I would always forget at meal times) and was feeling like it wasn't worth it has I hadn't had a withdrawl bleed or anything but now I've had AF I think I will start back on them and be regimented with them so I don't forget to take them.

Woody096 · 30/08/2015 09:58

I am taking the pregnacare conception too. I read quite a few reviews about various different brands. Some people have reported side effects but so far I have been fine. My bestie has just announced her pregnancy, the first of our group so it all seems very real now!

XL · 30/08/2015 19:26

Lily! I still think you should go for it while still tracking and waiting for af just incase! I meant to send that last night but MN was playing up x

XL · 30/08/2015 19:27

Mrs rhubarb fx that the cheapie ones aren't the mega sensitive tests and you get a bfp! x

Pixie1988 · 31/08/2015 17:10

Congrats brenna!! So pleased for you!!

Sorry I've been away, it wont let me sign in with the app so spent the last couple of days searching for this thread through the website but finally found you guys Grin!!
Af came for me Thursday Sad and it was ridiculously heavy on Friday - never had a period like that in my life!! Was a bit gutted but trying to be positive! 8 days until fertile window!!
Hope everyone else is good. Xx

Brenna24 · 31/08/2015 17:23

Oh no Pixie I had my fingers crossed for you. My AF 2 months ago was like that, an absolute horror. I was nearly sick from the cramps. Then the month after that was quite normal.

Enjoy that fertile window Wink

*about- typo ....

1111wisher · 01/09/2015 18:15

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind me joining you all on your journey - I found this thread a couple of days ago and thought id now join in.

I've literally only just started TTC. Been on the pill for roughly 7 years and came off this roughly a month ago. I had done a couple of OPK kits as I just wanted to know initially if I'd start ovulating straight away (or at least showing signs of it) to my amazement I had two smily faces last week so me and my OH dtd last week a couple of times and I'm now waiting. I know that it is incredibly doubtful that I'd catch so soon after coming off the pill but had all the signs of ovulation including cramps to one side and and discharge so I guess you never know!
I'm also getting married on Saturday so if I'm not pregnant may have to deal with af on honeymoon! (It it arrives!?) oh well, that was my gamble I guess!! Xxx

XL · 01/09/2015 18:51

Hi 1111wisher and welcome to the crazy world of ttc! Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding and fx for some good baby news!! Lisa x

Brenna24 · 01/09/2015 19:40

Best of luck 1111wisher and enjoy your day on Saturday.

Good luck this round XL. So far I am feeling fine. Sore boobs still and I think I will need some new bras in a couple of weeks. A bit tired at some times but my backache and cramping has eased off. I did my booking in with the midwife today. Back in 3 weeks to do my 8 weeks bloods.

MrsRhubarb · 01/09/2015 21:47

That's rubbish Pixie fx for you this month, and you XL

All the best for Satuday 111 and enjoy your day!

Still no joy with the cheapie tests, AF five days late - I think it's time to splash out on a proper test!
