Hello, I'm new to MumsNet. We are officially going to ttc baby #1 at the end of September but I'm 1dpo and in the 7 days leading up to ovulation we DBD 4 times. I'm so so hoping that AF won't make an appearance on the 22nd August! Just starting the tww. Anyone else in this boat, or anyone else ttc on cycle 1?

XL/Pixie - exactly same thing happened to me too. I was two days late, with brown/red spotting for two days beforehand.
I read that TTC can mess up even the most regular of cycles. So annoying!

XL - I started reading up about the conceive plus after you mentioned the pre seed... I'd never heard of them before. Let's see!
Rose- nothing will stop us from worrying that we are doing the wrong thing I fear.... Lots of girls have said that they thought the preseed/conceive plus was the reason they got pregnant because it helped their CM. Who knows....

Rose, your friend sounds lovely, but really annoying! Gee's that's intense. You might need to avoid her for a bit! X

So I've a question for you ladies, according to my CBDH OPK I've reached my peak already today.... On CD12.... How many times and when do you guys DTD on these days?? Husband friend had to run off to work before I could tell him today was the day.... So I'll have to wait for him to come home from work and I'm turning all looney tune that I don't want to miss the window......

So I have my very light AF again...

What ovulation tests do you all use, I think I need to check I am actually ovulating!

Hey Ren, I use Clear Blue Dual Hormone indicator, digital ones. I really like them. They're silly proof and you can get about 3 months out of the box of 20 if you use them carefully. x

Ren I use internet cheapies called one step, about £3 for 20 and never had a problem with them.

I use the cheapie one step opks too ren
pixie yep the preseed is the fertility friendly lube I'd read good and positive things about it but after trying not for me!! Lol!

wander I've had a pos opk on cd12 seems to vary between 12 and 15 for me... I just carry on and dtd every other day I've read some recommend everyday and then others every other day

I know! Me too I did start off doing it everyday after a positive opk then I spoke to a friend of mine who was having IVF and she said her consultant had said not to do it everyday but every other day... I've now tried both and I figure that sperm can last for days in there so every other day for me is enough lol!! I'm sure there's other people that do it multiple times daily!! I couldn't do that with work aswell id be dead!! Lol x

Yes that's what I heard ren that's why I dtd every other day!! Positive opk today cd12 fx for a good month!

XL, we're very in tune! I'm on CD13 and got my 2nd and final 'peak' on the opk today.
I'm a turbo freak and have gone for the every day method in the fertile period. Husband is ready to hang up his boots now!!!

These next two weeks can hurry right up :-)

Haha!!!! I bet he is wander! I am doing head stands and allsorts... It's quite amusing really! I shall have a day off tomorrow and go once more Sunday although I'm on nights so shall be knackered!

Totally! At least we can share these mad antics with our little group. I think my mates would think I'm insane.

I'm with you on the head stands.... Well not quite. But the whole legs in the air thing. I thought I was doing well lasting 5-10mins then my husband came home from work last night and told me (after finding an interest to Google conception tricks) that I need to do it for 30mins!!!!
We need to take time off work and social life to keep up with all these tricks!
Hopefully last month for us x

Lol!! Love that he's been looking! I started with 5-10 I've now upped the anti to 20 mins legs in the air and then a further 10 just lying down... Today I fell asleep for an hour! getting too old for these acrobatics! Fx! x

My Ovia app says my fertile period is from this Friday till Wed, annoyingly, my DH is away with work Friday until Monday, he's out Tuesday night (although he will be home late at night) so really that just leaves Wednesday after work. Will still use my OPKs incase the app isn't accurate but it's still bloomin irritating. I feel as though this month is already out for us
