Hello, I'm new to MumsNet. We are officially going to ttc baby #1 at the end of September but I'm 1dpo and in the 7 days leading up to ovulation we DBD 4 times. I'm so so hoping that AF won't make an appearance on the 22nd August! Just starting the tww. Anyone else in this boat, or anyone else ttc on cycle 1?

Best wishes,
K x

Sadly AF arrived today! It's only one month of ttc, so looking forward to trying again ;) congratulations Daisy! Wonderful news xx

Wanderlust1 · 26/09/2015 21:17

XL - sorry I didn't acknowledge your earlier message re start day for OPK. Thanks for the info. I know you're right, I'm just being silly and worrying I will miss it as mine had small amounts of blood too. I started this morning.
I tell you, all this kit is adding up! Fingers crossed this is our 4th and final month XL :-) x

Pixie1988 · 26/09/2015 21:56

Caved in and tested bfn!!! Really thought it was my lucky month. So gutted Sad

TheCatsMother99 · 26/09/2015 22:32

Ah Pixie, try not to be too disheartened (although I know it's easier said than done). I will keep all my fingers and toes crossed it happens for you soon.

Wanderlust1 · 26/09/2015 22:47

Pixie, try again in a few days with FMU. It's late and your pee could be too weak x

Pixie1988 · 26/09/2015 22:59

Thanks for the lovely message ladies, Didn't wanna test this morning then have to go work on a 14 hour shift. I did not have a wee for like 5 hours though.
I think I'll try mon or Wednesday as on another 14 hour Tuesday.

Good luck thecatsmother hope af stays Away! X

XL · 26/09/2015 23:46

Ahhh sorry pixie and woody it is so disheartening isn't it.... Never mind maybe next cycle will be ours x

XL · 26/09/2015 23:49

I pray you're right wander! I'm hoping 4th time lucky for us!! Although I do have to keep reminding DH that it can take some normal people up to a year or more to conceive let alone me with My gynae hx.. Ah well 3 more goes for me then it's ref for IVF I'm literally crossing everything! Smile

TheCatsMother99 · 27/09/2015 11:19

AF has reared her ugly head. Angry

Right... Back in to positive mode ready for next cycle. Not going to let it get me down.

XL · 27/09/2015 14:03

Sorry to hear that cats x

Wanderlust1 · 27/09/2015 16:40

XL - I sincerely hope it doesn't come to that and this is the lucky thread after all. Our numbers will come up soon x

Second day of OPK and I think my cycle is taking a massive early shift this month as today I had the 'high fertility' flashing smiley face. So weird, I had a weird inkling that I felt ovulation was starting early this month as I started getting the pains only a day after AF finished.

Tell me, does anyone know a friend that was TTC and was 'just relax'ed about it???? Don't you want to bop those friends that say that on the head???

Sorry Cats, good on you for staying positive. X

TheCatsMother99 · 27/09/2015 22:08

I really, really hope things work out for you before the IVF route, XL. I'll muster up all my good vibes for you on your next cycle.

Wander, as far as I know, I don't know anyone who has been relaxed about TTC & the more I think about it, the more I've realised the ones who pretended to be relaxed actually weren't relaxed at all! I always thought I would be chilled out about it and I never thought I would buy ovulation tests or download a flipping iphone app to help me conceive but never mind... C'est la vie. One of my bridesmaids had had a convo with me about her TTC knowing she was going to be my bridesmaid in a year or so's time (or whenever it was) but I told her not to put anything off on my account and to get cracking. Looking back, it did actually take her a few months to fall pregnant (and she was pregnant whilst a BM).

I've been to a wedding today & had to face the wife of my DH's friend who I found out on the way to the venue is pregnant (which actually made my tear up - completely unreasonable and unexpected of me). I then had her innocently ask me if we were thinking of having a baby soon. Such an off the cuff question but I wanted to say to her that we do want kids, are trying and I'm a bit pissed off that it's not as easy as I thought etc but actually had to say to her 'oh, one day!'.

I blame my bloody AF for my bad mood. In reality I know that I'm so early on in my TTC so I've nothing to be pissed off about.

XL · 28/09/2015 01:15

Thanks wander and cats me too! Don't fancy it much! Confused the only positive is that I meet all the criteria and will hopefully receive 2 free goes if it comes to it....

Nope... Not known anyone be relaxed about it ever! Apart from the ones who only had to look at their partners and were up the duff do to speak! Grin
It's impossible to not be thinking about it! I don't care what anyone says it's impossible to relax or just forget about it!

XL · 28/09/2015 01:17

And is it me or has everyone around you suddenly become pregnant?! ..... Probably not probably just paying more attention or noticing more!

Pixie1988 · 28/09/2015 09:56

The people who I know have said "it wasn't planned" I also know people to have fallen pregnant on contraception!!
I think we just notice it more XL - I work with a pregnant lady and always seem to see bumps wherever I go!!

I'm 15dpo and af 3 days late, did a test this morning with fmu and bfn!! My cycles turned regular when I came off contraception (they stopped completely) - don't know what to think?

Wanderlust1 · 28/09/2015 11:22

Hey ladies, how are we all today?

Cats, sorry you had to go through that at the wedding. I think people think they're being sweet when they ask and simply do not think about the stress that we're actually going through to want this to happen. I think it's such a flippant thing to say. I used to get really angry about it after our wedding last year, as it was all that people would ask us and at that point we weren't wanting to TTC, but everyone thought that because we were married the next thing was to have kids. So less people ask us now.

But my close friends that know we are TTC (that dont have kids), just say, 'try and relax about it'. Seriously, I will be on their case when this catches up with them!!

XL, i'm with you. Everyone I know seems to be pregnant or literally just had a baby. 3 local friends have just given birth and it is heart wrenching as you're happy for them, but just want it to happen to you.
I find myself being really teary these days. My emotions are all over the show. It's so much pressure and I know im inducing it on myself, but now we are down this road it's not like we are just going to stop and even if we did, you'd still know roughly when you're ovulating and instigate DTD around that time.

I have 4 sets of friends that got pregnant by accident, so they didnt go through this at all. None of the OPK's, starting at 3 iPhone apps like a lunatic and constantly googling how to work this that or the other!

I've just ordered some Conceive Plus - this will make you laugh.... i ordered it on my corp card by accident and when you google the company its very clear that its an 'intimate lubricant' company! UH OHHHHHH. That should make interesting reading for the accountant next month. SH**

Lets try and keep our heads high girls. XL you must be coming up to your fertile window now too? I'm currently on my 2nd day.

Here wwe go!! xx

XL · 28/09/2015 12:52

pixie what you describe is exactly what happened to me this month... I'm as regular as clockwork but I was 3 days late! Grrrr I'm sure it was just my body messing with me still have my fx for you X

wander am starting opks this afternoon fertile window starts tomorrow but I'm on a 12 HR shift so will start dtd Wednesday Grin sorry tmi! Funny you said about conceive plus... My preseed should be dropping through the door as we speak!! x

Rose2806 · 28/09/2015 13:07

I'm on day 2 after positive ovulaton test so almost the same as you guys, fx for all of us!

I have conceive plus but am a bit worried about using it all the time in case it actually prevents anything from happening so kind of alternating.. am I being silly? It has some good reviews on Amazon but that's all I have to go on!

I have a friend who is obsessed with getting pregnant- she was lucky and conceived first time around but she won't stop hassling me about it since we got married! I'm not giving her any information about whether we have started trying yet but she's decided I'm already pregnant because when she saw me last she thought I had a bit of a belly- it was a food baby!!

ren2903 · 28/09/2015 15:53

Hi All,

Congratulations Daisy!

And fingers crossed for everyone next month who has been unlucky this month.

AF is due for me tomorrow, think I'm feeling like it's coming and I did a early response test on sat and got a big fat no and my app seems to think AF is on her way...

I'm with you on the noticing everyone who is pregnant thing, it's become like a spidy sence!
