Hello, I'm new to MumsNet. We are officially going to ttc baby #1 at the end of September but I'm 1dpo and in the 7 days leading up to ovulation we DBD 4 times. I'm so so hoping that AF won't make an appearance on the 22nd August! Just starting the tww. Anyone else in this boat, or anyone else ttc on cycle 1?

Drink cola with a straw in, like you would vodka and coke, erm, alcohol free beer (in a glass so they can't see the bottle).... And act pissed!

Hey everyone, can I join? This seems like a nice thread!

I'm 29 and we have just started TTC this month, haven't done any ovulation sticks or apps so far but should be ovulating any day now, so testing around 7th October :-)

Would be great to chat on here about all the thoughts/feelings that go on, I can already feel myself starting to get obsessed and it's so hard not to talk to friends about it, very excited to though :-)

Tried an ovulation test today and it was negative :-( Do you guys know if it's still positive when you actually ovulate, or only just before? It's the clearblue one.

Are you using the dual hornone digital CB ones (with the elec smiling faces)? Or the line ones?

It's the digital one with the smiley face. On the instruction leaflet it seems that there is another super advanced one available from the clearblue range but it's not that

Once you get the static smiley face, it means that you'll ovulate anytime within the next 48hrs, so you should DTD for the next few days. Once you have the static face you don't need to test again that month and the static face will stay for 2 days.
Hope that makes sense. I'm no expert, but I've been using those ones for the past 3 months.

Just had another look at it- it's the more basic one that only tests the LH surge and your two most fertile days. So it seems either I already ovulated (which is fine as we have dtd regularly since my period stopped) or I am ovulating late (currently on cycle day 15). My period is sometimes late but never early and I haven't seen much CM yet, so will keep testing!

Hi rose and welcome! I had a positive ovulation test on CD 15 this month and it was CD 12 the month before so I guess sometimes it will chop and change. I test from CD 10 onwards until I get a positive. Hope you get one soon!

Eugh I hate the wait! It's the worst bit!! I kind of feel like I'm wishing my life away month by month!! I ve just ordered some preseed from Amazon I've been reading good things about it so I thought worth a go I'll try just about anything!! Came with some ovulation and pg tests too

I'm with you in the whole wishing each month away. It's so blimming emotional. I never thought that this was what TTC would be like. I've turned into a nut job that states at 2 apps wanting them to change their data faster..... What has become of me?

I think we are the same age, I know what you mean. I'm under added pressure cause Im being made redundant next year, so it's perfect timing for little career/baby break, but my body needs to hurry up and play ball!

Out of interest, because you had a similar late period with brown spotting for a couple of days on your due dates, which day will you start OPK'ing? I'm being neurotic about maybe missing a couple of fertile days if I start on the 8th day of my true flow this month... X

AF due today so took one of my internet cheapies and got a BFN. Urgh. Never mind.

Will test again in a few days if AF doesn't show.
