Hello, I'm new to MumsNet. We are officially going to ttc baby #1 at the end of September but I'm 1dpo and in the 7 days leading up to ovulation we DBD 4 times. I'm so so hoping that AF won't make an appearance on the 22nd August! Just starting the tww. Anyone else in this boat, or anyone else ttc on cycle 1?

Seriously the cheapies are fine they detect quite a low range of hCG they're just the same as the ones that are used in the NHS... Think Neurofen and ibuprofen... Just paying extortionately for the same goods but with a fancy ass name Shock x

I'm crossing my fingers for you today. Blimming AF arrived, but I think Mother Nature heard me cursing, so she put me out of my misery! And at least I can count down days to the next ovulation (she says!)

Thanks so much Cats, you're right, it's only my 3rd cycle.

I just get so frustrated when I've got 4 friends my age that I can think of straight away, who got pregnant 'by a complete accident'. Then there's us using OPKs and all sorts trying to hit the bulls-eye for months! Rrrrrr.

Positivity will resume tomorrow :-) x

Know how you feel... My mind boggles at those who have 'accidental pregnancies'. I just can't work out how they've managed it!

I have a really bad feeling about this month that I can't shake off, don't know why! The thing is with me - I don't expect the best, then i won't be so disappointed.

Sorry to those who've tested this week and got bfn's. Mine's due 23/24, I tested this morning (I know it's too early!) and got bfn, thought I would cos still don't want to test in morning before work and don't think I want to keep pee in fridge either (!) and we are away next weekend so tried my luck. Wasn't surprised as convinced myself it's not happened this month, but it's only first month so staying +ve! Good luck all.

Oh Pixie, I totally know what you mean. It's so hard to keep positive at times, I feel like this journey is a complete emotional rollercoaster, but like you say, we have to keep positive. You girls probably think I'm a fruit loop, but try reading The Secret. It really helped me at another time in my life and I just started reading it again. It helps you put some positivity back in xx

There are some strange goings on with my body this month.... Af was due Friday. I'm always dead on time and have a 27-28 day cycle. Nope nothing Friday but had some mild cramping so just left it. Saturday comes and nothing then in the afternoon a small amount of pinkish blood on wiping ....sorry tmi!! Again today nothing!! And an even smaller amount of pinkish blood ???
How bizarre I did a pg test sat which was bfn.... I think I'm just going to wait it out and see if it arrives if nothing tomorrow or Tuesday I may retest. I've never known anything like this...what do you think?! Confused

Ooo this sounds promising! The fact there's a bit of pink blood maybe.

I had a weird one this month, I'm normally exactly the same as you, 27/28 day cycle and on day 27 I started with some brown spotting that continued into Saturday too, then a small bit of blood. But yeAterday full AF arrived. It never normally starts like this. I drove myself mad googling. I read that some people who have had very regular AF's until now have had messed up dates etc when TTC.

That said, yours sounds different to mine, which was distinctively brown with a few small clots (way tmi for this time of the morning - sorry!!)

That sounds a bit promising, XL. Yeah, I think give it a re-test in a couple of days, just so you're sure.

My AF is due on 26th (Saturday). Although my Ovia app is saying I can test on thurs. I'm away at the moment but did sneak an internet cheapie in my bag so might test thurs or fri even though in reality I know it's likely to be too early.

I've gone from feeling like we might have done it to now thinking that it's not likely at all that we'll get our BFP on the first month of trying so in already kinda gearing myself up fr next cycle.

Hi All,

Something strange going on with my mums net i don't seem to get any notifications of a post anymore...

Sorry to all those who have had a negative so far but think positive for next time!

We are being very relaxed about when we dtd and just keeping it business as usual for now, if we don't have any luck after 9-12 months it might become a bit more of an military operation and I'm tracking my data now just in case.

According to the ap I'm due AF on 29th which a also happens to be a big birthday for oh, however I am contemplating testing on sat 26th before we go out as the 'why aren't you/she drinking' questions are starting to get really annoying even when I give an excuse people are giving us a look! Is that madness!

We are also having a party at the house next weekend for the big birthday so if I do get a bfp and the best birthday present for oh god knows how I'm going to disguise the not drinking!
