Hello, I'm new to MumsNet. We are officially going to ttc baby #1 at the end of September but I'm 1dpo and in the 7 days leading up to ovulation we DBD 4 times. I'm so so hoping that AF won't make an appearance on the 22nd August! Just starting the tww. Anyone else in this boat, or anyone else ttc on cycle 1?

My AF is due on the 26th, which coincidentally is the day I get back from holiday, so I'll be testing then provided AF hasn't reared it's ugly head. Do those internet cheapies work that early though? Or will only the clear blue early pregnancy ones work when you're only about 2 weeks preggo?

I'm quite glad that I'll be away for some of my 2ww as it'll take my mind off the wait!

I'm not sure about the ovulation sticks, Pixie, I've kinda used them and the Ovia app together and things have tied up with each other. I'm still new to this whole testing thing though!

I've been using Clear Blue dual hormone OPKs for 3 months and it's been really easy to work out as it gives you a smiley face etc... But what I have noticed in conjunction with using the MyDays app is that my fertile window according to the OPKs is sometimes different to the app prediction of my cycle and it also varies each month. Then everyone is different too. I have cycles 25-28 days long and ovulate 14-17 days into my cycle.
That said it could be that you drank more last night, so your pee is less concentrated... Try again tomorrow maybe and if in doubt DTD anyway. Can't hurt right???

I would test the day after af is due - obviously if she hasn't show up! Saves having to face bfn ?? Good luck!

Ovia app was spot on with my fertile window last month that's why it threw me off!! Yeah I'll keep testing for the next couple of days, been dtd every other night anyway ?? x

wanderlustMy AF is due the 18th and if it isn't here I shall be testing too! I have no different symptoms from last month tho so I don't know if that's good or bad tbh!! Have you had any symptoms at all? x

pixie I like the ovia app but as I kept adding in info it kept moving my fettle window around! so I've been using it and opks but kinda following the sperm meets egg plan and am just hoping that something works!!! Fx! x

I'll be testing 23/24 when I am due. Haven't spotted any symptoms at all, don't know if this is bad or means nothing yet?! Feel like I'm being more aware of my body but then thinking maybe I always get these odd aches and pains and usually think nothing of them. Have felt really tired but that's pretty normal for me!

XL, will you test 19th then? Or are you still going to test morning of 18th?

Well I'm telling and believing that I felt implantation! I really felt ovulation this month.
Have you girls read the Secret? I'm a strong believer..... Or mental.

Weirdly, I really felt like I could feel ovulation this month.

I know I've read that sometimes people have aches etc when they ovulate (or are about to) but I was really achey, and I haven't had that before as far as I can tell. I'd been on the pill for so long though that I hadn't really ovulated for ages.

As much as I desperately do want a BFP I'm trying to stay as relaxed as poss and keep telling myself that it is just the first month of trying and so if it's negative it's not a big deal. I think that thinking like that is the only thing keeping me (semi) sane.

Ovia is telling me to test in 2/7... Not doing that tho... Gonna give af at least a chance to turn up!

XL, yes I totally agree, we probably had the pains and thought nothing of it, it was so glaringly obvious for me though this month and bang on the date according the CB OPK and also the app. So I believe they're good.

Ok cool (well I'm trying to stay cool), I think I'll do the same as you then XL and when AF isn't there on the 18th, I'll test that morning.

My Ovia app is telling me '9 days till pregnancy test' but that's 2 days before the projected period.

I'm guessing I should wait until projected period before testing? Is that right? I don't want to do to early and get a wrong result but if I can test in 9 days then I will.

I'm not sure why it tells us a couple of days early that we can test... I think that's probably the earliest a test is able to pick up hcg in the urine... I'm still going to hang on and see if af shows tho!

Girls slap me now. Its that time of the month where crazy starts happening. I'm CD24 and just tested. Got a negative, but I just couldn't help myself!!!! I had one of those CB early tests that can pick up 4 days early.
Such a fool, just wasted a test now. Is anyone else climbing the walls?x

I had terrible cramping, but a weird kind of cramping yesterday & still feel a bit weird/tender there today. AF not due for another 10 days so god knows what that was - also, it didn't feel like normal cramps. I've heard of implantation cramps but they're meant to be light, these took my breath away.

Anyone else had this?

See, I'm already driving myself mad by monitoring every single thing my body does now. Lord help me, I'm going to be an absolute nightmare.

I get that around ovulation. Maybe you're ovulating later than you thought?

I'm not sure, I got achey feelings and a positive ov test about a week ago?

Maybe my body's all messed up from being on the pill for so long

wander lol!!! Me too!!! I was working a night shift last night and felt perculiar early this morning-checked my bp etc which was normal so ended up testing just to make sure! was negative too!!!
I'm gonna wait to see if af arrives now and if not test the weekend or after it... What an idiot!!

XL, I was thinking of you and I'm glad it's not just me losing the plot :-) I've tested each morning since and I'm convincing myself that the test strips are getting darker..... Either that or I'm going blind and keeping Clear Blue in business!!

Your AF could be due tomorrow right? Me too, or Saturday. Fingers crossed for us still. We're not out of the game yet!!

Yes tomorrow or Saturday for me! I'm thinking it will happen too.... You need to buy a job lot of tests from Amazon or eBay and save yourself some pennies!! Clear blue are daylight robbers!!!

I know this sounds mental, but I have this silly thing in my head that the cheapies aren't as good. Stupid I know, because they probably are!
