MAS did they offer you a c section again ? I either would like one or to be induced early ! I don't want to get to 9 months (hopefully) and something happen if I wait for it to be natural I want to know it will be ok. I'm hoping they will induce me early else I'm asking for a c section which my dh family keep having a go at me for which I'm now giving as good as I'm getting haha xx

MAS7 · 06/08/2015 09:35

Apparently I can choose another section as I've had one before but I really want to try natrual as the recovery is really hard and this time I will have a 3 year old as well as a newborn! The thought of another emergency section is really scary though and I'd hate it to end up that way again.

The consultant did say she'd authorise early sweeps to try and start things as if I get to my due date with no sign it will be another section.

I think once we get close to term as long as they are moving regularly we don't need to worry about it going wrong. I understand your worries all the same though after everything we've been through to get this far... Hopefully you will get a nice consultant who can offer some reassurance. x x

Choccywoccydodah · 06/08/2015 09:45

MAS that's why I walked out of my consultant appt on Monday as they were running stupidly late. I was moaning after half an hour at 3.45, and a lady next to me had an appt at 2.15 and still hadn't been seen!
The waiting room was stifling and it stank!!!!
The great thing about a Saturday appt Louise (my one where I was discharged originally) I was seen and out without an hour as it's not very busy.
I mentioned the growth scans and she didn't seem too fussed hence i was discharged, but then she spoke to prof quenby and arranged the scans for 28,32, and 36 weeks. I just wish they'd talk to each other before they make a decision on things and without you having to prompt it. Isn't that the whole reason for a consultant appt? THEY tell YOU what needs to happen?

MAS7 · 06/08/2015 09:56

You'd think so wouldn't you choccy! Be much more reassuring that way.

Kazz2112 · 06/08/2015 09:58

I've just had a call to organise my 6 week scan. Supposed to be a week on Monday but they've no space so it's pushed back to a week on Tuesday with another 6 days later at 7 weeks (we go on holiday for 11 nights the day after!) Is that safe?!!!

Feeling my anxiety pricking up now!

Choccywoccydodah · 06/08/2015 10:03

Can't answer the 'safe' question kazz but I think ladies tend to wait till later due to sickness more than anything. Also double check your insurance x

Marchgirl · 06/08/2015 10:56

It's still ok! Measuring 7+4, so 2 days ahead and a flickering hb. Feels like a big milestone as the others haven't reached this size (even though 3 of them were older by dates)

Woohoo march so happy for you!!! It's amazing to see on screen, eeeek!

Kazz don't worry about going away or flying. I went to Tunisia when I was 6 going on 7 weeks... Make sore you get the trial team to write you a letter on headed paper explaining what the needles are for, how many there are and what drug/placebo is in them. Get a few copies with 'wet' signatures too. Take a cool bag with an ice pack in as hand luggage.
Newcastle airport were fine after reading my hospital letter, and when we got to Tunisia they were fine also.
On the way back, Tunisia didn't like I had a few needles left and made us go to one side and took one of the letters - was actually really scary! - they kept asking what it was and -asking why. Finally after 30 mins we were passed through security!
Make sure you hotel has a fridge for your meds too.
As for the actual flying, I got up for a wander every hour and wore flight socks. I will say when landing both ways I got really really bad cramps but think it might be to do with the pressure.
I did panic a few times when away that something was happening and I was going to miscarry, but I just had to get on with it! I was away 7 nights and for me that was too long since I wanted the comfort of home and trial nurses!
Try and 'forget' you are pregnant if you can, and be prepared you may worry more. I'm sure the sun will take your mind off things :)
Sorry for the essay...... X

Oh right kazz, scans are safe! There's some useful points about travelling abroad and flying in there though..

Really pleased for you gen!

Kazz2112 · 06/08/2015 16:42

Cheers for all the advice! Sorry for the short reply before. was out to lunch!

My trial nurse has confirmed she will book me a scan at week 10 but that leaves me with a very scary 3 week gap between 7 and 10 weeks right over my final danger zone (5+1, 6+4 and 7+1). Aaaarrrggghh. I should just be happy I'm getting an extra scan! Anyway... a long way to go before then

Yay on the good scan Gen and March
