Hi everyone,

Here's our shiny new thread continuing from the old 'who wants to buddy up' thread (sorry, don't know how to link). I'm sure some regulars will be along in a minute and also anyone else who is ttc and would like some company is very welcome to join- we're very friendly!

If it makes you feel any better, I've got a BMI of 19 and it took me 8 months to get pregnant this time so as mrs says it may have absolutely nothing to do with your BMI, sometimes it does just take that long.

OP posts:
nickynackynoo31 · 04/03/2016 19:56

Yes my bmi is highest it's ever been so I am thinking it's that and not trying to think it's something more sinister. I have good days and bad ones past couple have been bad as I just keep thinking that I will not conceive again and that I should be thankful for my 2 boys. Xx

Mrs1986 · 05/03/2016 06:59

Of course you are right to be thankful for the two boys you have.

if you are confident that it's the weight stopping you this time then the great thing is that it's in your control. It's hard losing weight, I really struggle. Slimming world worked a bit for me pre-pregnancy. That friend of mine lost her weight by juicing (breakfast) and souping (dinner) and joining a netball team.
I think she just had whatever her work canteen offered for lunch but always stuck to fresh juice for breakfast and homemade soup for her evening meal.
Some of the juices were gorgeous! I like apple, carrot and ginger!

I hadn't put on any weight during the first 17 weeks, but I'm 18 weeks today, just woke up 4lbs heavier!!

nickynackynoo31 · 05/03/2016 16:24

I'm back on my tablets from the doctor which are fat burners and I'm sticking to slimming world plan. I've also started dechox which is not eating chocolate for the whole of march which is so bloody hard as I eat choc everyday but I'm 5 days in and doing well. Hopefully losing some weight will do me good and I will soon be pregnant again.

You've done really well to go 17 weeks with twins without putting weight on. Hope your feeling a little better now and getting a bit more rest.

issie how long till baby here now??

violet hope you are well hunny. Xx

Issie339 · 06/03/2016 07:42

Having baby by CS and just 2 weeks to go now nicky!! I think I'm just about all ready...except we don't have a name for him which is stressing me out quite a lot. I'm also a bit worried about having 2 kids on my own all the time (OH is rarely at home in the week) especially just after a CS. I'm sure it'll be fine though, I'll just have to get on with it won't I.

How is everyone else?

OP posts:
Mrs1986 · 06/03/2016 13:01

Issie you can't be on your own after c section! You need to be looked after. How much paternity is DH taking? And can you get someone to come and stay for a bit once he's gone back to work?xx

Mrs1986 · 06/03/2016 13:03

Also, what happened to the names on your list?? Gone off them?xxx

Issie339 · 06/03/2016 15:42

DH is taking 2 weeks paternity (well just under 2 weeks) so will be with us until DS is about 12 days old then back to work. When at work he's out of the house 5:30am to 9pm and asleep the rest of the time so no use at all. My mum lives locally but is in her 70s so I can't ask her to do too much. Hoping my recovery will be quick because I remember it being tough last time and I only had DD that time not a toddler as well!

I still like those names, just don't have any I'm 100% sure on...I LIKE them but don't LOVE them if you know what I mean.

Anyway, enough about me, how are you feeling mrs?

OP posts:
Mrs1986 · 06/03/2016 18:35

Ahh hun, that's quite shit. Be super careful, don't go splitting your stitches by being too confident. I am preparing myself for the absolute worst case (not being able to bend and lift them out of a moses basket... But you obviously know what it's like having been through it before.

I really like names with a J - Jake, Jason, Jenson, Joshua.. It's just a coincidence that I like them all, not trying on purpose to find J names haha.

I am ok thanks lovely. We're decorating our whole house at the mo and I'm a bit shattered so hoping for a nice big sleep tonight.
I have bought some books on hypnobirthing in case I end up having a natural labour. May be a load of nonsense but I thought no harm in having a read!
Xxxx

Issie339 · 06/03/2016 19:47

Ooh redecorating the whole house, how exciting!! Tiring though when pregnant. Have you done the nursery yet?

I love all your J names Grin what about Jacob, James (Jimmy), Joseph...can't think of any more! DS will defo be remaining nameless for a bit I'm afraid, but I'm sure we'll settle on something when he's here...well we'll have to!

Yeh it's all a bit daunting but I'm just going to take it as it comes. DH was off for less than 2 weeks last time too and as DD was in NICU for a week it meant he went back to work 4 days after she got home! I hate his work sometimes Angry How long is your DH off for Hun? With twins you'll be needing the extra hands!!

OP posts:
nickynackynoo31 · 12/03/2016 08:54

Hi all
Glad your all doing ok.

issie not long now it's so exciting....you just need to take it steady which I know when you've 2 kids and your on your own isn't easy. I had cs with both mine and found with my 2nd I just tried to do things but at a slower pace and took the attitude that if the housework didn't get done then tough.

mrs you are brave decorating the whole house but at least it's better doing it while you have no little people running around.

Both my boys are j names...jaden and Jimmy. Was sat thinking other day if I get baby no3 would I kèep the j theme going but I'm not sure I would to be honest....I love theo, harrison, for a boy and I love Martha, ava, for a girl xx

Issie339 · 12/03/2016 15:46

nicky we have very similar taste in names! James/Jimmy and Theodore/Theo are both on my shortlist for DS Grin

Good to know you did OK with 2 kids after a CS...I remember being out and about on my own within 3 weeks of having DD and that was a very traumatic emergency CS so hopefully I'll be ok.

Hope everyone's doing ok xx

Hello,

Mrs is the sleep situation any better now, that sounded awful!!!

Issie not long to go now

Duck good to hear your still checking in, whats your update?

Nicky good luck with the healthy eating!!

Update from me is that I've had the GD test last week, was told I would hear back if there was anything wrong and haven't so assume I don't have that. Got measured by the midwife at 25 weeks and he is on the 90th centile. Then got checked again today at 28 weeks after having my antiD injection for been O rhesus negative and midwife said he is head down but back to back. This may explain some of the back pain I have been getting in these last few weeks. Anyway going to try not to worry about it as he still has plenty of time to turn left yet! Might dig the gym ball out though as apparently thats supposed to help.

Issie Mrs like your J names, I'm going for an M name. Mrs do you think you would pick them both a J name or one J name and the other something different? Theres another M name I like if I ever have a second boy, but then I would have M n M's lol x

Issie339 · 21/03/2016 04:55

Hi everyone, hope everyone is ok.

Eek, I'm having my baby today!! Going in to the hospital for my CS in 2 hours- excited but very nervous!!

violet great that the tests came back fine. DD was big and back to back so I know how uncomfortable that can be, I hope you're not in too much pain with your back.
