Sparksflyx · 21/07/2015 08:09

Aw thank you guys waiting to phone docs to get an appt! I'm delighted and so is OH! Can't wait for it to be confirmed! Telling our mums and dads tonight if it's right Mrs was it your first wee of the day when you went to drs? I've peed in a tub in case hahah!

Violet, so sorry to hear AF has come! :( keep positive tho! I hope cause you aren't having a bad one it can mean good things! Just got to try and not think about it! Bah that's harder than it sounds!

Duck, fx your dtd marathon has worked!!

Nicky, I hate when doctors say things like that! I'd think they'd be more supportive, aw I hope AF comes soon so you can start a new cycle! [hugs] Violet s 100% right, respect, dignity and care! Xxx

VioletIbiza88 · 21/07/2015 12:17

Issie any news from you yet? Fx'd x

Duck what's happened with the smiley face machine? Was the IC definitely positive on Thursday or was it dark but not quite as dark as control line. Think I have about 4 days of flashing smiley face on the clear blue one before the solid smiley and also have about four days or so of positive IC's in a row too. Not that that means its normal build up, just that it happens to me too. Alternatively the one on thursday could mean your body tried to ov, but couldn''t and then had to try again, or alternatively could be a double ovulation. Either way hope you were dtd lots! Good luck, when's testing day? x

AF is going now, so almost time for my relaxed cycle to start, going to give eod a try and not using any opk's. Was planning to temp but kept forgetting so will do neither this cycle. Also just not stopping doing anything really, so if I want a "real" coffee I will have one, and if I want heaven forbid an alcoholic drink when I'm not on my AF, I will have one too! Will even do some exercise if I want to do that!! So basically I think I've got to the point where I understand this can take a while, I can't control it and am a little bit over it too Issie and so life goes on x

Congratulations sparks lovely news. What's your EDD? Enjoy telling your parents tonight, such a lovely moment.

No news from me really, AF due Friday and currently no AF signs but still got a few days to go. If no AF on Friday I'll test then but not too hopeful really.

Absolutely violet just do what you want. I kind of got to the point when I was thinking 'well I'm denying myself coffee and alcohol and spending a fortune on OPKs and not getting pregnant...so I may as well drink coffee and alcohol and save my money and not get pregnant' Grin Grin

duck we had a similar situation to this before on this thread with the flashing smileys and Clearblue actually have stats on it, I've attached a screen grab of it as I couldn't be bothered to type it out. So with 6 days of flashing smiley you're still ok as apparently 25% of women get this.

Fingers crossed Duck just keep at the DTD - if nothing else happens at least it's brilliant exercise!! ;-)

Violet glad you're feeling relaxed. Try and convince yourself that it's all going to work out and try to eliminate any doubts (if you can!)

Sparks maybe just where I live but I annoyingly haven't seen a doctor at all.

I'm 7 1/2 weeks and I am not due to speak to anyone for another 2 weeks!! I was thinking, imagine I wasn't taking folic acid or I was eating the wrong foods. They're just assuming I'm reading up on the internet and in books aren't they? I might kid them on when I get there and say "what's folic acid?" & "I thought I could have one glass of wine each day"

Suddenly starting to worry - Violet is it normal that I sonny see anyone until I'm 9+ weeks??

Mrs1986 · 21/07/2015 17:26

*Sonny = don't (stupid phone!!)

Issie339 · 22/07/2015 18:36

Errrr...so this is a shocker but I've just got a BFP!! 2 days before AF due, just on a Superdrug cheapie. Can't believe it, will get some more tests tomorrow when I'm out to be sure. 8 months trying and the month I do everything wrong it happens- typical! Grin

Issie Are you gonna put a bun in the oven??

Issie339 · 22/07/2015 19:58

Is that what you're supposed to do to tell them??? I'm not sure OH would get that, haha, he can be a bit dense at times! How did you tell your OH?

OP posts:
VioletIbiza88 · 22/07/2015 20:49

Congratulations!!!! My longest ttc buddy has her BFP!!!! Flowers Cake [balloon] (just trying that last one on the off chance it will give you a balloon lol!) How come you tested early? Did you have symptoms? What do you mean about doing everything wrong? Clearly you did something right!!! xx

Issie339 · 22/07/2015 21:03

Thanks violet you absolutely HAVE to get your bfp next month now as it would mean we'd both be having babies in April Grin my EDD is 2nd April according to NHS website.

I had dull stabbing pains since late yesterday and aching and suspected earlier today I could be pregnant so did a test when I got home from work and yes BFP!

This month we only dtd every 2-3 days instead of every day, I drank copious amounts of strong coffee all month and we were on hols around ov so I was having a few drinks every night too. Can't believe that this turns out to be the month, Sod's law.

Issie339 · 22/07/2015 21:05

I did start taking vitamin B6 this month though so maybe that did the job, who knows

Issie I wish I had done something nice to tell him in some way but I woke him up on a Saturday morning and just said I'm pregnant!

He still isn't too happy actually. He wasn't very committed to ttc as he wasn't ready. I managed to convince him by saying I had a feeling it was gonna take us ages and ages. I was wrong. He is starting to get used to the idea now. We haven't told anyone else in real life. I hope by the time we do he will be a bit happy or 'fake it till you make it'.
He just keeps going on about all of the negatives but they're silly things - like can we afford the nursery fees and still have the lifestyle we have now! We earn far far more than most couples our age, and most couples we know - so I wonder what the hell he is on about. But really I think it's just a cover cause he can't bring himself to say "I'm not happy" to me.

Erm, that was a bit emotional for me to write down actually. End it on a positive... I plan to announce to our families and friends with cupcakes showing cutie baby things on them!

Issie339 · 22/07/2015 21:29

Oh mrs I'm sorry you're going through that Flowers as soon as the baby arrives (if not before) it will all change and he will be totally in love with your baby, don't worry about that. I think pregnancy can be really unreal for men, it's all a bit scary and unknown and there's a lot to take in. I'm sure he'll get his head around it soon.

The cupcake idea sounds lovely
