Congratulations far! A baby boy Thanks Wow! How exciting!

One, our house is a small, cosy, comfy 2-bed cottage. We extended downstairs after dd2 was born which made a huge difference, but can't upstairs. We've one single and one double bedroom. The only option with another child is for the children to share the double bedroom and for us to move into the single, but I don't think that's entirely practical. Storage is also another thorny issue - we don't have enough as it is.

The area is very expensive and has an outstanding school where dd1 is very happy. Dd2 will attend from September. It's nice here and we'd like to stay but houses are either small and relatively affordable (like ours), or large and expensive. There's not much middle-ground. We could move to a surrounding area but would then be out of catchment.

We can afford another child and could afford to pay more each month, but saving the required big deposit is what will take time.

And by time, I mean tiiiiiiiiiiiime ...

Molotov · 20/05/2015 14:32

Grin keep, just seeing what happens would be refreshing. I'm stuck in a worry rut and would like to get out!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 20/05/2015 15:55

Far GrinGrinGrin to great scan news! How lovely that it's a little boy. Is that from the blood test part of the harmony test?

Gob great to hear your scan went well. There are quite a few of you at similar stages now.

Beedle I did need to have my screening bloods done again (HIV, Hepatitis etc) but they told me that was as they like them to have been within the last 2 years but it seems to depend on the clinic. They also did a baseline scan on me. They where happy to accept everything else from the previous clinic. I can understand why you might want to stay were you are as they seem pretty good. I would say it's definitely worth checking out the other clinics though just so you can make an informed decision

Keep July will be here before you know it Smile

Mol we live in a 2 bedroom terrace and I'm already running out of space without baby even being here!

I've just got back from the hospital. Scan was ok, baby is indeed there. He is 5lb 13oz already and growth wise was plotting on 50th centile. He is transverse now, am a bit gutted as last night midwife was convinced he was head down. Oh well he's still got time to move. We were there a few hours as they wanted another trace of baby's heartbeat. That seemed fine and I've been given a consultants appointment for 2 weeks for a review.

jaggythistle · 20/05/2015 21:32

Hi all, just marking place for proper look later...

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 21/05/2015 07:42

Just a quickie, will try and catch up properly soon, I think I ovulated yesterday, had squits, plus ovulation pains galore, no cm today and temp dip this morning .....oh and just happened to DTD on Tuesday night, so proud of DH, 3 failed attempts but fourth time lucky Grin plus may have been some sperm still knocking about from late Friday nights attempt. So either way we are in with a good chance and officially in the 2ww at long last! Cd33 today, so in theory I think would be a 46 day cycle, will be 12 dpo on the day I'm due to see consultant. Am confident I should be able to get a prescription for more progesterone on the day if I get a BFP. But do you think they would be able to take a quick look at the location whilst I was there to start the clexane immediately? Would only take a few minutes of the epau time and it's a 45 min journey to get to the hospital and I've got child care arranged already which is costing a fair bit so I can go without the boys. But not sure if they would do it or not? (trying not to get ahead of myself, but as I have got a BFP every single time first month of trying, it's high probability that it will happen again this month, although my brain thinks law of averages should kick in at some point and not give us a BFP)

BeedlesPineNeedles · 21/05/2015 07:52

far congratulations :o

cups glad mini-cups was looking ok :-) Will it cause problems if he doesn't move? CS? You can't blame him really, would you like to spend the next 5 weeks standing on your head? :o

We've both had the screening blood tests done again recently for teh same reason. I think we'll try to speak to one of the nurses when/if we're in for the FET to see how it works if we fund our own treatment there. We're not 100% sure we can yet - as in they may be too busy with the "free" treatment to allow us to pay. The good news is that they have accepted us for the FET this cycle, we got the paperwork yesterday, so I'll be starting with the ov sticks again on Sunday/Monday.

keep yes this will be FET no 3, 3rd time lucky right?

BeedlesPineNeedles · 21/05/2015 07:57

loopy do you mean have a scan a 12dpo? Would they actually be able to see anything that early? Glad you think you have Ov'd and that MrLoopy managed his bit too!

Withalittlesparkle · 21/05/2015 08:09

Loopy id imagine it would be too early, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 21/05/2015 09:26

Beedle yay to starting FET this month. It will be 3rd time lucky, I'm Brooking no argument on that front. That's good you've recently had the bloods repeated so hopefully that's one less thing to pay for if you go private

Loopy well done to you (and DH) on smacking that rat! I can't imagine they would do a scan as it would be too early. When I had bleeding after my first IVF BFP they would only do blood seven though they were concerned it could be ectopic. I still had to wait till 6 weeks for a scan

If baby doesn't move I will be heading for a CS. I'm doing lots of exercises to encourage him to move so fingers crossed. I'm quite keen for a normal delivery if poss but if I need a section I'll just have to accept it. It would be awkward though as we have no family nearby and DH might need to take more time off work

keepitgoing · 21/05/2015 10:15

was the placenta not too low then cups?

crack on beedle Smile

loopy I had a scan at 5 weeks exactly. you could see enough to see it was in the right place but 12dpo? I'm sure that's too early

OP posts:
NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 21/05/2015 11:27

Placenta was fine Keep, I'd completely forgotten about that even though it was the main reason for having the scan Grin

I appear to have lost my brain the last few weeks much to DHs amusement. This mornings highlight has been filling my cup with cold milk with teabag in there and pouring hot water over my cereal Blush the dog was very appreciative of the soggy Cheerios

keepitgoing · 21/05/2015 11:42
Grin but transverse is halfway to head down!! he's just turning slowly... god that must be uncomfortable, how is there space sideways, and you're only little...
OP posts:
NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 21/05/2015 14:32

Just seen the midwife, she thinks he was moving into the right position and has just decided to stay where he is Confused I'm pretty uncomfortable to be honest. I can actually see his head sticking out of my right side which is freaky. Well the plan from today is he has until 2nd June to move or it's a section. I'm on a daily plan of yoga, being on all fours and bouncing on my ball Grin

cartoontrickster · 21/05/2015 14:33

far amazing news on the little boy! I guess you had the harmony? how did that go?
cups brooking he is just turning slowly. he is already heavier than N was at birth!
mol my garden could also use a make over Wink

you don't need to feel like a fraud being Here at all. I am just as indecisive as you! I think it's great that you are able to talk through it all.
bugger have forgotten everything else.
keep I think you have an appointment booked now, brooking you can get started soon.
do we perhaps need a list of where everyone is at?

Withalittlesparkle · 21/05/2015 14:34

Bounce cup like you've never bounced before!!

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 21/05/2015 15:57

Thanks for opinions re scans. I have had early scans for the purpose of checking the stage of pregnancy because of my longer cycles, and scans to check for heartbeats, but I've never had to have a scan purely to check the location to make sure a pregnancy isn't ectopic. So wasn't sure how early they could do that, just to see where the blob would be implanted. I know the consultant said the sooner I start clexane after next BFP the better, as that should fix my risks from testing positive for lupus anti coagulant. As I have lost the last 3 pregnancies so early, I know 6 weeks is likely to be too late to scan me, but wasn't sure how early they can do a location scan. I will see if the consultant can shed some light, just don't like bothering them as am aware just how busy they are at the moment. Roll on the next week ish, so I can do a test and see if it's 7th BFP time or not.

Far good news re your scan and cups I hope he moves to head down pronto!

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 21/05/2015 15:59

( and from the recurrent miscarriage thread I have heard people say that the doctors have been able to see on scans what side someone had just ovulated from, so thought it might not be too out there to think they might be able to do a very early scan for location purposes)

cartoontrickster · 21/05/2015 17:03

actually loopy that does sound familiar. but have no idea whether that means they could rule out an ectopic that early. would be worth an ask I think, even if it would be too early too see much else.

Pastamancer · 21/05/2015 18:26

Brooking that Minicup moves into the right position.

Brooking that Loopy gets a sticky, non eptopic bfp next week ish

Brooking that this will be Beedle's last cycle as it will be successful

Brooking that Mol gets a move on and realises what is blatently obvious to the rest of us.

Brooking that Far's boy keeps growing nicely and stays low risk

Brooking that Imps manages to stay in the country for at least a week before her next holiday Wink

Brooking for everything else that I've forgotten

The hut where my Guides meet is in desperate need of replacing as it is falling down around us. We have planning permission but have to raise roughly £250k to get the work done. This is a heck of a lot of money but even harder for us as we are in the poorest part of the UK. I have nominated us on the Giving Week thread and would be extremely grateful if anyone could vote for us. It is Trethosa Hut Project. Thanks

keepitgoing · 21/05/2015 19:55

loopy are you at high risk of ectopic or something? if just normal risk why not start the clexane, wait till you can see something. they can tell which side you've ovulated as the can see the burst corpus luteum, which is relatively big. not because they can see the egg floating down the tube Grin

trix n was diddy was he when born?

cups he's turning, just slowly. I'm brooking no argument. that must be freaky seeing his head bulge out. can't be that nice for him either, silly boy. can you not push his head down?... I've read put hot by your foof and cold up top, though it could be the other way round... sure there ate loads of old wives tales! what week would they do a CS if it ends up like that? 40?

OK. I really want to be pregnant again now. CD 7. I'm with imps getting a fufc. bring it

OP posts:
cartoontrickster · 21/05/2015 20:34

Yes keep he was 5lbs 9oz but I was induced at 38wks so he missed a bit of fattening up time!

Imps9 · 21/05/2015 22:18

I may have to let you down Pasta - am off camping this weekend so I won't quite have been back in the UK for a week ;)

keepitgoing · 22/05/2015 08:17

imps you're never home!! clearly lawyers get too much holiday Wink have you started your PT hours yet?

I've had a busy week as dh was away so having yi do nursery pick up and drop offs, normally he does mornings so I get in early. feel like I've been rushing round like a mad thing. he's back now though

OP posts:
Imps9 · 22/05/2015 19:14

Not nearly enough Keep! Why do you think I reduced my hours?!

Well done on what sounds like a tough week. Aaaaannnndddd relax...
