The Rules of Bumsnet

  1. Don't talk about Bumsnet
  2. Get the sperm in the hole
  3. Don't LPB. It's frowned upon.

Hi Sammy, I'm ok thanks, I have good and bad days at the moment but I'm trying to move ahead with things. I agree with the others and think you should go ahead with your treatment as soon as you can. Like you said you still have two more months to go yet but I don't buy into the whole hycosy thing helping either really. You have waited long enough and it's your turn now so just go for it.

Purdie, a hysteroscopy in my clinic in the UK is £350 or £450 including the scratch. In Reprofit it's around £200 and only £85 in Gennet but I emailed Gennet a couple of days ago and they wouldn't let me have it there. Can only have it after the initial consultation when you are a confirmed patient of theirs. I'm undecided whether to have it now or not. My doctor says she thinks it highly unlikely to show anything but I kind of still want to do it for my own peace of mind but still thinking about it at the moment.

Pixa · 13/05/2015 22:00

Rainy thanks! I hope we don't have to wait the three months. Exercise is a good stress relief too, I love a nice run.

Sammy that was a huge update from you. I am hoping your appointment goes well tomorrow.

CD8 here, so to echo Woolly, it's cock o clock! Hoping I can cheer DH up, he is worried about his appointment with the docs tomorrow.

wotsits1 · 13/05/2015 22:07

Sammy I don't think you're rushing it either. You've waited such a long time as it is. Hope ur appt goes well tomorrow!

spinningirl10 · 13/05/2015 22:10

Oh feck it!!!! I've just spent ages writing a big post and MN has eaten it!!!!Angry

spinningirl10 · 13/05/2015 22:10

What does it do that?! So bloody annoying!

glitteryflange · 13/05/2015 22:12

Nomio - Yes orlistat is the same as Alli. Maybe a bit stronger though I think?

Purds- not sure about taking speed. My days of recreational drug use are very much over. Can't even handle a joint. I always green out. So alcohol was my only vice.

spinningirl10 · 13/05/2015 22:16

Eskimo, I agree with you about the animal cruelty in Spain. I lived there for 2 years and heard some heartbreaking storiesSad

Pug, no more af related incidents thankfully! Good to hear your body seems to be returning to normal. Fx for a sticky BFP soon.

Pixa, I'm good thanks, just waiting for af to finish. I hate af! Where are you in your cycle?

Lucie, good to hear you're making plans and looking ahead. Can't believe how the wait list for Gennet has grown!

Sammy, I don't think you're rushing it, you've been waiting for ages. Go to your appointment and report back. We're all rooting for you.

Sorry if I've missed anyone, wrote fast,
Don't want to lose another post!

juneybean · 13/05/2015 22:19

loopylou1984 · 13/05/2015 22:41

Lol Pixa, that's because I hadn't posted in ages!

Purdie - don't worry, my hopes aren't up... They're never up anymore. Although I am laying here with my bum on a pillow so I guess I must have some hope left.

Spinning- yes, of course I'll update. Will do so after work!

In positive news we just had the best CoC ttc sex we've had in ages! Smile

Nomio230 · 13/05/2015 22:43

Juney & Sexy sitting in a tree...

K I S S I N G!

Spinning, I always think AF seems worse when it is hot for some reason. It must be horrible out there in summer!

I have often wondered why they can't just make a useful drug out of speed. There must be some way to make it safe, but still have the skinniness & energy bits

ibeka · 13/05/2015 22:51

Evening all. I am recovering from the extremely harrowing experience of taking 30 'hard to reach' teenagers to the theatre in central London. At rush hour. Not exactly the stress free tww I promised myself!! In more exciting news, I got my angry pubes today! Confirming OV at CD16 on Sunday.

tessie and night, thanks for your comments about the dog. He is not ill particularly but coming up to 14, which is absolutely ancient for a lab!

eskimo, I agree, Spain have a terrible animal rights record. Unfortunately I'm not sure Italy is much better. My auntie works as an animal welfare volunteer there and is always off battling some inhumane "tradition" or another. That said, I love Spain. I studied Spanish for A-Level and part of a degree and the Spain I got to know and love was the warm, fun-loving, poetic and deeply caring (about other humans) place that I was shown by my tutors and my time spent there before I knew of less palatable areas. I guess it's hard for me to write off all I know and love, much as I despise their view of animal welfare.

juney LOL at asking the dad! Then your sprog would be what, Ms Sexy's child (assuming things go well Wink) and sibling?! As purds would say, you filthy tart!

Sorry to those of you whose AFs have shown up.... What a bitch Flowers

fig, yes, you temp at roughly the same time each morning, before getting out of bed. I do mine when I first wake (somewhere between 5.30 and 7 when the alarm goes). If I wake in the night before about 3/4am I go for a wee then sleep again until the alarm at 7. If I wake after that but before 5.30 I make myself pretend very hard I am asleep until I fall back to sleep. So far it's worked OK.mthe only times I've had to disregard temps was when very drunk and not going to bed until 3am.... Shock

loopylou1984 · 13/05/2015 23:03

Ibeka - that sounds horrendous!! Well fine you thou Smile

eskimoflo · 13/05/2015 23:09

I just bribed my DH to do SMEP by giving him the last Easter egg Grin He'd better stick to his side of the bargain now!

ibeka I visit Italy a lot, and one of my best friends is Italian (from Milan and now lives in Rome). I agree that they have some outdated traditions, but there is no bullfighting, no starving dogs on every street corner, no hanging dogs from trees, no horse wrestling (WTF) and no overloading donkeys until they can't stand. Yes, there are heart-breakingly overheated and skinny horses pulling around carriages full of tourists and their treatment of certain farm animals needs seriously looking at, but the Italians love their pets, there is no denying that! Cats and dogs are generally well-cared for and instead of lying around in the street or hanging around restaurants begging for food, you see them out on leads being taken for walks, or in the homes. No country is perfect in their treatment of animals, but Italy are years ahead compared to Spain.

DizzyNorthernBird · 14/05/2015 00:41

pug I'm ok thanks, still a bit down in the dumps but I can blame hormones I suppose! That's good that you're feeling your body get back to normal, hopefully your chart will settle down soon.

pixa thanks for the gesture Grin I like the idea of doing something creative as a distraction but I'm not sure what really......
Ooh and DP and I nearly booked a log cabin holiday with hot tub, I'm very jel!

eskimo my sister lives in Spain, she's taken in three cats and a dog, and many more strays which she's since rehomed. There's a fellow Brit near her who runs an animal shelter for mistreated and abandoned pets. So thankfully there are a few over there who can make a difference for some poor pooches and moggies. I haven't heard about these greyhound dogs, will look it up, although it'll probably make me cry Blush

nightandthelight · 14/05/2015 08:09

CD8 and a flashing smiley. On the one hand I am chuffed that I have something other than the blank circles that I got all last cycle but on the other I am gutted that it looks as though I will ov early again :(

loopylou1984 · 14/05/2015 08:33

Night, all is not lost, sometimes I get several days of flashy before my peak so you might not get peak till say cd11 then ov on 12... That wouldn't be too bad. Xx

nightandthelight · 14/05/2015 08:35

Thanks Sammy :) I would be really chuffed with CD12 as that is in the normal range! Fx I get a few days of high before I peak :) DH has been told to be ready for me when I get home Grin

glitteryflange · 14/05/2015 08:51

Night I get 5 days of flashy. I know before I do the OPK. Next Friday will be my peak face so I usually do an OPK Sunday. Tues. Wed. Thurs. All flashy - peak Friday.

CD8 here. Going to start DTD tonight to get Spermz up ready and waiting!

nightandthelight · 14/05/2015 08:59

Thanks glittery :) get those sperm up you!

nightandthelight · 14/05/2015 09:06

Eskimo I have sponsored a galgos! Can't wait for them to let me know which one they have picked for me :)

I spoke to the friend whose villa it is and he says the area it is in (full of wealthy Brits) isn't a problem and the worst I will see is some stray cats (will stash some dreamies in my bag). DH has promised to rip limb from limb anyone we see mistreating an animal!

Pikz · 14/05/2015 09:17

Sparkly sending you so much love

Sammy if it was me I'd wait a couple of months first but that's just because I've been in this infertility game a long time and I know that I conceived post a lap, hysteroscopy and dye last time

Lucie hope you are doing ok....its £3-400 at my clinic too

I am so behind at work so struggling to keep up here....sorry :(

Purdie FF confirmed OV and I agree with it...shall see what the soy does now....

Bumsnetters with Angry Pubes
Pikz · 14/05/2015 09:51

Woolly I would say day 17...same as me

Woolly84 · 14/05/2015 09:59

Thanks pikz that's what I thought too, fx it confirms it soon. First cycle temping so nothing to compare to! Xx

DizzyNorthernBird · 14/05/2015 10:26

Hi woolly I'm ok thanks. Just really fed up, for some reason the appearance of AF has really got to me this cycle. I usually accept it and move on without being to bothered but I think I deep down I must have got my hopes up this time more than I'd thought. Even though I'd had no symptoms, dtd was so well timed and DP and I both said we had a feeling April would be our month. I'm so disappointed it wasn't. I know some of you on here have been trying for way longer than me and are having a particularly challenging time ttc so I feel silly for being so down about this, it's only been 5 months for gods sake but I honestly thought it would have happened by now! Im a great believer in fate and I know there's a reason for this wait but it doesn't make it any less hard or frustrating in the meantime Sad.

Anyway, sorry for being mopey. woolly now there's a couple more days of temps I'd be inclined to say cd17 too. Fx for you! I find charting fascinating and I look forward to bedtime because I'm always excited about what my temp will be in the morning! Blush I wish I could fast forward two weeks & be waiting for ov to be confirmed!

night which area of Spain did you say you were going to again? My sis lives in an area full of wealthy Brits too. (She's not one of the wealthy ones tho lol)
