The Rules of Bumsnet

  1. Don't talk about Bumsnet
  2. Get the sperm in the hole
  3. Don't LPB. It's frowned upon.

Bless you night You will have a fab time and you can get straight on the boycott when you get back! There are lots of ex-pats out there who are raising awareness and helping the cause, which is what it needs. How about making a donation to a Galgo rescue before you go? That way, you will be helping the charity and having a nice holiday too? The website for Galgos del Sol is here galgosdelsol.org/

eskimoflo · 13/05/2015 19:54

It's really easy to donate, as they are a registered charity both in the UK and in Spain and therefore you can donate by PayPal or they have their own Just Giving page x x

Rainy34 · 13/05/2015 20:07

Sparkly sorry to hear you are having such a rough time, just keep thinking it will be all worth it when you hold the little bubba, dont worry about us, concentrate on getting better x x

Pixa · 13/05/2015 20:09

Sparkly you are so missed, we are all thinking of you and I hope you are well soon.

Nomio and DizzyNorth I am sticking two fingers up at AF for you.

DizzyNorth I know what you mean about channelling your energy into something else, and about the baby bombs. At the minute pallet furniture and 1940s style vintage aprons are keeping me busy. I recommend finding a vice.

Spinning how are you today?

Queen It's so good to see you are feeling better. How is the holiday planning coming along?

Nomio Hope your DH is feeling better too! I am up for a giant bumsnet holiday. Maldives anyone?

Juney I am a fellow July baby! Your romance sounds like it's going great.

Rainy sorry, miscommunication. I have been trying for around 9 months, that's why we have another thread months to wait. The doctor said it's normal to be trying up to two years for a first child, which is why I was shocked. How are you feeling after your run yesterday?

Woolly Yay for peak!

Melon the wait is awful, as always though, fingers crossed for you!

Glittery Hoping for positive results for you, I didn't realise the results take so long to come back.

Eskimo Fingers crossed for you. Horrible about the dogs. Sad

Night Enjoy your holiday, I love the countdown!

Waves to Pug.

Sorry to those I have missed.

glitteryflange · 13/05/2015 20:25

God this cold isn't even fully blown yet and I can't hear, taste or not blow/wipe my nose for 5 mins. Boss told me I look grey today. Thanks!

Ah I know it's probably sooner but I have to go back for bloods between day 2-4 of my next period.
Then I have a scan in July.
Then me and DH have a joint appointment in August. 1stly to see how my fat fighting is going and to get all results. Waste of time me thinks as I cannot get to 8st 8lb by August. I'm 15st 7lb now for fuck sake. Lol! I have doctors on the 26th May I will ask if I can just be checked/scanned without being lectured about my weight. Starting to get depressed about it all. Feel like I'm letting everyone down because I didn't care what went in my gob for years.

Anyway, I'm really trying and taking my orlistat so hopefully even if I don't achieve that weight at least a good stone and half before then will show I am committed right? And even that may help me fall cheggers?

Nomio how are you getting on with your healthy eating? How are you?

Hope everyone else is good ??

When are we due more BFP's!?

The baby bombs as frustrating and brilliant for them as they are - they do keep me going. Gives me hope innit.

nightandthelight · 13/05/2015 20:43

Thanks Eskimo! Will definitely donate :) I fear for any Spaniard who DH sees abusing a dog!

Thanks pixa, am very much looking forward to some sun :)

Sounds like you are doing amazingly well glittery and I am sure that the weight you have lost already will show the docs how committed you are :)

nightandthelight · 13/05/2015 20:48

Am looking at the website Eskimo and I have fallen in love!

eskimoflo · 13/05/2015 20:50

They're bloody gorgeous aren't they Night! I have been looking too, and I think I might even sponsor one. Smile

nightandthelight · 13/05/2015 20:52

Ooh can you do that? DH sponsors a dog called Apples from Dogs Trust so I should sponsor a galgo :) Would love to adopt one but don't think my feline children will appreciate that :(

Rainy34 · 13/05/2015 20:53

Pixa sorry i read your thread wrong, the three months will go fast but hopefully you won't need take up on the referral, I felt really good after my run last night, got a great nights sleep, just a bit achey today, we are thinking of going running tomorrow, we are going to try and do a run twice a week, hoping the exercise might help me in some way to conceive

glitteryflange · 13/05/2015 20:59

Thanks night Smile x

Rainy you go girl! x

eskimoflo · 13/05/2015 21:00

You can do it! There is a page on the site. You choose one of them and you also choose the amount that you want to donate per month. I have also been looking at the page for the new centre that they are building, and it gives a blog type update of the progress that they are making. Would love to feel that I had contributed in a small way.

nightandthelight · 13/05/2015 21:04

I am going to want to sponsor them all!

loopylou1984 · 13/05/2015 21:06

Catch up time!
I have started from Yesterday morning so mammoth post coming up!!

Pixa - exciting news about booking a holiday, a log cabin sounds perfect smile

Glittery I'm looking for an egg storing something... might check the egg house out. Also, just LOLd at your dhs phone porn sound effects!
Glittery, you can do this weight loss thing. Not down to 8st, that's insane, but yes, show you are committed. I did LOL at 'cheggers' though!

Lucie Hope you're ok? Sounds like you're getting a new plan together.

Purdie A laptop on the beach...and they phone IT?? Were you meant to fix it??
Poor Sparkly if you speak to her again tell her I hope she feels better soon, and that of course she I missed, but not to worry about not catching up, we know she is thinking of us smile

DizzyM I considered acupuncture, much like you I thought it couldn't hurt, but never got round to bookin it, I think a little part of me was to scared of the needles.... IVF prep could be interesting!

Rainy 'have lots of sex' annoys me so much - 'oh ok, that's what I've been doing wrong'
Well done on the run, I wish I could run, but I just get bored!

Pixa glad your dr listened to you and you have a plan.

Fig hooray for the thermometer!! Yes take your temp as soon as you wake up...don't move too much before hand!

Oyster Blimey, that's a lot of dtd...20 times in 10 days!!! Bring on the BFP! Glad you're having a lovely time!

Nomio Sorry for AF, but glad the progesterone is working well smile

Queen Hope you feel better soon. Oh you are good smile, glad you managed to dtd

Juney Hope the dates going well?

Dizzy Sorry AF got you sad, but yay for not wasting a test!!

Woolly Cock o' clock!!! Fingers crossed for ov for you.

Night Grapefruit juice is rank! I mix mine with blueberry juice to take the edge off!

Melon Hope AF stays away

Eskimo I hope this is ov for you, good luck! Poor Spanish doggies, that's horrible sad I love greyhounds.

Pug Agreed, we need a friendly inviting thread title

Oh no Tessie you're poorly too, get well soon.

Waves to anyone I missed Xx

loopylou1984 · 13/05/2015 21:07

AFM - I have a private consultant appointment tomorrow which I was excited about until I called my parents to discuss the money side (Clinic needs card details on file) and my dad said 'aren't you going to see if the HyCoSy makes a difference first' - now I'm worried I'm rushing it to this, should I be leaving it more than a month? I mean we won't get started next cycle anyway, so it'll be 2 more months I'm sure...but am I rushing?? DH isn't coming with me tomorrow as he's away, so I think I'm just over thinking things sad

We dtd last night, and going to do tonight too as hes away tomorrow, then do Friday by which point I should have had a pos opk so might do sat too! Xx

nightandthelight · 13/05/2015 21:11

I'm sure your parents will understand Sammy that you have been trying a long time and this really isn't rushing for you. When did you tell them everything?

Nomio230 · 13/05/2015 21:15

Eskimo, I refuse to go to Spain too. For a supposedly developed country the way they treat animals is absolutely disgusting. I have never been & never will until things change.

Glittery, is Orlistat the same as that Alli stuff? If so, my sister had it. She found it did help her lose weight, but it affected her IBS somehow, so she stopped.

I have been too ill to eat much lately, so have lost a bit of weight, but now I am feeling better I want to get back to the gym.

I agree that there is no way you will lose half your weight by August, but you can definitely make a big difference. We will get there together!

nightandthelight · 13/05/2015 21:18

I feel awful about going to Spain now :( Good on you Eskimo and nomio for the boycott!

purdiepie · 13/05/2015 21:19

Lucie, thanks, love, I've asked my coordinator at Gennet to put my name on the list Grin How much does a hysteroscopy cost over here? Surely not hundreds of ££'s? They're only £85 at Gennet and that includes the scratch! It seems a cheaper alternative to fly to Gennet just for the hysteroscopy. What do you think?

Eskimo, I am in complete agreement with you about Spain and animal cruelty. They've always been an inhumane bunch of Luddites. I wouldn't go to Dubai either (evil, woman-hating, anti-Christ shitheads).
Eskimo, can you get your 'day 28' blood test put back to day 32? A static smiley today would indicate (for a normal person) ovulation will occur in two days' time, no? so CD25 for you. A blood test on CD32 would be ideal. Remember you know more than your gp when it comes to ov stick results and days past ovulation.

Night, you could end up ruling out almost every country for some kind of atrocity when it comes to choosing holiday destinations, but you have to go with your own heart. I almost didn't go to Thailand because of the people trafficking/prostitute racket but I realised I cared more about beautiful beaches and cheap-as-chips accommodation and drugs than I did some poor Thai kid being bummed by Gary Glitter.

purdiepie · 13/05/2015 21:20

(Ditto Vietnam).

Nomio230 · 13/05/2015 21:21

Sammy, I think it is perfectly understandable that you want to get started straight away. You have done nothing but wait for years, and now you have a way forward. I don't believe the hycosy thing.

Everyone has heard this myth about people getting pregnant the month after, but it hasn't happened to anyone on here!

DizzyMerry · 13/05/2015 21:27

Sammy I don't think you're rushing into anything. You have thought long and hard about this. It's the month after month of heartache and tears that lead you to this decision. I don't believe the myth about this 'spring clean' either. I was told it would happen after my laps but it didn't.

loopylou1984 · 13/05/2015 21:35

Thanks everyone, I know this is right for us really.
Night, well they've known for ages that we were trying but I only told them how much it was affecting me last Monday. Don't get me wrong, they've said do whatever feels right. Dad just made me think about things a bit more. Xx

eskimoflo · 13/05/2015 21:36

Hmmm purds I am wondering if I can change it now? Maybe I could still go on Monday morning and ask the Nurse what she thinks? Just explain the situation? She might book me in then? Aaargh! It's such a minefield! Still, I can but try?

Didn't sparklyget preggo the month after her HyCoSy? Hmm

purdiepie · 13/05/2015 21:39

Sammy, you've waited long enough and I don't want you to raise your hopes about a miraculous post-hysteroscopy BFP. These success stories are largely anecdotal, just like those 'you are super-fertile for three months after a lap and dye/miscarriage'. Completely unhelpful codswallop, IMO.

Night, have you thought about Bucklins?

Glittery, have you thought about amphetamines

Well done, achy-breaky Rainy!

Pug, I love it that you are back posting (although not the circumstances under which you returned Sad). Same with Ibeka; you were both missed tons. I am glad you are having ferning and cervix signals, so exciting to feel our bodies getting back to normal after mc.

I have shared all of your loveliness and concern for Sparkly with her. I have told her the days of massive catch-ups for her are gone and she must rest up and think of herself for a change. I've told her she is missed and well-loved by everyone here Smile

The washed-up laptop was treated Very Seriously apparently. Nobody thought to see if a non-swimming member of staff was missing, though, which I thought was a bit off. Surely there is a likelihood that some desperately depressed and stressed out IT chap had had enough and sauntered, all Virginia Woolf-like, into th'Irish Sea?

I will happily create the new thread. Please remind me nearer the time - and remind me to include Woolly's cock o'clock in the OP. Priceless Grin

Juney, get your love egg-plugged arse back on this forum, you filthy tart!
