OMG how many bfps have you lot managed in the last few weeks? Congratulations to all Flowers

nest welcome, I won't introduce myself as if you've been lurking that long you'll know who I am! Glad you have joined us.

So after a lot of umming and arring (though not as much as molotov) we decided to go ahead with a FET this month, so one of the embryos was defrosted and put back on Thursday. The other is still frozen. I managed to persuade the dr to give me progesterone supplements as ovulation was quite late for me, I don't actually think its a problem. But its good to have the reassurance, plus I've read that progesterone supplements on a natural FET can increase our chances. OTD isn't until the 15th and I've only managed to buy CB digi tests as Amazon want a ridiculous amount of money in postage now, so no FRER.

Molotov · 03/05/2015 09:46

I think I need some sort of 'uhmm, ahhh' prize Wink

hinkyhonk · 03/05/2015 10:43

beedle fingers are so tightly crossed for you here. You so deserve it. I'm an ivf ignoramus, is the FET a fertile embryo transfer? Was going to ask about the odds but I've given up on statistics. It really doesn't matter in the end if it works or doesn't. They are just numbers.

My scan is on 15th. Feel like my symptoms have lifted so am dreading it slightly. God there is no fun in this baby thing anymore... Also been sorting through some storage bags with maternity clothes in as I'm busting out of my jeans (it's mostly just fat though as I'm eating for England Blush) have siphoned off all the Orem baby clothes and tiny baby stuff. Can't bear to look at some of it so I'm going for the hiding it away and burying my head in the sand approach. Mature....

Pastamancer · 03/05/2015 16:21

Everything crossed for you Beedle

DD2 is 7 weeks today and I am almost 1 1/2 stone lighter than my pre pregnancy weight. I've also been told that I only have a 10% chance of a PPH if I have another which is great as normally they say there is a 5% chance. Only increasing by 5% is good but they did say that I would need to be in the maternity hospital and they would have a shedload of drugs to pump into me as soon as the baby is out.

Imps9 · 03/05/2015 22:56

Ohhhhh Beedle brooking NO argument that your little frostie stays put. I hope you're okay and can keep the mentalling at bay as much as possible.

Sparks I can't believe that you're 9 weeks already!

Far what's Harmony testing?

Withalittlesparkle · 03/05/2015 23:07

Beedles where abouts are you now? Good luck with this sticky one, fingers crossed

Imps I'm 9+3 by dates but think in reality I'm closer to 8+3 due to cycle length! Will know better on Saturday!

Have you managed more of the sex?

BeedlesPineNeedles · 04/05/2015 09:47

sparks I'm 6dpo (it was only a 2 day embryo) going on usual cycle length AF is due at the weekend, but obviously I'm hoping it won't arrive for another year or so!

imps when do you think your next IVF will be? Not that you'll need it as you'll be announcing your BFP next week :o

Molotov · 04/05/2015 19:49

Hi everyone, hope you've all had a splendid Bank Holiday weekend Smile. Lovely news about the newest addition to the royal family: I personally love the name Charlotte and think Charlotte Elizabeth Diana is a genuinely touching tribute.

Ours was fun and family-oriented, although I did kind of have a chat with my DM about possibly having another baby which made my heart sink a bit yesterday. DH got overexcited in a department store from seeing a newborn baby on the same floor where toys and prams are kept. He said that he can't wait to have another baby; I was glancing the iCandy prams and Mum, tongue-in-cheek said 'so are you planning your next one?'

I said that DH is really broody but I'm not sure ... Then DM reeled off all the worries that I have as to why we should really think (she doesn't know about how long this has been on my mind for). She clearly thinks my hands are full with the 2 dds we have: yes, babies are lovely but they grow - imagine juggling 3: it's all very well DH being broody but he's not the one who carries the baby/gives birth/recovers, etc. She said our house is already bursting at the seams (it is) and we would have to move ... Then the age-gap issue: it's now or never as if we do it when dd2 is 5 or so, the gap is too big for our family.

Me: But we don't have any extended family; they don't have any cousins. Wouldn't it be good to give them one more sibling?
Mum: No. We're already a nice little family. They don't need that.

She then told me about a friend of hers who had a third child who completely turned her and everyone's lives upside-down. The problem here is that my DM can make up stories or manipulate the truth to serve her own agenda so this may or may not be true so I cannot honestly get a handle on it. Also, it might have been that her friend's third child is a nightmare - doesn't mean that all third children are.

Then we were out today and I saw a myriad of bumps and newborn babies. I am at a proper genuine crossroad in my life and this shit is hard.

keepitgoing · 05/05/2015 10:46

argh I dropped off and just seen this. beedle everything crossed for you, you have a late otd as usual...

sparks good luck for Saturday

Molotov I think you're driving yourself mad. DTD at the right time this month, chances of a bfp are slim and then you'd either have the bfn test of how you feel, or decision made!

awaiting imps' Hollywood bfp this month Smile

when shall I do my fet? = frozen embryo transfer. I'm thinking July but then am away in early July. June is v soon. eek

BeedlesPineNeedles · 05/05/2015 11:19

don't worry keep I'm sure I'll know one way or teh other a few days before OTD :O

Will it be a natural cycle FET? and will you have to have lots of scans etc? Mine have been really easy, POA OPK every morning ring them when I get the smiley face (they recommend clearblue OPK, but I was using IC as well!), go in 3 days later after a rather stressful morning hoping the phone won't ring to say that they didn't survive defrosting. In and out of the hospital in about 90mins - would have been less but they were running late! I'm on progsterone pessaries but only really for peace of mind - but there is some evidence they improve chances even if it is IVF for male factor.

keepitgoing · 05/05/2015 11:36

I'm not sure beedle, I'd refer natural like you, with fanny candles for surety. but they don't do transfers at the weekend so they might give me drugs Hmm I have 3 frosties and they said 80% defrost success, so even if the first didn't I'd hope we would still be OK, they do them 1 by 1. think I need to go back for a chat now the frosties are back from Thailand. you doing OK?

keepitgoing · 05/05/2015 11:37

mine were frozen on day 5/6

BeedlesPineNeedles · 05/05/2015 12:06

Perhaps you could try natural and then if ET would fall on teh weekend you could just wait and try again next month, or ask them if it is likely to be a problem if they are returned a day early or a day late. Seeing as how there quite a long period of time where the embryo could implant I can't see that it would matter too much for your day5/6 embryos.

I'm doing OK, no real symptoms to report, no sore boobs or anything!

keepitgoing · 05/05/2015 12:11

yeah good idea! it seems crazy to take a load of drugs for no real reason

farfallarocks · 05/05/2015 13:31

Hello brookers!
Just back from a fun weekend glamping on a farm with some friends and their kids. The weather was atrocious but we still had fun and little far loved checking to see if the hens had laid her an egg in the morning so she could 'eat it now!'.

imps I am brooking no argument for a nice ironidiff right on your due date, that will certainly be a bitter sweet day if so. We are going to have to rechristen you 'holiday imps'!

pasta that is impressive, have you been on some mega diet? Good to know the chances of you having another PPH are still slim.

hinky I am also starting to feel a lot better thank goodness, I coul d barely get out of bed last week but of course I am now panicking about that being a bad sign! I also am huge as I can't stop eating!

keep I am voting for June!!1 A lovely spring baby, yeah!

beedle you are PUPO, hurray, brooking for a positive bfp for you

sparkle good luck with your scan!

Harmony is test that extracts the baby's dna from your blood (via blood test) and can tell you with 99% accuracy if the baby has downs or other problems. It is still combined with the usual nuchal scan but just has a higher success rate. We are having the test tomorrow and it takes 10 weeks to come back, nerve-wracking!!

keepitgoing · 05/05/2015 13:58

10 weeks far?? I remember people getting blood taken at 10weeks then results with 12 week scan. surely in 10 weeks time it's rather late

farfallarocks · 05/05/2015 14:48

Sorry that was a typo!! 2 weeks!! So yes you have a blood test at 10 weeks, then at 12 weeks full nuchal bloods and scan and the harmony results.

keepitgoing · 05/05/2015 21:38

ah, another 2ww, I thought so Smile

BeedlesPineNeedles · 07/05/2015 08:28

far hope the test went well yesterday, was it just the blood test yesterday and teh scan in 2 weeks time?

Not much to report in the way of symptoms, on the plus side I'm really tired and I've had a few odd crampy feelings, but on the negative side my boobs aren't sore. Though I am only 9dpo so maybe its a bit early to know :o

I was out for dinner with all my work colleagues last night and was a bit worried about not wanting to drink alcohol, luckily my boss said that the company was paying for food and non-alcholic drinks only, if we wanted alcohol we could pay ourselves. Most people decided soft drinks were ok so I didn't look the odd one out :o I have another work thing on Monday night where alcohol might not be so easily avoided but I'm sure I'll think of something.

hinkyhonk · 07/05/2015 12:26

I don't think my boobs hurt until after the bfp so try not to worry about that. Re Monday, you could always say that you got lashed over the weekend and can't face alcohol again yet? I'm not sure anyone really notices it does really feel like it though!

When is poas time?

Withalittlesparkle · 07/05/2015 12:38

Beedles my boobs didn't feel any different around this BFP

Law of boob
Sore boobs = diffed
Unsore boobs = diffed

BeedlesPineNeedles · 07/05/2015 12:53

hinky fab idea, its been so long since I went out and got pissed that the idea of claiming I was still a little fragile from the weekend didn't even occur to me!

sparks thanks, I know it silly but my boobs get sore most months, why aren't they now!

Official POAS time is still over a week away but I might try to get some IC style tests from teh chemist this evening and if I do I'll probably use one on Sunday am. if I'm feeling brave that is

Withalittlesparkle · 07/05/2015 13:10

Beedles maybe because this isn't a cycle like other cycles Grin I'm not saying this to get your hopes up etc but genuinely the twice I've had BFPs are the months I've had less pregnancy symptoms!!!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 07/05/2015 13:59

Hey rat smackers! I've not checked in with you all in ages. I find it really hard to write posts on my phone.

Beedle Grin you are PUPO! And over a week into the dreaded 2ww. FET sounds so nice compared to a fresh cycle. Well done on avoiding alcohol at your work do. I'm keeping absolutely everything crossed for you x

Imps sounds like you had a blissful holiday. Fingers crossed you only have to wait 3 cycles. I always found this in between time the worst.

Far great scan news Smile I'm so pleased all is going well. I think the harmony test is fab, I know a few IVF ers that have had it. Are you going to find out the sex? I think they do that as part of the DNA blood tests

Sparks and Hinks glad to hear all is good with your little beans too. Sparks is your scan on Saturday?

Keep exciting stuff about the upcoming FET. Have you decided when to do it?

Molotov I don't know if I've commented on your DC3 dilemma before. Personally I would just go for it! I think if your agonising over it this much you won't regret it. I think if you didn't want another you would have realised it by now!

I'm 34 weeks tomorrow, I've finished work. I've got a months annual leave before I start mat leave. Baby is breech and quite high up, am struggling to sit upright as I have his head in my ribs Shock apart from that all is going ok. My anxiety is back big time though, am petrified something is going to happen to him. I'm wishing the weeks away till I get him here safe!

Imps9 · 07/05/2015 19:42

Oooooh Cups helllooooo! 34 weeks! Glad you have time for some feet up action before d-day.

Beedle 2wws suck arse and that is official. I always find the last few days the hardest - so tantalisingly close to a BFP but still potentially so far. You sound pretty chilled - hang in there!

Far I would have used up all my holiday by now (until Jan - yikes) but thanks to shift in hours I should be able to squeeze another week in later in the year.

AFM I have no idea when I ov'd this month. First got pant snot last Monday then had ov pains on Sat which would tie in with normal ov 5 days post first pant snot. But also got ov pain on Sun AND on Mon and then got some more PS on Tuesday. I have concluded that I have ovulated twice and thanks to plenty of shagging action I am now diffed with twins.

Have you all voted yet?
