MrsB No I'm not using OPKs. I'm only on my 2nd cycle so I'm just going for the DTD EOD method and hoping it works.
I have started charting my temps and am keeping an eye on my CM.
Last month I became more observant of my body, much more that I ever had previously and experience strong OV pains on my LHS around CD12.

spinningirl10 · 09/02/2015 15:05

Purdey, that's loads of AI, fab effort. Fx its your month!

Bowie, it's a minefield isn't it! I think just shag as much as possible around ov timeSmile

thenailgirl · 09/02/2015 15:10

Here we are confirmed. Really wouldn't recommend those cheap tests as could only see them when held to light

I have to rely on opk although even then I'm not sure when will be best!

spinningirl10 · 09/02/2015 15:14

Ooh theNail, I think I missed your bfp, Congratulations Grin

thenailgirl · 09/02/2015 15:18

Thankyou xxx

raviolig · 09/02/2015 15:24

Sorry purdey that would be autocorrect and me not checking xx

Nomio230 · 09/02/2015 15:27

purdey I think I am in love with your Dr. Can you take a photo for us next time? Re the AI, it sounds like you have had a really good month. I am convinced you will get pg through sheer determination!

Massive congratulations nailgirl

I am loving all these bfps this month! Smile

MrsGingerbread · 09/02/2015 16:08

purdey What were the stats that scared you about ai?

juney what kind of opks do you have lined up to use? Internet Cheapies or digis?

austral up to you, it wasn't my only reason for my gp visit, but wanted to check out. You CAN overdose on b6, so check out the symptoms of that just in case. (Tingly fingers and toes is one)

I take b6 all month - sorry, this thread moves so fast that I can't remember who asked.

I'm also going to be on the clear blue trial - Yay!

Is anyone here also on the Stork trial? The feedback thread seems to have disappeared..?

Nice work thenailgirl! x

juneybean · 09/02/2015 16:19

MrsG both! Bought some Clear blue digital and have some one step strip tests so I'll do the strips twice a day like 11 am and 5 pm?

I think you use FMU for digital ones is that true?

MrsGingerbread · 09/02/2015 16:26

juney is it the clearblue dual hormone one you have (purple sticks and packaging)?

That one is good as you get 'high' and then 'peak' readings. You start testing on the mornings, but after 'high' you can use it more often.

spinningirl10 · 09/02/2015 16:29

MrsG, there was someone here on the stork trial but I can't remember who! I was wondering how she was getting on last week, maybe she got her bfpGrin

juneybean · 09/02/2015 16:31

Ohh I'm not sure I'll have to look when I get home it was the cheaper one...

PurdeyBirdie · 09/02/2015 16:37

Bowie, I liked your post; I like wrestling with this stuff. I totes get where you're coming from in your spunk analogy. Ov pain: I haven't researched it, simply because I always considered it to be like the G-spot: loads of women say they have one but no-one's ever proved it exists. However, since going on Clomid - which potentiates 'super ovulation' - I have definitely experienced pain around ov. I cannot see pain occurring at a point other than when the egg is at least readying itself to pop out, can you? What does everyone else fink?

Oh, and, Bowie, I'm not supposed to use opks on Clomid (similar reasons to why PCOS folks shouldn't use them) but I do and they are bang-on in relation to when I ovulate.

PurdeyBirdie · 09/02/2015 16:42

Juno, somefink else I've bin finkin' about: if timing of intercourse is so damn futile why do clinics use opks to time ovulation and then inseminate the day after a positive? Why don't they lob sperm up the woman every other day right through the month? Meh!

Rainy34 · 09/02/2015 16:42

MaMaPo this is my first month in taking 100mg Of vitamin B complex and i have seen a difference , it has extended it by two days

congrats on all of the BFP today!!

Purdery your Doc appointment sounded very interesting and sexy !!!

The witch has just got me, got terrible stomach cramps and pain running down my legs, now i know with my cbfa i don't set it till day 1 until tomorrow morning as i have just come on, do you think i should do the same with my app on my phone so they are on the same calendar day, I feel utterly disgusted with myself, i have eaten a whole box of Jaffa cakes, two packets of crisps and i still have the munchies!!

MrsGingerbread · 09/02/2015 16:48

Awww, so sorry rainy. Even though the witch has arrived I'm really pleased for you about your extended lp. Xx

BowiesJumper · 09/02/2015 16:50

I think the more spunk the better really eh Purdey? Ehem.

I've done two opk's today and both neg (although I'd expect that on cd10), just going to do at least 3 a day so I don't miss it. From what I've read, some women with pcos can have generally higher levels of LH and that's why opk's might not work. But that would mean false positives, not false negatives, and as I've not had a positive, maybe they will work for me, who knows. I'm generally an optimist!

Rainy34 · 09/02/2015 16:50

Thanks Mrs G yeah I'm pleased that my lp has extended too, feel like iv made some progress Xx

PurdeyBirdie · 09/02/2015 16:50

Nomio, yes of course you can have a photo of my GP. Would you prefer one with my mouth around his penis or without?

PurdeyBirdie · 09/02/2015 16:53

Ginger, the data showed that IUI was more successful than ICI. I don't care what they say. IUI has notoriously crap success rates so I'm going with my own theory that gallons of sperm inseminated at the cervix over several days has far more potential than the stupid clinical method

juneybean · 09/02/2015 17:06

purdita I didn't use opk for insemination had a wand up my foof twice a week checking on my follicles then when the lead follicle reached 18mm I was given a hcg shot to tell the ovary to release the egg. But obviously it didn't work for me. But I have heard of some women using two vials for IUI but obviously that costs more in the grand scheme of things.

eskimolaura · 09/02/2015 17:08

Hello ladies, so much to catch up on already! Congratulations to those with BFP's Grin and commiserations to those caught by the witch Sad

I am currently cd18. Last night and this morning I noticed that I had EWCM! I thought I'd ovulated already, having got a positive OPK (peak smiley on the clear blue) on Friday morning.

Any thoughts? We DTD Friday, Saturday and yesterday, but were going to have a rest tonight. Is that a bad idea? Can you get EWCM after you've ovulated? If I got my LH surge on Friday morning (or even Thursday night), would that mean that I ovulated on Saturday, Sunday or today? I'm really confused now!

It's my first cycle of TTC, so I don't have a chart or anything...
