I loved Malory Towers, spent the first half of my childhood devastated I didn't go there and the second half devastated I didn't get into Hogwarts :(

ibeka · 04/02/2015 09:58

purdy, I POAS yesterday (bored of waiting). Was negative. If FF is right that was 11DPO so how much hope can I hold out for the next few days...?

spinnign, sorry to hear about your dd's MH problems and her dad's reaction - I hope she never knows he felt that! Services for children can be just as hit or miss as for adults so I hope she has received the support she needs. I see a lot of kid who need help in this way - I think the pressures on them are very different to when we were young and it is sad to see at times.

juneybean · 04/02/2015 10:01

When is your period due ibeka? It's not over til it's over. I have driven myself mad testing too early.

ibeka · 04/02/2015 10:01

Also, spinning, have you looked into any local charity provision for DD? Local branch of mind for example? I got a list from my GP when first diagnosed as NHS wait for therapy was 6 months which was how I found the place I've been using.

ibeka · 04/02/2015 10:08

juney, due tomorrow (I think - 1st proper cycle since stopping pill)...

Sweets27 · 04/02/2015 10:15

Anyone else planning to POAS this weekend? ibeka will you be doing it again then, or before? boris and wishing, how about you?

FX for all of us!

I'm due AF/BFP on Friday and the wait is killing me! Suspect it's BFN given I'm on cycle #1 and not sure I managed to time DTD properly around ovulation, but we'll see...

Wishing123 · 04/02/2015 10:17

Il be doin it on Friday or Saturday if doesn't show up before then..im tryin to get ready for work it I have no energy I feel wiped out and I feel abit sickly..fx this is a good sign! I cnt even bring myself to eat cx

ibeka · 04/02/2015 10:21

sweets I'm not sure... Want to wait until Friday but May do tomorrow as I am not a patient person!!

Hairstylisttoboris · 04/02/2015 10:32

I'm going to POAS on Sunday.
Ovia is telling me to POAS on Saturday but given that I'm not due until Monday /Tuesday I think that's quite early still.
I can't promise not to cave and Pee earlier.
I have a fabulous collection of pee sticks to use tho.
I need to get a positive so that when we move house next week I can make DH do all the heavy lifting...

GlitteryLipgloss1 · 04/02/2015 10:33

Been quietly lurking and working out dates.

I have ordered a thermometer and will start to temp as the OPK sticks, I just don't trust them a lot to be honest! I get mostly faints. Annywayy, I average a 27 day cycle and we DTD on CD8, CD15 & CD17.

AF is due 14th Feb. Hopefully I haven't missed OV date but without temping that would be hard to pin point anyway?

Period tracker says I would've Ov'd on the 1st Feb (CD 14) should've really crammed in another shag on CD 10/12. Hopefully my Italian hubby provided me with lots of healthy spermies!

HeirToTheIronThrone · 04/02/2015 10:35

Another Mallory Towers fan here - spent quite some time aged about 11 lobbying DM to send me to boarding school (one with a tidal swimming pool and ponies obviously) and was MOST put out when she didn't.

I'm CD28 and 7dpo I think... Manically symptom spotting, the latest is that I am suddenly spottier than I have ever been since about 16 - is this a sign???

Hairstylisttoboris · 04/02/2015 10:35

I'm feeling nauseous but I think it's psychosomatic.

tessiegirl · 04/02/2015 10:36

Morning everyone!

Really interesting to read how you all cope with the black dog. I too have been on and off antidepressants since I was 19/20 but I mainly suffer from crippling anxiety. This causes irrational jealousy which has affected my relationships in the past as you can imagine. At times I never thought I would be in a stable enough relationship to get married let alone start a family. Thankfully DH is an absolute star and is my rock. He has even come to counselling sessions with me to try an understand my issues better and how to help me more. Where would I be without that man? Things I do that make me happy is writing and reading and like you purple I also love counted cross stitch! I also like the sound of colouring...may need to invest in a book online!

Welcome to the new passengers!

tessiegirl · 04/02/2015 10:38

Oh and 7/8dpo here....nothing much to report in way of symptoms!

TrixieRay · 04/02/2015 10:43

I'm finding it hard to keep up!
Spinning, I often snoop on the AN threads - every month I convince myself I will be joining.
Purdey, that patchwork quilt is beautiful. I started knitting when I hit the 12 month ttc mark. I discovered that my local charity shop sells wool so stocked up on loads of different colours and am working on a blanket.
Love the sound of adult colouring books.

I am feeling the same as I have every cycle but what the hell, if no AF by Sunday I may well POAS.

ibeka · 04/02/2015 10:48

On a bad day at work, I daydream I am in fact teaching at Mallory Towers :)

Tessie, sorry to hear about your dog. Your DH sounds amazing.

juneybean · 04/02/2015 10:51

Does any one else fantasize about how you'll tell your family/friends?

dojo123 · 04/02/2015 10:51

Morning

Well I went to the docs this morning and he confirmed that I am experiencing an early mc. Even though I only had a light spotting yesterday, this morning I was bleeding and it is now like a heavy AF, along with painful, low abdominal cramping. Sad

He was really helpful and supportive and said that even though this time is upsetting at least we can be confident that I am ovulating and that DH's is doing his job and we can conceive.
He took my blood pressure and pulse, he also checked on my stomach to make sure it wasn't an ectopic.
I didn't ask for bloods at this time but we did discuss my cycle lengths. He said that I should keep monitoring these but if I was concerned that my cycles were becoming more irregular to go back and see him.
He did also say that by the sounds of it I am allergic to penicillin, he said this was unlikely to have caused the mc but should I need to go on antibiotics again, there are alternatives which are also safe during pregnancy.

So, even though I should really head to the March bus (next AF due 3rd March) I would like to stay on here and keep chatting with you guys. Smile

So here are my new stats...

Dojo 32 TCC#1 Cycle#2 BFP due 03/03/15

juneybean · 04/02/2015 10:53

Oh dojo I'm sorry :( but you sound really cavalier and am pleased you're raring to go again this month :) xx

MaMaPo · 04/02/2015 11:07

That GP visit sounded pretty helpful dojo - did you think so? Definitely stay on this bus with us!

Boris I have eleventy billion pee sticks - pregnancy, not OPK. I bought a heap months and months ago (came in a pack with OPKs and a thermometer). The CBAFM I use also bundles in 4 pregnancy sticks with every 20 OPK sticks, and when I bought it second hand it came with loads of pregnancy sticks. In all I could probably test for pregnancy around 40 times.

I have tested for pregnancy exactly three times in my life. One was a BFP. I guess my strike rate is pretty good then! Seriously, though, AF always arrives so early for me, earlier than a test could pick up, so I never test. I know people say it's better not to test early, but I find it frustrating.

Maybe this cycle (everything crossed).

BowiesJumper · 04/02/2015 11:13

Sorry to hear that dojo, but yes it's good to look at the positives in any situation.

I have a question about temping. So, I often have a bit of broken sleep or wake a while before my alarm and sometimes go back to sleep, sometimes not. Will this effect my chart alarmingly or make it inaccurate? I only started yesterday, and both temps so far have been similar, but both after a few wakings in the hour or two before I wake up properly/alarm goes off and I take the temp.

I wanted to rely on temping to see if/when I ovulate as I have pcos so I don't think opk's will work for me (although I'll try them around the likely ov time, twice a day, I have internet cheapie ones.)

GlitteryLipgloss1 · 04/02/2015 11:15

Hier - yes acne is a sign. when was you thinking of POAS?

Juney - yes sometimes, especially DH. He is Italian so was going to put a small pannetone in the oven. Family wise, think it will just do the rounds, but definitely going to call my mum/dad/sisters and BFF when I get a BFP.

MaMaPo · 04/02/2015 11:17

Bowie, broken sleep etc will affect your temps, but if I were you I'd just start and see what you end up with. If you use FF to track your temps it will note whether temps are being taken at roughly the same time, and you can add notes about your sleep too. I reckon that you're better off temping for a couple of cycles and seeing what you end up with than not doing it at all because the circumstances aren't perfect.

I temp, and I wake up at pretty erratic times (I don't set an alarm), and I still find the data useful.

tessiegirl · 04/02/2015 11:20

So sorry dojo Flowers You are very welcome to stay on the bus

Oh yes juney I have fantasised how we would tell our families...I have even watched videos on YouTube of people doing exactly that...brings a lump in my throat every single time! Just before Christmas when I thought I may possibly be pregnant I was even daring to think of ways we could announce it on Christmas Day...ah well Sad One day very soon though!! Smile

MaMaPo · 04/02/2015 11:20

oh, and if you're waking up within, say, an hour of your normal temping time, I'd take your temp then and record it instead of waiting. This is just a guess at the best way of doing it, but that should at least give you a more correct basal temp than one you take when you've been half or fully awake for a while.
