spinning they are the most amazing breed. They're like a little friend. I've met a fair few and they all have the same big personality in a little package. The other bonus is that he doesn't bark at babies crying on telly so fingers crossed he won't when we get one!

PurdeyBirdie · 03/02/2015 22:16

crazy, yes, I noticed the plethora of open circles! Never mind..we do our best with these damn temps, right? How come you don't use opks?

Cariad2014 · 03/02/2015 22:24

Sorry to all those having a tough time. Sending enormous un-mumsnetty hugs to Sparky and Dojo.

Impressed by your 3am dtd plans Spinning - I'm fairly sure that when Sunbathing got her BFP this was all based on early morning dtding. Here's hoping it works for you this cycle Grin

Liking the more relaxed cycle approach Victoria.

I'm also a big pug fan. Currently trying to persuade DH that if we don't have a BFP by June, we should get a pug.

Hair - loving the symptom spotting. At 4dpo yesterday, I managed to catch the wrong train home from work and ended up going miles in the wrong direction. Could this be a symptom?

PurdeyBirdie · 03/02/2015 22:24

Eskimo, welcome. You sound really well informed and it's great Norethisterone kicked your hormones' ass. Good luck with TTC Smile

juney, I'm so excited for your prospects with that top-notch spunk! Will you be using a catheter to inseminate intrauterine or simply a syringe for intracervical?

crazypuglady · 03/02/2015 22:26

purdey temping was a last minute thing. AF arrived when I was absolutely convinced I was upduffed so decided to run to the chemist and pick up a thermometer. Already thought about getting some cheap opks off amazon for next cycle.

Sparkly123 · 03/02/2015 22:27

Boosk yes! A V-day BFP p-a-r-t-y!!!!!

Juney yep husbands sperm. Our clinic gave us small catheters to use (13cm) and I find them helpful to add onto end of syringe. I Would also recommend preseed! I use OPKs and also temp and everything correlates well usually. My temps are always pretty similar pattern each month and I wake so many time during night have terrible sleep so it doesn't seem to throw mine off too much as my sleep is always the same. I just make sure to take it at the same time every day.

Purdey can you believe we have another AI pal?? Juney you are in for a treat being stuck with us two! Ha ha ... Purdey supplies the twirls, I have the pomegranates, take your pick...!

PurdeyBirdie · 03/02/2015 22:27

Juney, I do exactly the same as spinning re opks.

ninjabeer · 03/02/2015 22:28

Welcome to the bus juney good to have you aboard. We're using AI and there are a few of us aboard so plenty of people to compare notes with.

Sorry so many are struggling this month. Feb is always a bit of a tricky month. Roll on Spring! I totally advocate mindfulness for keeping the moody blues away. And cake of course!

This bus is about to turn the corner. Hold on tight!

PurdeyBirdie · 03/02/2015 22:30

sparkly, I still can't figure out how the catheter fits into the vagina picture!

Sparkly123 · 03/02/2015 22:30

Oh ninja !! Hi! How are you? Have you already posted on this bus and I missed it?! Are we still cycle buddies?!

Sparkly123 · 03/02/2015 22:31

Purdey me either I just chuck it in there! .... Confused

PurdeyBirdie · 03/02/2015 22:31

Grin at cariad's improbable pregnancy symptom!

juneybean · 03/02/2015 22:33

spinnin great thank you!

purdey thank you! yes will be doing intracervical as I chose "unwashed sperm" and putting that intrauterine could do terrible things apparently!

I will look for preseed and I also have a meluna cup which I intend to plug in to stop any swimmers escaping.

Will definitely go for twirls over pomegranates!

ninja thank you so much for the welcome!

I feel like a naughty schoolgirl though, I had intended to wait until later this year when I had lost some more weight but my period arrived late Sunday and I thought sod it I'll buy some sperm! Impulse buy!

crazypuglady · 03/02/2015 22:37

Cariad do it! Pugs are so loving. Mine is the third member of our family and goes everywhere with us. Love that smushy little face.

Sparkly123 · 03/02/2015 22:39

Damn it she's a twirl girl Purdey your on the first deck then juney! How exciting for you. I think my cath prob only goes slightly further than a syringe so prob much the same. Preseed hard to come by for me so I got if off amazon. Been using concieve plus this cycle but much prefer preseed consistency!
Let's get you a feb BFP then Juney!!!! Grin

eskimolaura · 03/02/2015 22:40

purdey thank you for the welcome. January felt like a LOOONG month (longer than usual), but I have been researching and reading and I hope to learn a lot more in the next few months.

crazy My DH would like a pug, and would like to call him 'Mr Gentleman.' Unfortunately for my DH, I had two rescue greyhounds before we got together. I don't think they would be to happy about the arrival of a pug!

What is everyone's view on pre-seed? We tried it for the first time on Sunday, and I have to say, it was very 'slimy'! My DH said that it couldn't hurt and that it was like 'opening a new lane on the motorway' (he has a car analogy for everything!) I think we'll go without tonight, and perhaps alternate. I'm not sure if it 'watered' everything down a bit too much and allowed things to 'drain out' a little too quickly (or maybe that was me getting up too quickly? Confused

ibeka · 03/02/2015 22:47

Here you go, purdy...

All aboard the Feb bus, as we finally take off
Purplecuddlykoala14 · 03/02/2015 22:51

Thank you purdie your help and advise and humour is much appreciated. I thought I'd ov'd cd15 due to the big temp drop - don't think there was anything odd about that day - so I was surprised when ff confirmed it at cd 13.
I just thought I'd see what my local nhs policy was in Ivf as others had been chatting about it - crazy that every pct seems to do something different.
I don't feel I have given this TTC lark a good go yet so not panicking just yet.
Your quilt is fabulous.
sparkly your cake looks lush.
I like the sound of adult colouring books.
I like arty craft things that are easy, so I do counted cross stitch.

Wishing123 · 03/02/2015 22:59

Only managed to read abit as there's loads of comments from this morning lol.
How do you do your temp chart? Just a thermometer in your mouth? And when?
And ifot referee to the gyn coz I told music about my past 3mcg or cp I dnt know what they wer n I told her I'd been trying over a year as I wanted the investigation to start sooner rather than later. N im glad did now my DF sperm is 1% morphology xx

PurdeyBirdie · 03/02/2015 23:00

Ibeka, I believe FF has pinpointed ov correctly. The first three temps post- ov are higher than the previous five.

Eskimo, we recently discussed 'sperm-friendly' lube on here and so I consulted FF. They said lube should not be used unless having sex without it would be impossible. Apparently it does nothing to nurture sperm as the blurb would have us believe.

PurdeyBirdie · 03/02/2015 23:06

cookie, GPs detest our charts! Almost as much as gynae consultants! I honestly believe they have some kind of inexplicable aversion to women taking charge of their fertility. BELLENDS! Some doctors make me so angry. What have you done since then re your progesterone deficiency? Please tell me it's sorted..

PurdeyBirdie · 03/02/2015 23:10

purple, what happened on cd15 is called a fallback rise and, as a stand-alone incident post ov isn't seen as a problem. However, if your temps keep touching the cover line - or beyond - it would raise the question of an absence of ovulation.

Sparkly123 · 03/02/2015 23:11

Purdey I have my first app at fertility clinic in two weeks.. Are you thinking taking charts ain't gonna go down well then???

MaMaPo · 04/02/2015 00:59

Hello you chatty lot.

Sorry to hear of all the MH woes of people here, but I'm so pleased to hear that everyone seems to be managing their black dogs so well. I'm a psychologist and have seen cbt and mindfulness work wonders.

Had my bloods done yesterday, at around 3-4-5 dpo. I'll probably go again on Saturday. I'm all booked in for my scan next week too.

Also in my attempt to take charge of my fertility I call my Health insurance provider (much more common to have Health insurance here in Aus than in the UK) and asked about fertility coverage. We took out the policy years ago without even thinking about it. Turns out that all outpatient procedures come out if my pocket (except for the government rebate) but anything inpatient is covered, including IVF. Hoping not to need it but it's comforting nevertheless.

Eskimo, welcome. We've started using preseed but only occasionally. I started applying it internally as directed but found it was way too much and way too deep! TMI! now we use just a little externally but only if needed. I was also supported by the ff recommendation not to use it at all.

MaMaPo · 04/02/2015 01:00

Supported = surprised
