Anyone taking part in the Response Medical Trial or any other medical trial?

Hi, I'm taking part in the Response medical trial and wondering if anyone else on here is too?
It's been a very difficult year and a half and I have had three consecutive miscarriages, 1st in Nov 2013 at 12 weeks, 2nd in July 2014 at 7 weeks, 3rd in Nov 2014 at 9 weeks. It's a 4 month waiting list for my Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic so I'm taking part in the trial as want to keep things moving as worried I'm running out of time (I'm 36 this year - although I was 33 when first started TTC) but I'm in the 2WW and feeling terrified.
There's a lot of extra support offered as part of the trial but I'm feeling a bit lonely and out on a limb about it.
Anyone else on the same boat or had medical trial experience?

Still no luck but only 8DPO so so still a bit early for me to get a BFP. But I'm getting VERY impatient!
Sounds like you're in full pregnancy swing. Sore boobs is a great sign, and I'm very relived for you for no spotting.
I'll keep my fingers firmly crossed for all of us!
How are you doing Claire? Feeling more ready to dive back into TTC?

This weekend is going to drag for all of us I think!!
Hoping for some preggo news by Monday!
Are you in the tww Claire or started a new cycle?

clairemorgan81 · 20/02/2015 19:11

Hi ladies. Glad to hear your both ok.
I have just got my period following the miscarriage this morning I'm relieved as its been a while and I was wondering when it was going to show up. I'm always excited to Start ttc but it's a strange feeling as I dread a positive pregnancy test (I'm sure you know what I mean)hoping my cycles get back to normal soon.
Sizethree I have my fingers crossed for you. When will you start testing?
Choccywoccydodah - great that so far so good for you xxx

sizethree · 20/02/2015 19:25

Hi Claire. Glad AF arrived, it's such a horrible wait for it after MC. So a relief that your body is recovering well.
Yes I know the mixed feelings of wanting but dreading that positive pregnancy test result. But I'm hoping this trial will take the edge off that anxiety with the extra care and scans.
I had to start testing 7DPO, which was yesterday. But I'll be in for a bit of a wait as don't usually show up a BFP until much nearer day of due period.
Are you feeling ok about starting again in a couple of weeks?
My timing was the same as yours. I waited to get normal AF after MC then started trying but remember freaking out a bit realising how soon it could happen. But by the time my AF due I was desperate for a positive. That was last month. Only on month 2 now, and will be incredibly disappointed if I'm not pregnant this month. Mostly because baby no.2 would have been due on March 15 (yep, Mother's Day - extra twist of pain in the heart with that one) and I'd always wanted to be pregnant again by the time that due dates roll round. But never have been.
My husband is away for the weekend so I'm secretly hoping to not get a positive until be comes back, as I'd no doubt be in pieces.

clairemorgan81 · 20/02/2015 20:42

Ahh mothers day will be hard if no positive but let's hope you are, life can be so cruel at times. I feel ready to try again been almost a year since we started trying again first baby we lost would have been due the end of Jan.
I feel a little more positive being on this trial its probably reassurance more than anything with extra scans etc..... I should hear back from my consultant next week about results of blood tests she has taken. I'm hoping all ok but who knows. Did yours come back normal? I feel like everyone is pregnant at the moment, im sure you notice it so much more than usual after a loss. It's particularly hard as my twin sister is 25 weeks pregnant she is a week behind what I would have been if I hadn't miscarried the second time. So hard as we are close but this has definitely changed things a little unfortunately. I hope I'm pregnant by the time her baby arrives

So when is your period due?xx

sizethree · 20/02/2015 21:02

I had the recurrent miscarriage tests after loss number two. I have a loveky GP and I stamped my feet a bit! All bloods were normal so when we conceived number 3 I felt a little more positive and conforted (temporarily though!) as well as terrified.
Also the pathology of the third loss came back clear so lost a healthy baby. That was hard to take, as there's still no answers or reason for my repeated losses.
But when I saw the fertility specialist last month he said that I still have exactly the same chance of having a healthy pregnancy than any woman of my age bracket. Not sure how he worked that out as statistics tell a different story. But he's the pro!
Dreaded AF due on Thursday, so long slog til then!
It must be very difficult for you with your twin sister being pregnant. I find know how I'd even begin to handle that.
I've had a lot of friendships damaged over the couple of years that I've been struggling with losses. Even friends who had suffered MCs previously turn into smuggos the seconds that they have their baby and lose all perspective of just how horrific it is to be in our position.
And Yeh, I am a pregnancy magnet. Any pregnant woman in a 5 mile radius gravitated towards me. And newborns, pushchairs, tv ads, emails, cookies in my computer. I'm constantly haunted by it all.
It really is such a horrible miserable place to be.
Very much hoping for a happy year for the 3 of us here. We've suffered enough.

OP posts:
clairemorgan81 · 21/02/2015 00:18

Yes definitely hope so for us.
It's good that bloods came back normal. I know it doesn't give you any answers but I guess that's better than having a health problem. My consultant said same about risk of future loss same as anyone else?
Let's hope this year it out year like you sat we 've been through enough.
Keep me updated with test results. Good luck xxx

Choccywoccydodah · 21/02/2015 08:56

Omg Claire that must be devastating. Not only for you but for your twin too. How is she feeling that you've lost a baby? She must feel awful, I jnow I would. Like size three said, I just don't know how I'd feel in your position looking at your sister when 'it should've been me too'.
You will get there, I'm sure of it. Now you have lots and lots of support too, hopefully it'll be that little bit quicker.

Any news sizethree? So praying for that big fat line for you sweets x

sizethree · 21/02/2015 09:16

Still a BFN. But I found it hard to sleep last night as all I want to do is speed up a few days to get my result. Infact I'd love to speed up to a time that I just wake up to having a lovely bewborn and bypass all this awful oregnancy malarkey.
How are you both doing this morn?
My husband is away all weekend so I have the mother of all to-do lists to get through do I can feel calm and smug tomorrow eve.

Choccywoccydodah · 21/02/2015 09:47

Ugh! Bloody tests are clearly wrong Wink
How are you feeling? Do you feel preggo?
Hear you with the pregnancy. Had textbook perfect with ds, no sickness etc, not even much a bump til 7 months, but still didn't really enjoy IT, too impatient!!

sizethree · 21/02/2015 09:56

My PMT is exactly the same as early pregnancy symptoms so I can never allow myself to read too much into it.
But I have sore full feeling boobs and my tummy has been a bit upset this week (I have endometriosis so that flares up at certain times of my cycle resulting in abdominal pain) and I've had cramps, but again that could be due to endo. I've not noticed any spotting to indicate implantation. But I am in a very grumpy mood. And tenner the times I've conceived before I was super ragey for no apparent reason.
Urgh, so long til tomorrow morning's test!
How are you Choccy? Pregnancy symptoms still kicking in with avengance?
The tirdness is the one that hits me the worst. I've never felt terribly sick, just averse to goods i used to love.

OP posts:
sizethree · 21/02/2015 09:57

Tenner was meant to be remember. Blooming phone.

Hi ladies hope you are both okay? Hope you get a positive soon sizethree it's so frustrating waiting and not knowing its like torture for you.
It is very hard choccywoccydodah we talk about my miscarriage but I don't think you can really appreciate just how devastating it is unless you have experienced a loss of you know what I mean. She spotted a little when I did and we both ended up having early scans the same day and time would you believe but her pregnancy was okay thank good ess xx

Choccywoccydodah · 21/02/2015 10:52

Well here's hoping its some thing going on sizethree!!

Just tired here. Been falling asleep around 9pm most nights. Went out weds night and came home early as couldn't be bothered to socialise.
Nipples hurt and boobs feel a bit bigger, also can feel it all going on inside, but bothibg too bad.
Still no spotting which i am very relieved about! Just hope it stays away. Having (sorry if tmi) LOTS of poos! About 5-6 a day!! Not diarrhoea, just softer than normal, I put a thread on here and ladies said it was normal in early preg :) I'm normally once a day, so that's the biggest thing I've noticed tbh

sizethree · 21/02/2015 11:26

Choccy I remember the frequent poops! As there's so much happening abdominally your digestion speeds up a bit too as they are neighbours. No such thing as tmi on these threads!
Claire is is such a painful situation for you. Life is so cruel at times. There's just nothing to say to make it any easier. I'm so sorry. But you are a wonderful person for coping so well in such a sad situation.
Lean on us if needed please.

How far on are you choccywoccydodah? Is you scan next week?
Thank you sizethree same applies to you both I'm always here if you need.
Question for you both about ovulation testing on this trial. My cycles arent a set 28 days a month they vary from 24-30 days so the midwife on trial said to start testing on day 7 after period as that's going by 24 day cycle. The thing is the ovulation tests aren't going to last Me long as I may not ovulate until day say 16 I got 20 tests so they may only last 2 months I didnt think to mention I may need more xx

sizethree · 21/02/2015 12:03

I'd take the midwife's advice and start testing on day 7, just so you're definitely covered. Even though that will mean dipping into next months stash. Is your hospital easy enough to get to? I'm sure they'll dudh out another box to keep you stocked up if you don't fall pregnant the first cycle.
It's in their best interests to give you dverything that is needed for this trial to work. Give them a call if it's worrying you though.

OP posts:
clairemorgan81 · 21/02/2015 12:59

I 'll just see how many I use this month and give them a call if needs be. It's not far from me so I 'll call in if I need to.xx

Choccywoccydodah · 21/02/2015 17:10

Hi both!
Claire, my RMW said just call if I needed any more tests etc. I got 3 boxes of 10 ov tests and 30 preg tests.
I tested once per morning (with the exception of one afternoon when I still think to this day I DID ov!) I dipped into the next box by one.
Don't be afraid to use them all if you need them, and just ask for more.

So, poos.......I've got hard poo now! Coming out like skinny worms, ffs lol!
Am 5 weeks tues Claire (but I think 5 tomorrow), so have an appt Tues, then following weds at just over 6 weeks is my scan :) keep it all crossed for me!!
Are you feeling positive this month?

Sizethree, just fyi, I've ordered you a BFP for tomorrow morning. Will be delivered first thing if that's ok? Wink

sizethree · 21/02/2015 17:19

Hard poos. Ouch! Stay hydrated and snack on fruit. That'll tame them to be soft Wink
Great, thanks, very much looking forward to my BFP delivery tomorrow morning!
I'm having a very productive day and off round to a friends tonight to keep me occupied.

OP posts:
clairemorgan81 · 21/02/2015 17:47

I suffered awful constipation in my last pregnancy so be sure to stay hydrated choccywoccydodah. Ahh it will be so lovely to get your scan. I have everthing crossed for you. How you finding the daily injections.
Hope you get your positive asap sizethree.
Choccywoccydodah how many months have you been trying?x

Choccywoccydodah · 21/02/2015 18:20

Daily injections are a doddle tbh Claire. The needle is so skinny you hardly feel it :)
Been trying 18 months in total, but caught month 3 and every month we've tried thereafter (had the odd month or 2 off in between every third loss) Just petrified every time I go to the loo (which is about once per hour, but yesterday I went 3 times in 30 mins!)
Trying to drink loads, snacking on fruit and dried fruit and nuts. I'm not overly hungry, but not sick which is good, but guess am a bit early for that yet anyway.

Choccywoccydodah · 21/02/2015 18:21

Enjoy your night sizethree!!

clairemorgan81 · 21/02/2015 19:18

So many losses have you had choccywoccydodah if you dont mind me asking?x

Choccywoccydodah · 22/02/2015 08:30

Morning, hope you had a great night sizethree :) Any questions asked re not drinking?

I've had 8 altogether Claire. My first should be 7 months old now Sad
It's probably a blessing in a way as Ds is an August born and goes to school this year, so if this one sticks, I'll be able to spend more time with baby without taking it away from ds and him being left out :)
