Anyone taking part in the Response Medical Trial or any other medical trial?

Hi, I'm taking part in the Response medical trial and wondering if anyone else on here is too?
It's been a very difficult year and a half and I have had three consecutive miscarriages, 1st in Nov 2013 at 12 weeks, 2nd in July 2014 at 7 weeks, 3rd in Nov 2014 at 9 weeks. It's a 4 month waiting list for my Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic so I'm taking part in the trial as want to keep things moving as worried I'm running out of time (I'm 36 this year - although I was 33 when first started TTC) but I'm in the 2WW and feeling terrified.
There's a lot of extra support offered as part of the trial but I'm feeling a bit lonely and out on a limb about it.
Anyone else on the same boat or had medical trial experience?

So, ahem, er, Blush feeling a bit of a twat to be honest, buti got a Smile this morning! And second line darker that the normal one.
WTAF is going on withy body this month???
I got the same as all the other months! I've NEVER got a positive past the one cd15 occasion, they all go light (actually after mc number 2 I had positives for a week!) but I had the usual pain 2 days later and everything!!
I must say I feel a massive wally!! But why this month so late??
The giveaway was I got a mahoosive zit on my cheek last night (only time I get a spot is around ov and didn't get one this month), and I thought hmmm........
So, ahem, they may be ok afterall!

Dear Clear Blue..........sorry.Confused

sizethree · 04/02/2015 12:42

Hee hee, glad you got the smiley face eventually. I was definitely late to ovulate this month too. Day 16 for me and I'm usually around 11. Think my poor egg got stage fright!
You'll be in for a loooong 22w now as well.
Feel free to rant my way with frustrations. I'm only on day 5 so feels like AGES away til anything can happen!

Hi sizethree!
Hope all ok and time isn't going too slow for you!
What you up to this weekend?
We've got a 40th party tonight which should be good.

Well, going off my original date of when I thought I'd ov, I was feeling a bit odd last night. So this morning I decided to test anyway (bit of an addict lol).
Do you know what the sensitivity is if these tests? I don't like them as the plastic is quite reflective so I took it apart. Anyway, I have what looks like a slight line, but I checked it about half an hour after I did it and took it apart.
I know it was foolish to test so early, but I'm scared I did actually ov earlier so I didn't want to miss the positive just in case I need to go in.
I do feel very odd at the moment, very hard to describe, but it feels all mild stitch like and crampy and pulling sensation inside if that makes sense. It may just be eggy making its way around and everything going on, but it's just, well, odd!
Will try again Monday now. I've got to test from Tuesday obwards :)

Choccywoccydodah · 07/02/2015 13:36

Just noticedy piccy didn't attach!
It's the bottom test, top one was last night Blush

sizethree · 07/02/2015 16:52

Wowzer! Erm, I think I see a faint line on the bottom one. Maybe you ovulated twice this month. Once before you even started ovulation testing? Feeling of weirdness and stitch like pain could be it settling in. How long after dipping did you take the pic?
Oh yeh, I hate those other tests with the shitey window. Impossible to see it clearly. I broke mine open too! I don't knkw the sensitivity of them, but I ended up buying a FRER when I was late, as nothing brings in a period quite like forking out for expensive pregnancy tests!
Enjoy the 40th tonight and how noone raises eyebrows when you avoid wine. It's so tiring being at these things and people speculating.
I'm having a quiet one. Got a bit of work to do, so staying in. I'm a graphic designer, and do a bit of extra freelance work on the side so sometimes weekends get eaten into with client demands.
Keep me posted, I'm on full on pregnancy alert for you.

Ha ha, 'shitey window' was supposed to be 'shiny window'. Great autocorrect!

Choccywoccydodah · 07/02/2015 18:20

Lol shitey :) they are that!

I'm driving anyway tonight so no eyebrows raised thank god. It's in a village and someone has to drive anyway, usually me as I don't drink really anyway, so no one tends to question me when I'm not drinking which is quite handy!
Will keep you posted :)

Graphic design sounds fun :) Although I bet it can be stressful at times when people try and tell you your job!

Have a good one x

Choccywoccydodah · 07/02/2015 18:22

Oooo 30 mins after btw x

Choccywoccydodah · 08/02/2015 12:27

Today's offering, 10 mins after test x

Not sure if you can see something?

sizethree · 08/02/2015 19:51

Hope you had fun at the 40th.
I can see something on the bottom one but the photo isn't as clear as yesterday. You're still super early to test though aren't you? I'd give the trial contact a call tomorrow to explain, as they want to see you as early as possible.
It's such a long wait though isn't it til the next morning to test!
How are you feeling? Are you feeling pregnant?

OP posts:
sizethree · 09/02/2015 08:55

How'd you get on with your test this morning?

OP posts:
Choccywoccydodah · 09/02/2015 10:33

I forgot to frikkin test!! I got up for a wee and as soon as I did I thought SHIIIIIIIT!!! I almost dipped it in the loo!!
I will test tomorrow. I wouldn't be surprised if they're evaps tbh. I don't trust cheapies. I'll see what the test does tomorrow and give them a ring.
40th was great. Got home at 2ish and slept in til 11.45, lush! Can't remember the last time I slept in that late, it was lovely :) I'm still normally up at 8 regardless of what time we go to bed as that's when Ds gets up so it's set my clock.
I don't know how I 'feel' as such, every little niggle I think it's something but could be nothing! I'll just have to be patient I suppose!

What cd are you now?

sizethree · 09/02/2015 11:58

I've done that before, SOO annoying! Wasted wee.
I'm rubbish at lie ins. My brain pings on early and I start thinking of all the things I need to do and I'm terrible if I'm awake and my husband isn't as I tend to annoy him to get up too. I'm such a charm sometimes!
I'm only on CD10. Already feels like a loooong wait til anything happens. These days drag so much. I'm really wanting a BFP this month or I'll feel really disheartened. My second pregnany due date is March the 15th (also Mother's Day, punch in the face it what!) and I'd love to be pregnabt by then as it will be even sadder to feel no closer to having a baby.

Choccywoccydodah · 09/02/2015 13:05

Did this about an hour ago (bottom) photo after 20 mins. I'm going to freak if these are bloody evaps!!

sizethree · 09/02/2015 13:37

I've never had any sign of pink lines with non positive tests, even if I check after a full day at work. Definitely give them a call tomorrow morning. Does a blood test show positive earlier than a dip test? As they could test yours.

Choccywoccydodah · 10/02/2015 10:59

Morning, I've rang them, just waiting for a call back. I had the same this morning so I don't know wth is going on :(

Choccywoccydodah · 10/02/2015 15:38

I'm going in, wish me luck!! Grin

sizethree · 10/02/2015 15:57

oooooh. Good luck. Keep me updated!

Choccywoccydodah · 10/02/2015 16:46

Soooooo pissed off!! I didn't get a + 'on site' even though I showed them my tests and agreed they were +. They are FMU ffs!!! I'd just had a wee 20 mins before I had to wee again so it's diluted, plus the tests they use are 25 miu!!!! Not happy in the slightest! I thought the whole point of this was to catch it early, so WHY are they using 25s??????

sizethree · 10/02/2015 17:00

Arrrrgh. I'd be livid too! The WHOLE POINT of the trial is to detect pregnancy at the earliest possible time. So if they agree that you've brought in a positive test, then why are they not giving you the injections to take away?
If i were you I'd demand a re-test tomorrow morning. Have you got anything to safely transport your FMU to them to test? It's ridiculous testing at this time of the day.
So sorry this isn't going as well as you'd hoped. ) :

I know tell me about it. Cue explaining tests to DH on the way home too.....
I even asked if I could take home the tests they were using as there is no point me using the ones they've given me if they give a different result!
Fuming does not come close esp as 2 ladies agreed they could see lines on mine!! They think the ones I have are not as sensitive but I don't agree, I think they're 10 miu even though it doesn't say on the package.
They even said 25 miu wade most sensitive!! Wtf? I told them my FRER is less than 10, but I've not used it as have only got one left.
Not being funny (or tight!) but we should be getting Frers or CB tests really.
I'm taking in fmu next time like you say!

sizethree · 10/02/2015 22:31

Yeh, when I saw the clearblue ovulation tests, I assumed the pregnancy tests would be the same quality. It does seem a bit counter productive to have non sensitive pregnancy tests when the whole point of the trial is to get women on the drug/placebo at the earliest sign of a pregnancy.
I get the uuber sensitive tests online, they are good value, so don't understand why they don't provide them instead of the 25. FRER's are the best but waaaaay too pricey to be peeing on every day.
Arm yourself with a pot of FMU and an unopened sensitive test and go show em who's boss!
Let me know how you get on.

OP posts:
Choccywoccydodah · 11/02/2015 09:28

Problem is the cheap sticks have never worked for me. I had a pit of fmu when I last caught in October, I got + on a frer, 1-2 weeks on a digi and negative white on a cheap stick!
I'm really surprised I'm getting anything with see ones tbh. I just find it really silly that they'll have boxes of ov tests at £15 a pop to make sure you pinpoint ov, then give you shite tests!!!
I've even thought what if I never get a + on their tests??? I could go in with my fmu, and + FRER and they STILL wouldn't take it unless I got a + there.
This is exactly why I signed up! I'm losing mine so early, I thought this was going to help. It's like DH said, I may even get the placebo yet.........Sad

sizethree · 12/02/2015 08:26

Morning. Sorry for my silence yesterday, crazy busy day.
When I saw the clear blue ov tests in the pack, I presumed that the pregnancy tests would be clear clue too. So silly they are using budget ones.
Have you tested this morn?
Did the trial nurses say that you have to get an actual BFP with their tests in front of them?
Don't lose hope that as even if you do get the placebo, evidence suggests that having the extra support, attention, scan etc has shown a better outcome than without. So there's still a huge amount of hope yet. Well that's what I cling on to!
I'm on CD 13. Big circle today even though I'm having ovulation symptoms. Still not convinced they are accurate, as they showed I oved at day 16 last month which is unheard of.
How are you feeling?
