Anyone taking part in the Response Medical Trial or any other medical trial?

Hi, I'm taking part in the Response medical trial and wondering if anyone else on here is too?
It's been a very difficult year and a half and I have had three consecutive miscarriages, 1st in Nov 2013 at 12 weeks, 2nd in July 2014 at 7 weeks, 3rd in Nov 2014 at 9 weeks. It's a 4 month waiting list for my Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic so I'm taking part in the trial as want to keep things moving as worried I'm running out of time (I'm 36 this year - although I was 33 when first started TTC) but I'm in the 2WW and feeling terrified.
There's a lot of extra support offered as part of the trial but I'm feeling a bit lonely and out on a limb about it.
Anyone else on the same boat or had medical trial experience?

Morning. Yes you have to get a + there before they give you the drug/placebo.
I've got a slightly darker test this morning but started spotting too :(
Got a bloody headache and runny nose so I'm not in the best of moods today either. I just feel really let down tbh.

Ooo not long for you then! I'd start trying now if you think you ov earlier. I've read that sometimes you get a + ov on those the actual day you ov and by then can be too late!

Have a great day, will let you know if anything progresses x

Uiur spotting could be implantation bleeding? Didn't you get your smiley face just a week ago?
Ffs, it is SO STRESSFUL!
Totally kicks any enjoyment out of being pregnant. So rubbish.
I wish I could just wake up in labour sometimes and avoid the whole 9 months of shitting myself.
What's the plan with you? Are you going back in today to re test?
We DTD throughout the month to make sure all bases are covered. As i agree that the ov tests can pick it up too late and the windiw is only about 12 hours. But when we get the smiley face we always have an extra deed doing for luck.
Seriously, I wouldn't wish this journey on my worst enemy.
We surely deserve some sort of knighthood for the shit we've been through.

I know, it's just crap, I just feel like giving up sometimes to be totally honest. But the thought of what I could have keeps me going.
I thought implantation, but just confused about why I've been getting + already.
Why can't we just tech into our bloody bodies and shove the sperm in the egg ourselves!!
Then I've got a friend who has had a fucking accident!!
I don't know what to do. I've kept my fmu, just don't want a wasted journey again. It's only 30 mins down the road I know, but they're tests are shit!

Right I've just spoken to them and I'm going in again first thing armed with my fmu. I'm going to test on my last FRER too and see what happens.
Said about my spotting (which I've only had pale brown since) and she said maybe implantation too.
Watch this space I guess!

sizethree · 12/02/2015 11:52

Are you going in today? Or first thing tomorrow? Got confused with FMU and when you're actually going into the clinic!
There is defo a line. I want them RL just give you the frikkin drugs!
Keep me posted.

I know tell me about it ffs!!

Choccywoccydodah · 12/02/2015 13:06

I've put it on here too to see what people think.
If you invert it you can see it :)

sizethree · 12/02/2015 13:22

Jeezo. What a palava!
Do you know what number of candidate you are on the trial?
I'm number 3 up here for the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
By the sounds of things you may be number 1, as it seems like they are still scrambling for some sort of procedure to follow.
Did they not realise that your situation is the whole reason for running this trial? All this dicking around can't be following protocol can it?
What do you do btw if you don't mind me asking? Are you having to be at work when all this is going on?

Choccywoccydodah · 12/02/2015 14:49

No, dh and I are multi let property landlords so we don't really 'work' as such. We're at home most days renovating our house. We only go in if we have a prob with one of the houses (ie boiler going, leak etc) so thankfully it's not too bad for me.
I know what you mean about the pratting around, I think I'm number 10, so they should have it sorted by now!

sizethree · 12/02/2015 21:48

Very cool way to make a living.
Hope the renovating isn't too stressful.
I love doing DIY in our place. But I am guilty of starting lots of projects, and not so good at finishing them.
I'll have my fingers crossed for you tomorrow morning.
Keep me updated!

Will keep you posted.
Feel rotten tonight. Ds at my parents for the night so me and DH could go out but I've come home and left him out with a friend we bumped into. I don't know what I've eaten but I've been running to the loo for the last couple of hours (sorry tmi), thought best to come home :(
Was looking forward to our night out too!

Choccywoccydodah · 13/02/2015 08:03

Well if they don't accept these ill be tempted to pull out!!

Congratulations!
What a relief. Eventually.
That's nearly a week of praying around right.
So they have you the injection things? How are they?

OP posts:
Choccywoccydodah · 13/02/2015 11:49

Still here and waiting for them to arrive. Done all the paperwork but pharmacy hasn't sent up the drugs yet so just waiting x

sizethree · 13/02/2015 13:50

So you're in full swing of the trial.
Have you done an injection yet?
How are you feeling?

OP posts:
Choccywoccydodah · 13/02/2015 15:46

Yep all done! Had injection at 1.15 finally, then had to wait an hour for reactions etc, but all ok so left at 2.30, I got there at 8.45!!
Anyway, I'm home, armed with my jabs. They take your date as from ov rather than cd1, so I am officially 3+3! I've got to go in next week for my next appointment. Is booked for Tuesday morning, so hopefully all goes well in the meantime....

Not long til your ov now :) Praying for you sweets xx

Choccywoccydodah · 13/02/2015 15:46

Oh re injection, you don't feel it. The needle is so skinny you don't feel anything x

sizethree · 13/02/2015 17:42

I'm SO excited for you!
It sounds like it's running smoothly now you got over the hurdle of convincing them you're pregnant.
When is your danger week?
I'm already so nervous about passing the weeks I have previously miscarried.
Got my smiley face this morning so it will be a busy Valentine weekend!
Oh and do you know if you can take the injections in a plane?
I'm trying not to keep putting my life on hold and planning a holiday. I think I'll need to ask my trial manager about what to do at the airport and if I need a certificate or sonerhjng. Oh and what to do anout refrigerating the others.

OP posts:
Choccywoccydodah · 13/02/2015 21:11

Thank you :)
They've told me not to go on holiday while I'm doing the weekly appts if possible, which is up to 6 weeks.
I'm not sure actually about the jabs, as they cannot be out of the fridge for more than 2 hours, so that's thrown me now you've said that as we'd like to go away.
Danger week will be 2 weeks today onwards, long time yet.
I AM excited, but I am totally anxious too. I'm just trying not to think about it too much, I just hope I get to my 6 week scan!

Oooooo busy weekend for you then. That would be lovely wouldn't it?
Have fun!! ;)

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 13/02/2015 22:02

Hello choccy, bit of a lurker on this thread. I'm not part of the trial but I think my second mc has just started so I will watch anything that gives me hope.

Regarding the fridge dilemma, my mum needs to keep her injections refrigerated and she contacted the airline before she flew and had doctors certificates so she just kept it in a cooler bag and they put it in the fridge on the plane.
