Anyone taking part in the Response Medical Trial or any other medical trial?

Hi, I'm taking part in the Response medical trial and wondering if anyone else on here is too?
It's been a very difficult year and a half and I have had three consecutive miscarriages, 1st in Nov 2013 at 12 weeks, 2nd in July 2014 at 7 weeks, 3rd in Nov 2014 at 9 weeks. It's a 4 month waiting list for my Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic so I'm taking part in the trial as want to keep things moving as worried I'm running out of time (I'm 36 this year - although I was 33 when first started TTC) but I'm in the 2WW and feeling terrified.
There's a lot of extra support offered as part of the trial but I'm feeling a bit lonely and out on a limb about it.
Anyone else on the same boat or had medical trial experience?

sizethree · 22/02/2015 08:48

It was just one friend I wengbto visit and as she lives out of town, she had offered to drive me home after the visit. So neither of us drank.

:( boooooooo sizethree! Sorry, it may be delivered tomorrow, bloody crap service!

Yes been a shit time Claire, after the last one back in October I told DH I didn't want to try anymore, I just broke down. We enjoyed a holiday after that, then xmas and new year and decided to try from then. However I didn't catch jan (odd), so in effect my body has had 3 months rest so am hoping that's helped with this one :)

clairemorgan81 · 22/02/2015 09:36

Choccywoccydodah What keeps you going? Do you feel deep down you will have a healthy baby? I think that's what keeps me going and until I'm told otherwise I have to have hope. Very difficult though. My heart goes out to you as any loss is awful but numerous times certainly takes its toll. My fear is my husband not wanting to continue trying he can't bear seeing me go through it so has already said maybe we should be happy with our son. Which of course I am but I do not want to give up, I'm desperate to give Felix a brother or sister.
So falling pregnant is definitely no problem then.... I have a good feeling for you this time

clairemorgan81 · 22/02/2015 09:37

Sorry you didn't get a positive this morning, tomorrow will soon be here sizethree x

Choccywoccydodah · 22/02/2015 10:32

I guess the thought that I am getting pregnant and one day it wil 'be it' keeps me going. We have got a cut off of May though. my dh will be 41and he doesn't want to be too old. Dh told me in October when I said I didn't want to try anymore that he thought that was best. I'd not really thought of it having much effect on me, which is doesn't physically, but he said he couldn't go on watching me get upset every single month. He also thought it was taking too much of 'me' away. I'm normally outgoing and very loud when we go out with friends, but I've just sunk into a hole.
Also he was concerned about me concentrating so much on myself that ds was suffering with attention (totally hear him there Blush)

We've got Ds and I am so happy we've got him, but like you I desperately want another, not just for us, but for ds too. I have 2 older bros and dh has an older bro but none have kids so ds is TOTALLY on his own in that respect.
He had friends (one will be over in a bit to play) and I know there's no guarantee he'll get on with a sibling (I don't get on with mine), but I've just always had in my head I want 2 kids.

Choccywoccydodah · 22/02/2015 10:33

much effect on him* not me!

clairemorgan81 · 22/02/2015 11:21

Let's hope this time is the time for you then. It's so hard understanding why it's happening I'm still awaiting my blood test results so something may come up with them. I can totally see how after 8 you have a cut off point, I guess you have to. Like.you I'm so lucky to have my ds but it's for him that I want another. When we're old I dont want him to be an only child. My husband is happy with just one and the more this goes on the more he says he thinks we should just be happy with him. It upsets me terribly as I do not want to give up. Don't get me wrong he wants another but like you if effects so much more.

sizethree · 23/02/2015 08:02

Morning you two. So I'm sitting here shaking a bit and rather teary as I think I just got my BFP...

OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry but that is DEFINITLY A BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations sweetie, amazing news to wake up to!! Thrilled to bits for you!!! Sorry the delivery was a bit late Wink
Eeeeeeek! So have you told dh? Is he back?

So excited for you!! Grin

No spotting this end, furthest I've been with no spotting Grin

Choccywoccydodah · 23/02/2015 08:26

Have you kept your fmu? Did you get a bfp in their tests?

sizethree · 23/02/2015 08:37

Yes he's back and was with me but had to leave for work.
I texted the trial manger and she said she'd call me when she's in the office and that it should show on their tests tomorrow. So likely I'll go in tomorrow not today. But I don't want to wait!
I've kept my FMI in a pot just in case. I'm heading into work now, but not sure how much I'll be able to concentrate.
I'll let you know what the trial manager says.
A the waiting Huh!
So glad you're spotting free. That's a great sign.
You've got another appointment tomorrow then your scan a week on Wednesday right?
Time must be dragging so much.

OP posts:
sizethree · 23/02/2015 08:44

Yes I thjnk k can see the faintest of faint lines on their test, but I had to break into it again. That shiny window is useless!

OP posts:
Choccywoccydodah · 23/02/2015 08:50

Well if you can get through today, your bfp will be bigger and better tomorrow! Oooooo this is so exciting! Good luck getting through today! So glad your dh is home though.

Yes my appt is in the morning then next weds. Time is dragging but it's going quicker that i thought :)

So excited for you, keep us posted z

clairemorgan81 · 23/02/2015 09:19

Ahh brilliant news sizethree it's definitely a positive. So so pleased for you. Keep us updated xxx

clairemorgan81 · 23/02/2015 09:28

How many months have you been trying size three?
So pleased your husband was there this morning, you 'll never concentrate at work today!!
Great you 've had no spotting choccywoccydodah wonder what they do at tomorrows app?xx

Choccywoccydodah · 23/02/2015 10:34

Just bloods every week Claire to check your white blood cells etc, and they give you more injections to take home (there's 8 in a pack). Then the same but fortnightly including scan from next week :)

clairemorgan81 · 23/02/2015 11:19

So Do you get a scan every couple of weeks? I hope it doesn't take too long for me to conceive. Hope you dont mind me asking but do you time intercourse around ovulation and if so once you get a positive do you dtd every day?xx

Choccywoccydodah · 23/02/2015 11:31

We just Dtd every other day Claire, that's what the MW recommended. If you Dtd too often, the sperm can be not too good. Dh had the flu around my ov so he wasn't really in the mood anyway, but he did it clearly Wink
You get scanned every 2 weeks from 6 weeks so 6,8,10,12 weeks.
Hopefully it won't be too long for you :)
Have you had your trial appt already?

clairemorgan81 · 23/02/2015 11:42

Yes I had my trial appointment and the reoccurrent miscarriage clinic appointment at same time.
I always thought every other day but recently read New evidence shows unless you have a low sperm count then it's fine, although hard work!!
You must be thrilled to have no spotting so far. So have you always had early miscarriages?
totally off topic do you use the full internet page to reply to these posts? I'm using an android phone and its quite difficult. There is an app but can't seem to bring up these messages on there x

Choccywoccydodah · 23/02/2015 11:58

I'm on the mobile site, I don't like the mn app :)

Tbh, the last months we've caught we've just Dtd around ov, once a day or every other day, didn't matter, but this time we did every other day :)

All my mc have been before 5 weeks bar 2. I need to get to Friday which would be my furthest, but I'm normally spotting by now.
Ds was conceived month 3, no previous mc.
Starting to feel a bit sicky now, gone off sweet stuff (same happened with ds) and I LOVE my sweets and choc! Just have no appetite, also what happened week 5 with ds (been reading my preg diary).
Crap nights sleep last night. Ds had a friend round to play yesterday and was knackered last night. He's been out of night nappies for 2 weeks tomorrow and I just knew last night we'd have a wake up call saying he'd wet the bed as he was so tired!
Sure enough 1.45 he shouted. I could not get back to sleep, my legs were just all fidgety too which was driving me crazy! When I looked at my watch it was 5am!! So I'm a bit knackered today, and my boobs hurt!

Choccywoccydodah · 23/02/2015 11:59

And I hate coffee, which I love, same happened last time too :)

clairemorgan81 · 23/02/2015 12:36

Ahh it's all good that your getting symptoms.bet you 'll be so relieved to get to scan next week. Let's hope the extra scans and checks help you.
Im trying to potty train ds at the moment. Hes doing well but no where near going out or to bed without nappy x

sizethree · 23/02/2015 13:29

So I'm going in tomorrow at 11am. I'll take a pot of FMU too.
Finding it very hard to concentrate today.
Claire this was only cycle 2 of trying. I had a MC in late November and waited for normal period to return before trying again. this is pretty fast for me, as it took 4 months for 1st, 7 for second, then a frightening 1 month for 3rd.
This is also the earliest I've ever tested positive do very much hope that is a good sign.
We DTD a few times pre ovulation just to make sure, also over the 2 most fertile and extra afters for luck! We've done the same every month of trying, it's just so random if it happens or not.
So I'm terrified.
How are you keeping your cool Choccy?

OP posts:
clairemorgan81 · 23/02/2015 14:44

Glad your going in morning sizethree are you going to test again tonight? That's what I would do as bet it doesn't feel real? Ahh I'm so pleased for you. How you feeling?
Took us 10 conceive ds but hasn't taken long with the 3 miscarriages ive had but for some reason I keep worrying its going to take ages.

Your bound to be worried, but it's excellent news and everything crossed this is your time xx
