Anyone taking part in the Response Medical Trial or any other medical trial?

Hi, I'm taking part in the Response medical trial and wondering if anyone else on here is too?
It's been a very difficult year and a half and I have had three consecutive miscarriages, 1st in Nov 2013 at 12 weeks, 2nd in July 2014 at 7 weeks, 3rd in Nov 2014 at 9 weeks. It's a 4 month waiting list for my Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic so I'm taking part in the trial as want to keep things moving as worried I'm running out of time (I'm 36 this year - although I was 33 when first started TTC) but I'm in the 2WW and feeling terrified.
There's a lot of extra support offered as part of the trial but I'm feeling a bit lonely and out on a limb about it.
Anyone else on the same boat or had medical trial experience?

Hi everyone I've just spent nearly 1 hours 30 minutes trying to read all the comments on here wow what a roller coaster of emotions you've all been through!

My names Gen I've just suffered my 3rd miscarriage last week at 8 weeks 2 out of 3 of mine I've seen scans with heartbeats only to go back a week or 2 later to have the bad news broken to me....

I called about the trial last Friday and have been invited for a blood test and a chat tommorow I'm worried they may turn me away for unhealthy Bmi? I'm going to be heartbroken if this the case just wondered if anyone else maybe a little bit "bigger" ? Sorry didn't know how else to word it?

Thanks ladies and good luck to you all xx

Indiedog · 04/05/2015 18:12

Hi Joy, congrats on BFP, and all the best with randomisation. It can take a while, so be prepared. I was there for four hours!

Hello Gen. Welcome to the thread. Your chat with them should clear up a lot of questions, but when I spoke initially on the phone I 'think' she said it would be a BMI of about 35 that would exclude. Don't quote me on it though.
Do you know your BMI?
I'm not a skinny mini, and my BMI classes me as over weight. I'm 5"5 and weigh 12stone. Confused Cringe!

Indiedog · 04/05/2015 18:14

And sorry for your recent loss Gen, thoughts are with you, and sorry you have had to find your way here to Joy.
Xx

girliesaints · 04/05/2015 18:37

Welcome Joy& congratulations on the bfp. The randomised appointment lasted 4 hours for me, so be prepared to be there a while!

Gen, welcome and sorry for your losses. Think the bmi limit is 35 and I'm certainly nearer 30 but wasn't a barrier for me.

6 wk scan tomorrow. Starting to freak and remember bad experiences of the same scan in previous mcs.

Indiedog · 04/05/2015 18:53

My BMI was 29 I think.

Girlie, I did think you would be in tomar.
To be honest the six week one was the worst for me!! I just wanted to make sure it was there and growing, and kept everything crossed to see a heartbeat, but I completely knew there may not have been a HB at that stage. Bear that in mind, but I'm sure it will be fine.
I will be thinking of you, and on G level it is lovely, and the nurses are really intrigued with us on the trial, as they are separate and the private clinic.
I did get a picture too & 8wk, so make sure you slip that in 'do we get a little pic?'

I am nine weeks today, which is the furthest by a long shot.

Good luck all for DTD, smilies and BFP's xx

clairemorgan81 · 04/05/2015 19:04

gen welcome. I really hope bmi isn't a barrier for you. best of luck I have my fingers crossed for you.
girlie will be thinking of you tomorrow. hope all goes well try not to worry too much if you can help it. let us know how you get on.what times your scan?x

clairemorgan81 · 04/05/2015 19:10

indie how wonderful being 9 weeks along so pleased for you x

Choccywoccydodah · 04/05/2015 19:11

Welcome and congrats Joy!!! Fabulous news! Yes, as others have said, allow yourself a few hours, I got to mine at 8.45am, left at 2.30pm!!

Gen sorry you're here, but welcome. I'm not sure about bro. Mine was 25.2 so I thought it was high!!! I'd just lost a stone.

So, heard pips heartbeat today. Found it on my Doppler, like a galloping horse :) Ds and dh heard it too. Dh was almost in tears and ds had the biggest smile!

Good luck tomorrow for scan!!

Genwah85 · 04/05/2015 19:39

Thanks for your replies....my bmi is 36 ?? I really hope this doesn't hold me back I will loose whatever I need too to help my chances I just hope that they give me the chance too xx

girliesaints · 04/05/2015 19:40

I'm in at 11am tomorrow and dh is coming with me. Had two 6 weeks scan previously one with no hb and didn't progress the following week and the second had a hb only then to have a natural MC At 11 wks. Think I'm on for a rough night's sleep ??

Marchgirl · 04/05/2015 19:43

Exciting about the hb choccy Grin

Good luck for the scan tomorrow girlie, hand holding x

welcome gen. Sorry you find yourself here but I really hope they can help you

Is anyone on a computer and can start up a new thread for us to continue? We're nearly at the end!

clairemorgan81 · 04/05/2015 19:44

choccy how Moby and reassuring hearing hb must have been very emotional. gosh your nearly half way there Smile

girlie i totally empathise I would be same, try and stay positive although its so hard with what we have all been through x

clairemorgan81 · 04/05/2015 19:45

choccy - bloody auto dictionary that was meant to say lovely??Wink

girliesaints · 04/05/2015 19:45

Size, sorry have you gone on holibobs yet? Realised haven't let you know the restaurants for Sa Coma. If you still want them let me know x

Indie, at least bright spot tomorrow will be the g level scan at The private clinic. Epu has too many bad memories, so new place, new start. Only problem is DH's best friends mum who we know works there. We've not told any of our friends that I've had a bfp again, so may have to go in a disguise! Had to ask A to make sure she's not scanning me..

Marchgirl · 04/05/2015 19:46

Did they actually measure other people? She just asked me what my height was gen. I'd be tempted to exaggerate by an inch

girliesaints · 04/05/2015 19:47

I was measured but they made me an inch bigger than I normally am, which made me laugh!

Thanks for the handholding, think it's going to be a crowded waiting room x

Sorry not near a computer to start new thread
