Anyone taking part in the Response Medical Trial or any other medical trial?

Hi, I'm taking part in the Response medical trial and wondering if anyone else on here is too?
It's been a very difficult year and a half and I have had three consecutive miscarriages, 1st in Nov 2013 at 12 weeks, 2nd in July 2014 at 7 weeks, 3rd in Nov 2014 at 9 weeks. It's a 4 month waiting list for my Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic so I'm taking part in the trial as want to keep things moving as worried I'm running out of time (I'm 36 this year - although I was 33 when first started TTC) but I'm in the 2WW and feeling terrified.
There's a lot of extra support offered as part of the trial but I'm feeling a bit lonely and out on a limb about it.
Anyone else on the same boat or had medical trial experience?

Don't forget Size, kazz, she along with choccy is a 12wk graduate!

I think it should be law, the moment you get a bfp, you should get a cleaner. Irony for me is dh has a contract cleaning firm and still refuses to get someone in!

March, wishing the arrival of ?? soon x

Kazz2112 · 29/04/2015 06:45

So that's 5???? That's really positive!

I'm actually a reverse on the cleaner... my DH is pushing for a cleaner but I reckon the £100 or so a month could be better spent. Bit i maybe will back down of we start to get some success

philippa88 · 29/04/2015 07:38

Hey ladies! Sorry I've not been on here recently, feel like I've not had a minute to myself!!

I'm on cycle day 12 today and have been testing for a few days now, my lines are getting stronger so I'm really hopefully I'm going to ovulate - and possibly early! Think I might wet myself when I get a smiley face, it'll be so exciting lol!!!

As far as criteria for the trial goes, I was told it was 3 mc's, age and bmi that counts. Nothing about having scans :/ I never made it to any scans and they didn't mind at all.

How is everyone? I'm feeling positive this month!! Xx

sizethree · 29/04/2015 07:42

Hi everyone abd welcome Kazz.
I've been a bit quiet as its been quite difficult getting out of the routine of injecting. Feeling a bit lost without the structure of the trial which I know sounds a bit pathetic!
So we've booked a week away in Mallorca to get some sunshine and relaxation and to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary, as it's certainly been a rough ride so far.
Great news about healthy scan and I'm looking forward to hopefully some more BFPs in a couple of weeks.
I think it was only choccy and I on this thread when it happened, but my lovely friend suffered a miscarriage back in Januray after 3 years of ttc and starting clomid. And she's just had a 7 week scan and everything looking perfect so maybe 2015 is the year of healthy pregnancies for all!
We were discussing having a cleaner, but I'd probably tidy up in preparation for the cleaner coming, so don't know how beneficial that'd be! And there's something about someone else not doing things the way you'd do things. I'm a bit of a control freak!

HELLO Phillippa Grin.

There feels like lots of positive vibes flying about, let's keep it going.

I love this talk about cleaners! I was/still am a cleaner, as well as working in pre school. I gave all my other clients up but have kept a little old lady as she's like my adopted nan!
I used to do a terraced house, two bedrooms, change bed, bathroom that had sep shower, landing, stairs, hallway, kitchen, dining room and lounge. In two hours, £20, and I am good. I move everything from lamps to microwaves! Not dust around them.
They started to take the mick, by trying to get me to clean the fridge out in that time. Or start shampooing two stars at a time! Slave drivers! I said I'm not a machine, something has to give!

I also did a women's four bathrooms, nothing else, just the bathrooms!!, that was a two hour job! She liked me to finish with a swish of bleach down all the toilets. Her place I had a key, as she was at work.

Just potter around my little ladies flat now, and get bits and bobs at the shops for her.

Choccywoccydodah · 29/04/2015 08:28

Jazz, there's Size too!! :)

Sorry forgot those re cleaner. What's your other halves problem?
I've wanted a cleaner for an age, prob is I used to own a cleaning and ironing company so I'm very particular and know what's clean lol.
However, we own a lot of properties and pay for cleaners to go in so I always feel a bit cheated that I haven't got one ha ha! So DH said why don't we get her in here? I constantly moan about cleaning our house as its a rather large victorian house with lots of rooms, so any help is help!!

Choccywoccydodah · 29/04/2015 08:28

*sorry about

Choccywoccydodah · 29/04/2015 08:31

Sorry missed your post indie! Snap here! My customers were gutted when I gave up cleaning, hence im a bit apprehensive about hiring one lol! I was bloody good at what I did! But I also was a judgey pants when I walked into friends houses Blush Not out loud, just to myself Wink

Choccywoccydodah · 29/04/2015 08:34

Just read back and loads of posts have appeared! They weren't there before pah!

clairemorgan81 · 29/04/2015 09:01

Gosh choccy and Indie do you actually enjoy cleaning? lol
I detest it but definitely have a touch of ocd so I'm constantly cleaning I would so love a cleaner but my dh seems to think since I'm part time I have days off where I just laze around.....yeah right with a 2 yr old!! he's going to get some more nagging now about getting one now!Smile

Choccywoccydodah · 29/04/2015 09:20

I don't enjoy it anymore lol!
I'm going to ask if she does ironing too Wink

Kazz2112 · 29/04/2015 19:15

Has anyone else ever experienced having a dicky tummy during the 2ww before getting a bfp? It's happened all 3 times I've fallen pregnant and my guts are horrific tonight! (Sorry if tmi!) I'm due on next Wednesday and we did ttc this cycle. But if I have caught this time will I not be able to do the trial? I'm not booked in with the trial nurse till Friday!!!

girliesaints · 29/04/2015 19:58

Kazz, you have to not be pregnant when you join the trial and they're do a pregnancy test to check. Not sure if you were then get a bfp a few days later if it would be ok, as you need to know when you insulated as part of the trial.

girliesaints · 29/04/2015 20:01

Size, it's not to be surprised that you're feeling lost without the routine of the injections, I'm already finding them comforting after just a week. I want to book a holiday for after 12 weeks but too nervous to at this stage.

Kazz2112 · 29/04/2015 20:05

Oh well... Will just have to see what happens on Friday! If only my first consultant appointment had gone ahead as planned three weeks agon and I'd seen the trial advert then! They had cancelled it a month before, not informed me and not rearranged! When I questioned why it turns out I'd been booked in to see a menopause specialist!!!!

Took a lot of tears and stubbornness to get our appointment last Monday!

Fingers crossed things will turn tables and start to go right soon. :)

LouiseM1987 · 29/04/2015 20:28

Kazz I suffer from bad ibs but it definitely gets worse in the two week wait when I get a positive after !
I've got my 5 week appt tomorrow and just had my first ever Accupuncture and feeling abit more positive after my dream
Last night which was that I'd miscarried again so was crying when I woke up and had to do another pregnancy test... The line was super dark ??
Hope everyone is ok ? X

girliesaints · 29/04/2015 20:39

Louise, Hope the appointment goes ok tomorrow. Do you have any symptoms yet?

Kazz2112 · 29/04/2015 20:59

Awh louise that's horrible. Good luck for tomorrow! Will be crossing my fingers all will be well. do you get a scan or is it too early?

clairemorgan81 · 29/04/2015 21:01

Ahh dreams can be so realistic Louise that's awful ...... hope tomorrow goes ok x

Kazz2112 · 29/04/2015 21:01

When I say horrible i mean the dress! The super dark line ,Smile

LouiseM1987 · 29/04/2015 21:12

Girlie I don't no .... My boobs hurt and I'm tired but I don't know whether that's Cz I've changed my hours at work and getting used to it ! Have you ?

No scan at 6 weeks kazz.

Claire it was horrible :( I was so scared going to the loo. I always get super weird dreams in my 2ww before I get a positive never any other time... For me it's my first symptom ! Xx

LouiseM1987 · 29/04/2015 21:15

Sign rather then a symptom :)

girliesaints · 29/04/2015 21:50

Snap Louise, sore boobs and tired.trial nurse reckoned sore boobs are a good sign. Shame they're so painful!

LouiseM1987 · 29/04/2015 21:59

Yeah it is ! It was the first symptom I noticed I stopped having when I realised things were going wrong the last three times. I always wanted tiredness as I think that's a big one (to me it is) ive got 11 weeks before but died at 6 weeks so never really hard the tiredness. Xx

Kazz2112 · 29/04/2015 22:19

That sounds exactly the same as me louise. I was 11+4 before any hint of a problem the first time. Baby measured 6+5. Same story round 2 but we paid for an early scan at 9+4. Had stopped around stage. Both times I was exhausted before I got a bfp. I actually said both times correctly that I thought I was pregnant within 24th ours of conceiving and was right. 3rd time was adamant I wasn't and then got a bfp!

I never thought I'd be grateful for exhaustion and sore boobs!
