Anyone taking part in the Response Medical Trial or any other medical trial?

Hi, I'm taking part in the Response medical trial and wondering if anyone else on here is too?
It's been a very difficult year and a half and I have had three consecutive miscarriages, 1st in Nov 2013 at 12 weeks, 2nd in July 2014 at 7 weeks, 3rd in Nov 2014 at 9 weeks. It's a 4 month waiting list for my Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic so I'm taking part in the trial as want to keep things moving as worried I'm running out of time (I'm 36 this year - although I was 33 when first started TTC) but I'm in the 2WW and feeling terrified.
There's a lot of extra support offered as part of the trial but I'm feeling a bit lonely and out on a limb about it.
Anyone else on the same boat or had medical trial experience?

Well I have put this off until after my eight week scan as I didn't want to jinx anything, or make the whole process real until I had got a little further. Off to the docs at half eleven for my appt to book in with a midwife!!! That is what I didn't want to do too soon, get the midwife involved as it seems such a certain move to make.
Already been assigned a midwife etc, as the trial nurse emailed when I got my BFP, so I have a name and number. It's just a case of putting the wheels in motion!!

Just a little bit nervous!

Good luck with everyone that's waiting/symptom spotting or OPKing.

clairemorgan81 · 30/04/2015 08:59

hope app goes ok indie - my first miscarriage I had a booking in app and after that I never made an appointment as didn't want to jinx, ended up I never got that far so haven't had one since. I would do same wait longer, now you 've had 8 wk scan you 'll feel better going . exciting times indie x

Marchgirl · 30/04/2015 10:17

Good luck for booking in indie. How are all the testers getting on? Still a big fat O for me. Feeling a bit agitated about it even though I'm not due to see a smiley for another 2 days!

clairemorgan81 · 30/04/2015 11:02

what day you on again March? big fat O for me too but I'm only CD11 so not expecting it yet. last month it was CD16 month before CD14. fingers crossed you get your Smile. soon x

girliesaints · 30/04/2015 11:13

Hope the appt goes well Indie. Not booking in until I hopefully get to the 8 wk stage, if not longer x

sizethree · 30/04/2015 11:28

I'm the same about booking in appointment. I attebd one for my first pregnancy at 10 weeks. But been very reluctant to accept one ever since.
This time I had it at 11 weeks and my midwife was great as had read my full history. The 'ready, steady, Baby' book and other leaflets are sitting behind reception at my gp surgery until I'm reach up pick them up! She's bejng very sensitive to my over cautiousness.
I had a massive panic yesterday evening as I started bleeding bright red blood.
But I got an emergency scan this morning and baby is still bouncing away completely unaware ofall drama caused. So nothing to worry about thankfully, although it's made me a bit more worried about flying. I just need to rest up, think I over did it yesterday.

I'm cd14 claire. Got positive opk cd16 and 17 last month, but af started a day early due to Coventry scratch this month and bbt didn't drop til the day after it came (when it was supposed to), so really confused about when to expect ov, especially with acupuncture in the mix!

Marchgirl · 30/04/2015 11:35

Cross posts size, sorry to hear about the bleed. Must be incredibly worrying but glad to hear all is ok. Don't think the worry will ever stop until they are here, will it

clairemorgan81 · 30/04/2015 11:41

hopefully Smile is on its way March.......
sorry you 've had a scare size, take it easy, I'm so pleased all okay. I will be a loon if I get pregnant again I know I won't settle until baby here x

Indiedog · 30/04/2015 12:11

Oh size, what a worry, keeping you on your toes!!!
Please cab I ask when you are flying, and how far you will be.
We have booked a visit to the inlaws end of May in Spain, and I will be 12weeks (hopefully). Gave you had any advice on flying? I haven't.

sizethree · 30/04/2015 14:09

Thanks everyone.
I was in a right state last night, thinking the worst. It's so hard not to with all we've been through.
Thankfully it's just a tiny haematoma that caused the bleeding abd will hopefully just re absorb itself.
We are off to Sa Coma in Mallorca. Usually we go to Gran Canaria, but I read up and thjnk it'd be too hot as too much sun exposure and heat isn't great in pregnancy if you're not used to it. The place we've chosen in Mallorca has lots of cover and an indoor pool so I have lots of choice if j get paranoid about overheating abd sunbeams. Plus the flight is only 3 hours (flying ftom Newcastle on Sunday as stupid edinburgh flight was in a Tuesday) so if shoulc ho fast. And the co sultans today recommended we still go as the benefits would outway the risk. With flying the risk is deep vein thrombosis not miscarriage, so they recommend those sexy knee high flight socks and drinking lots of water abd moving around lots. I'm very nervous but I need to stop wrapping myself in cotton wool so much. Worrying won't change the outcome.

Size, sorry to hear you've had a scare and hope the scan has reassured you. Where are you staying in Sa Coma? We stayed there a few years ago and everything is very closely, so it won't be too strenuous x

Indiedog · 30/04/2015 14:41

Size, it's completely understandable to react and feel like you have. I would absolutely freak too! I'm still looking at tissue when I wipe!! Just paranoid I will start spotting!!!

We are off to see the inlaws in Spain. I read about walking around, and water etc. It is hard not to worry, and I am thinking of all the negatives, but really trying to think this is going to stick around.

It's all good, a little bit of relaxation, a little bit of sun, and distraction. Repeat, repeat, repeat.

sizethree · 30/04/2015 14:55

girlie we are going here www.thomson.co.uk/destinations/europe/spain/majorca/sa-coma/hotels/protur-biomar-gran-hotel-and-spa.html . Great that you've been to the area. Looking forward to taking things very easy for the next week. Still feeling a bit shaken after yesterday.
indie I still always check after I wipe. My second and third pregnancies I wore panty liners each day as was so worried. This time I've tried to be a bit more relaxed, and have worn white pants as a bit of a f**k you to anxiety! But it seems the further I get along in this pregnancy, the more there is to lose.
I've graduated from the EPU now so was in the waiting room with all the big bumps and women in early stages of labour. I felt like an imposter!
I just wish I could speed up time and be holding my healthy baby already.

LouiseM1987 · 30/04/2015 15:33

Size I bet that was horrible I always check too ... I'd love to fast forward time just so I know everything will be ok.
Indie I had a midwifes appt with my first pregnancy but didn't with 2nd and 3rd I'm going to wait till 8 weeks or 10 I think(if I get that far)

Size that hotel looks amazing !! I'm very jealous do you go this Sunday? My dh is on a stag do so I'm at home stressing ! But my appt went ok and got my next lot of injections
Xx

girliesaints · 30/04/2015 15:46

I too are a tissue spotter check, think it's only natural given what we've been through. I am currently getting a white discharge (sorry if tmi) which I don't remember getting with my mcs but definitely got with with my dad. Googled it and it happens in pregnancy, so I'm taking as a good sign.

Size, know the hotel and it's fab. If you need restaurant recommendations let me know, although you may be all inclusive x

sizethree · 30/04/2015 16:24

I'd restaurant recommendation please. It's our 2 year wedding anniversary on Monday (may the fourth, Star Wars day - husband is a big fan and will never forget the anniversary date!) so it would be lovely to venture out of the resort.
Feeling a lot better now I've been resting up and horizontal for most of the day.
Anxiety really is exhausting.
Yes, more discharge is common in pregnancy. It took me a bit of getting used to abd I questined it today with the consultant abd she said it's normal. Pregnant women are a lot more prone to thrush too, so if keep an eye out for any changes. It's safe to treat in pregnancy, just sometimes tricky to clear up.

louise dorry you're home alone. You'll be due a nice weekend away to even things up then!
Glad your appointment went well. Are you finding the injections ok?

OP posts:
LouiseM1987 · 30/04/2015 16:48

Ah I've got thrush at the mo (sorry tmi) and it's not going I'll keep using the cream hopefully it'll clear up soon then !

It's his birthday next week so I've paid to stay in a hotel over night so that'll be my little break as it's got a spa too:)
I'm finding the injections ok they sting and the midwife said today not to rub it after as she's heard it doesn't sting as long if u leave it. Hope it's a good sign it's the actual drug if it stings lol !
I'm glad your feeling ok today :) it should be such a lovely wonderful time but it's been tainted now and it's just full of worry for us all :( the joys of the ignorance x

sizethree · 30/04/2015 17:01

louise I'm sorry, thrush is so grim. I was lucky enought to avoid it for many years and only got my first bout about 2 years ago. You can use the applicator too if the cream ain't kicking it (best to insert with clean finger rather than applicator when pregnant as the applicator can go too far up near cervix) but not the oral tablet. Hope you're clear of it soon.
Ohhhh, hotel and spa weekend, lovely. You can stash your injection in the mini bar!
Yes, these eomen who breeze through pregnancy without a care in the world are the luckiest women alive.
I think after 20 weeks I'll relax more. With bumps and kicks it's easier to believe things are going well as there's evidence.

any of you ladies been super crampy prior to ovulation? I'm only CD11 but have had period like crampy feeling all day

Marchgirl · 30/04/2015 17:46

Ooo. Hotel looks lovely size. We went to a posh hotel in greece when i was pregnant with dd as a last holiday for just the two of us and it was lovely. A great memory for you to think back to when you're up to your eyeballs in baby poo Wink

Spa sounds lovely too louise. Hope the thrush clears up so you can fully enjoy it

Marchgirl · 30/04/2015 17:46

Ovulation pain maybe Claire?

LouiseM1987 · 30/04/2015 17:59

Id say ovulation pain too Claire ... Can I ask does everyone already have children ? X

clairemorgan81 · 30/04/2015 18:03

I've had a sharp pain really low down the last few months on ov day but never had this crampy achey feeling before, also I'm way earlier than usual so I doubt very much its that
