Rules of entry: must be ttc #1 for over a year, be suitably evil and hag-like, and submit your BESHtionnaire for our approval. If you are a baby duster or a hun, this ain't the thread for you.

In order to join the BESH you MUST be over 30 and TTC for baybee no. 1 for over a year, be ok with swearing, shout CUNT at the world on a daily basis and howling at the moon should be a regular occurrence. BESHtionnaires must be submitted - no admittance allowed without it (we just want to snigger at your lesbian crush - it's true).Â

Revised BESHtionnare for reference

  1. Do you like gin? (This is compulsory, you must say 'Yes')

  2. Men - are you a gold digger or a cradle snatching cougar?

  3. Baybee-making - to put a baybee in your tumtum, which hole do you use:
    a) weewee
    b) poopoo
    c) foofoo
    d) none, you just pray to the baby Jebus.

  4. Testing - when someone wonders if they should test for updiff (pg), do you:
    a) bellow 'POAS!' at them non-stop and punch them repeatedly in the kidneys till they wet themselves anyway.
    b) Sprinkle them with babydust and send them hugs and kisses on lickle baby angel wings.

  5. Is R2D2:
    a) an adorable robot from Star Wars.
    b) the source of all evil.

  6. Number of pets?

  7. Inappropriate (read: weird) crush of shame?

  8. Lesbian crush?

  9. How much money have you spent on sticks you then urinate on?
    a) Oh nothing, I'll probably catch first time and then get the doctor to confirm it.
    b) Over 100 quid
    c) I opened an account on ebay solely for the purpose of purchasing sticks

  10. Which of these sentences is appalling:
    a) Off to see the consultant today!!! So excited!!!!!
    b) Gud luck hun sprinkling babydust for ya lol xxx
    c) both of the above

  11. How barren are you?
    a) childless and TTC for at least one year
    b) one child and TTC #2 for at least two years
    c) I've been trying for 2 cycles and the wait is driving me mad!

If (c) then the BESH is not the thread for you.

marvellous marvellous news fab!! Grin Grin

Right chez, you next please my lovely!

badb · 28/02/2015 15:49

fab, that news is, well, fab!! I'm so happy for you!

I feel in my waters that this is definitely the beginning of a clusterdiff.

FrankelandFilly · 28/02/2015 16:13

Woohoo! Excellent numbers Fab, you are a differ!

Good luck with the drucks cherry, the stabbing is not much fun but there are little tricks I found to make it easier - take them out of the fridge half an hour before you do your injection (I set reminder alarms on my phone) and use ice to numb the spot.

barkingtreefrog · 28/02/2015 17:12

Frankel it's funny you should say that, I found my second iui injections much more painful than my first round, and I've only just realised I had them in the fridge until the last minute while on my previous cycle I'd not realised they were supposed to be in the fridge at all Blush (although given the 1st one worked briefly and the 2nd one didn't I don't think the fridge made too much difference).

Hags I come bearing presents!!!

For you, lovely pregnant Fab, (I now picture you in BESH land, sitting on the throne with a superwoman cape velvet robe and one hand laid on your OMGIVFtwins btw) I have the palefin dragonet of pregnancy. May it calm you in the weeks to come. Thanks

chez, you have the hardback herring of hopefulness, you're up next, I've got a good feeling about this!!! Grin

For bad the waccamaw killifish of the weekend - well done for getting through Friday, hope the weekend is making up for it. Brew

rain I'm feeling your frustration, accidental instadiffer has sprogged and I've got three mates on their 2nd baby or pg for a 2nd time since we started ttc. Have an acned snake-eel of annoyance to slap them with Grin

Erica I'm jumping to the future and giving you a rabbit fish of reunion - here's hoping having the eggs and swimmers in the same country will help ttc Hmm.

Fizzy have a fissi fish!! It almost sounds like your name!! When do things start moving again for you?

Lovely to see some of the old guard Smile.

I really do hope 3 is the magic number. Could we really get Fab, chez then me in a magical 3 ivf clusterdiff?! How awesome would that be?! Grin Closely followed by another magical 3 ivf clusterdiff from those up next - rain, Erica and fizz? Grin bad feel free to join the party with a nachuralment diff whenever Wink.

Thanks for all the collective well wishes ESH, especially the lovely fishy prizes Barking. Right now I couldn't feel further from being at the peak of health having spent the day in bet with lurgy but I'm hoping I can rest up and get it shifted sharpish.

Frankel I guess I'm lucky in a way; no stabbing in the first part of my DEIVF protocol, only Clexane after TX for me. Sounds like good tips though for thems that do.

Blue2014 · 28/02/2015 20:54

Wooooooohoooooo! For fab ..... Cherry, you're next Thanks

Looks like this thread is bringing much more luck than the last Smile

FrankelandFilly · 28/02/2015 21:25

Ah, glad you've not got any stabbing. It's not the nicest thing . I learnt the "warm the liquid" thing from a vet ??

barkingtreefrog · 28/02/2015 22:00

Shit, Blue you are right - everyone stop posting! I need to get through my ivf before the posts run out on the lucky thread!!!! Shock
not getting superstitious or anything

TheRainDrops · 28/02/2015 22:27

The luck is going to grow with each thread this year barking, it is it is it is (by the power of three!)

Fabuluce · 01/03/2015 00:12

Yay for the power of three! And thank you for my queenly status and fishy gifts Barking - I'm particularly loving my cloak (although I will of course make sure it isn't tied too tightly - health and safety!) and would just like to point out that wonder woman is one of TWH's all time favourite superheroes Smile. If only I was all Amazonian!

Top tip for all injections and especially clexane is to do them reeeeaaaal slooooooooow. The clexane needs to be stabbed firmly and then injected at a snail's pace then you shouldn't get any swelling and a real minimum of stinginess or bruising. I've heard some real horror stories about the bruising but all I have is a selection of tiny bruise dots over my tum tum which is much better than I expected Smile

Thanks again for all your kind and wonderfully supportive messages Hags. I'm still in shock but it's starting to sink in that I might actually have managed to get diffed!

EricaJ · 01/03/2015 04:14

Barking I love my present!

ALittleFaith · 01/03/2015 07:49

As you insert clexane, wiggle your toes, it should minimise the stinging. (There speaks a nurse). Going back to lurking..

barkingtreefrog · 01/03/2015 10:04

I'm feeling all loved this morning, it's our 1st wedding anniversary and DCW wrote such a lovely message in his card it made my cry (in a good way) Smile .
And my presents to him went down very well so I'm very pleased Grin.

chez hope the lurgy lifts pronto. I feel like I'm fighting something off as well. What I'd like to do is light a fire in the wood burning stove and snuggle up with DCW and the dog. But one of the presents I bought him was a Wild Swims book, so we're off to buy me a new wetsuit and then go swimming in a very pretty looking river with a cave for a little mini anniversary adventure.....

Blue2014 · 01/03/2015 18:29

Ah happy anniversary Thanks

Blue2014 · 01/03/2015 19:39

Hags ... Does anyone know the answer to this. I currently live in an area that's well funded for iVF (3 rounds) unfortunately I'm about to move to an area that isn't (3 iui then maybe IVF). Mr Blue reckons I can keep my GP if I stay working in the area (which I will) - is that true and if I'm under the same GP to get to steal their IVF allowance or will it go from my home address?

FrankelandFilly · 01/03/2015 20:02

Hmm, don't know for absolute certain but I moved 5 miles in 2011, crossing from one county to another. I stayed with my old GP practice as it was the closest one to my job anyway, when I got diffed I was told I could choose which county I wanted to go under for ante natal care. That may well be because we're right on the border though.

Fabuluce · 01/03/2015 20:06

Congrats on your anniversary Barking - that's come round quickly!! Your plan for the day sounds insane to me but I hope you thoroughly enjoyed yourselves Grin

Blue I've heard of other people doing that - definitely look into it!

TheRainDrops · 01/03/2015 20:22

blue no idea I'm afraid, although we wanted to move but put it off as the ccg where we would like to move to offers only 1 round compared to 2 + 2 fet where we are now. Definitely worth more research!

Hope everyone's having a lovely weekend, barking you and DCWs outdoors action never fails to impress me! Sounds like an amazing day out, hope you had a great swim!

Fairly chilled one here, yesterday we were out with RAFs family for a 'thing'. It was all good apart from the absolute heartbreak of seeing RAF toting around our gorgeous 7m old nephew (born same time as I would have been due). He's so bloody good with kids it literally rips me apart that I can't give him that. Sad Anyway, shook that off pretty quick and enjoyed the day regardless! Gutted it's Monday tomorrow already tho!!

TheRainDrops · 01/03/2015 20:24

(apologies for inaccurate use of literally)

barkingtreefrog · 01/03/2015 20:34

Blue Funding goes by your gp's address, that's what my consultant told me. I think if you're still working there you should be ok, but I don't know the rules on that. Sorry, I can't remember, how far are you through the system? If you've already been referred to the fertility clinic I'd be tempted to argue continuity of care.

OP posts:
barkingtreefrog · 01/03/2015 20:36

xpost rain, I get exactly the same when I see DCW with his nephew, it's just gutwrenching isn't it? Sad

badb · 01/03/2015 21:37

Happy anniversary, barking! Hope you had a lovely, lovely day.

Hating, hating that it's Sunday. I have really strong ovulation pains, which is unusual for me. Himself went out to watch the rugby and is snoring on the couch. I have to say, I'm not really in the mood myself, but I guess I'll have to step up. Sigh.

Five days till holidays! Five days till holidays!

Fabuluce · 01/03/2015 22:05

Oh that's so rubbish Bad - ovulation is normally a bitch for me and the last thing I want to do is shag when those bitches are aching! Well done you for going once more into the breach!

Where are you going on hols?? It feels like ages since we went away - I shall have to live vicariously through yours instead!

cherrycoconut · 01/03/2015 22:15

Happy Ani adventuring Barking. I too am in awe of your escapades, I hope you had fun!

Good on you Bad, one for the team! Keep thinking of thise holidays coming up.

Fanks for more stabbing advice hags, love the toe wiggling solution. Meh for a bittersweet day Rain. It sucks hey?

Well it may be Monday tomorrow but I doubt I'm moving far from my bed/sofa thanks to being inhabited by evil germs. Peak health attainment is my absolute priority for the next few weeks.
