Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also know as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage. Self explanatory, who wouldn't?

ROC - Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Option decorations include photographs of political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedinging!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

The rather nobbish article in which we became a little bit notorious is here. We are the dark side of MN. Welcome.

Happy Christmas shagging, shaggers!

Wow page 4 of the new Fred already!

ainat I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism a couple of years ago and started looking into how diet could help. I read a lot about sugar and how horrible and addictive it is. Now I am not a health freak by any stretch of the imagination so this is not about to turn into a rant about junk food! However there seems to be tons of evidence that sugar is horrible for lots of different ailments. And fake sugar (ie diet drinks, sweeteners in hot drinks) is pretty much as bad. So I made a couple of really easy changes that even when my diet goes off the rails I stick to. They are having oats, plain yogurt and berries for breakfast instead of Special K which I love but had mistakenly thought was healthy when it is in fact full of sugar - and no longer buying diet coke. I always had it in the fridge and would have it every single day without fail. I like the fizz so I've swapped to fizzy water and now I only have a diet coke if I'm out for lunch or something. I eat tons of other disgusting junk but let's just ignore that I'm not about to announce that I then found myself cured - but just trying to say that in terms of diet there are some easy things you can do to make positive changes.

I also stopped having carbs with evening meals - I already used to mostly only have wholewheat pasta, brown rice and sweet potatoes but I started to only have them at lunch and in evenings would have chicken or fish with veg - I was addicted to mange tout and broccoli stir fried with a teeny bit of oil and a splash of soy sauce for a while! For a week or so I totally missed carbs in the evening, felt unsatisfied with a carb free meal. But then got used to it and it was nice to have lighter meals. This was unfortunately during one of my health peaks and I am now very much in a trough.....and pretty much eating out of one Hmm

So on a different topic I have a touch of cystitis today which I haven't had for years and had forgotten how bloody horrible it is. Managed to get through the day at work without peeing my pants despite feeling the whole day like I was going to. However it seems to have eased off this evening - to shag or not to shag!? I know I should probably avoid it and it's only CD9 so it's probably not essential - but I don't want to lose momentum!

batfish · 08/12/2014 18:23

And it took me so long to write that massive boring post that we're on oage 5!

honeysucklejasmine · 08/12/2014 18:31

Lol bat. I have it set to 50 posts a page so its only page 3 ooh er put your knockers away

I am so sleepy today. Had a nap on the sofa like a badass.

batfish · 08/12/2014 18:34

Ooh I didn't know you could change the settings. Must investigate!

I hear ya with the sleepiness, I haven't even out my Christmas tree up yet because I've hardly been home and when I have I've been too knackered to do anything other than lie down!

Indigoblue2 · 08/12/2014 18:38

Not boring at all bat!

Sounds like great lifestyle changes which are really working for you. I think it really helps to have a couple of simple rules (like the diet coke thing) that you pretty much always stick to. Re cystitis I'm guessing on cd9 you'd be safe enough to skip it for a few days, unless you're an early icer. Doesn't sound like fun!

honey are you twotting yet?

batfish · 08/12/2014 18:46

Not sure when I ice really, last month I had a little bit of ewcm on CD 15 so maybe around then but there wasn't much. But yeah I might give it a rest until I feel like it's totally cleared up - which given that I already feel a lot better than this morning will hopefully just be until tomorrow

honeysucklejasmine · 08/12/2014 19:02

Yeah Indigo, 4dpo. Twotting is such fun. Hmm

Indigoblue2 · 08/12/2014 19:05

I thought you might be! That's the good thing about early icing, more time to twot!!

Indigoblue2 · 08/12/2014 19:11

... Said with a sarcastic tone

Ainat266 · 08/12/2014 19:18

Jelly I went to the doctors about AF not returning after being on cerazette. They did blood tests, and this PCOS is the result...

As for exercising - I HATE exercising outside. It's cold, and I always feel like someone is staring at me. Although now it's always dark when I get home from work maybe outside wouldn't be toooo bad. My favourite exercise is swimming - I guess I feel like I can hide in the water. I was really good for a while at going swimming 3 times a week (well, twice swimming and once aqua class) but have lapsed a little the past couple of weeks. I actually quite like being in the gym too - well - I don't particularly like the gym, but I like how I feel after I've been. Just lately though I've been so tired and lethargic ALL the time that just the thought of going in to the gym or the pool makes me want to cry.

Tink the 10% thing is a great idea. I look at my current weight and my ideal weight and it feels like a totally unrealistic goal. Breaking things down into smaller chunks is a simple, but hopefully motivating, way to get started.

The link was an interesting read - losing 5% of your body weight can increase blood flow to the womb by up to 19%? Maybe I'll make 5% my first goal, then 10%. Seeing as I'm also pretty short I am carrying quite a bit of extra weight on my frame...

I did an OPK last night around 8 - just for kicks - And I did get a negative result, but there was a second line on there. Very faint though.

Since coming off BC in August I had one bleed that was nearly 2 weeks (straight after coming off of it) and then that light bleed for about 24 hours on the 17/18th Nov. That's it.

lildottie · 08/12/2014 20:25

ain I agree small changes are the way forward. That's definitely worked for me and I am starting to prefer my new diet to my old diet. I feel much better for it. I like cooking so i'm always looking for ways to adapt recipes i like to something more healthy. My next quest is going to be a sugar/sweetener free microwavable cake! I'll keep you posted. As for sweet potatoes I find it depends how they are cooked as to how much I like them. I don't mind them boiled (including mashed) but when I've roasted them or baked them I find the taste a bit overpowering. I think you have to experiment to see how you get on with them really. It is definitely possible to serve a meal without carbs though, it just takes some getting used to!

I was also going to add re the OPKs, just because you have the faint line doesn't mean they won't work for you. I've had a lot of tests and they've not found any issues with me but I was always getting faint lines on OPKs until day before icing. And I temped so I know I iced every cycle for 2 years without fail.

jelly definitely get shagging. cramps, ewcm, being merry....all sounds good!

I am sooooo tired today. Had acupunture this morning and got my appt time wrong idiot but luckily the other person didn't mind us being in room together (separated by curtains) so I did get seen a bit earlier. Unfortunately the "other person" was a pregnant woman. Oh the irony! She was nice enough though.

honeysucklejasmine · 08/12/2014 20:27

Yeah, keeps me on my toes indigo Wink

I love sweet potatoes. Especially roasted!

Ainat266 · 08/12/2014 20:29

just did another opk. was expecting a negative, which of course it was. but the second line was there again. A proper squinter though. was fainter than last nights one when compared side by side..

Ainat266 · 08/12/2014 20:37

lil I like cooking too. though work is taking over my life and I'm struggling to find the energy or the time to cook at the min. I will find the time. I need to stop letting work take over, and possibly start bulk cooking at the weekend again. but first I must clear out some freezer space

cookielove · 08/12/2014 21:04

honeysucklejasmine · 08/12/2014 21:08

ChatEnOeuf · 08/12/2014 22:01

Didn't even know blank messages were possible!

Pickle I'm mid-way through - thankfully head of school knew what to write (and how thick to lay it on) in my OOP letter. I did as you intend: got my exams then had a baby, went LTFT - now the NHS and I are 'on a break' Grin

SunshinePickle · 08/12/2014 22:23

Chat you are my new role model!

townsender · 08/12/2014 22:26

Thanks for all the welcomes folks!
So much to keep up with, this is a busy thread isn't it.
Chat, my angel was born in Feb, and we had 12 beautiful days together before she left us. I've been on a doctor advised wait before TTC again, which is why I'm ridiculously excited now we've started trying.
Go Jelly!
