Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also know as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage. Self explanatory, who wouldn't?

ROC - Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Option decorations include photographs of political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedinging!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Happy Christmas shagging, shaggers!

Yeh I have some experience of continental living. My grandparents have a holiday home in Spain (so a little different to living out there) but although local produce is dirt cheap, getting home comforts costs a lot! My mother has lived in France all my life and she had similar complaints about living out there (though she never left lol!).

I swear I just had an orgasmic wee. I was holding it in for a meeting and when it finished I dashed to the loo, it lasted forever but it felt so amazing!!

Also, didn't DTD last night even though I think I saw EWCM, did it two nights before though! (Fell asleep last night before we could get started haha)

Great Fred jelly

Ain to diagnose PCOS they look at bloods and symptoms - I think if you have a couple of dodgy hormones and 2/3 symptoms they tell you what you've been told. If I were you I would rebook a GP appointment to discuss further, request a referral to a gynaecologist and an ultrasound to look at cysts. You may not get these referrals as part of a fertility referral at the moment so it may be best to highlight painful periods to your doc to get looked at if you don't have them you could be flexible with the truth Also request a print out of your bloods and request they do repeat bloods in 3 months to see if the Metformin is helping.

PCOS really isn't a life sentence, its quite manageable for most. The most important thing is diet, low GI as you mentioned above is perfect, or Mediterranean. I am fortunate and have always been a skinny Minnie (until lately - I now have an extra stone of padding, but that's another story). Therefore, Metformin was not my friend - i've been on it 3 times and it always gave me the shits and I lost too much weight on it. So manage my diet really well to manage other symptoms - the only thing I haven't helped myself with is the hairiness - I am like a little furby!!

Roaccutane sorted the acne - although you cant ttc on it.

Lots of patience and years off bcp lead to regular cycles. I now have fairly normal (albeit painful - but that may be endo) periods and ice every cycle. I get normal ewcm, can predict icing and af to the day. In fact last month when I had a cold I had a major panic because I didn't ice but it just happened a day later.

I had awful symptoms 10 years ago but being sensible with diet etc has sorted me out. There are supplements that can help but I would wholeheartedly recommend a naturopath rather than Dr. Google!

The reason I haven't conceived yet is not pcos - my cycles are similar to that of someone without it now - it is because of other factors. I think that applies to Purple and other ladies still ttc too. That's why its really important to get your diagnosis confirmed and treated properly.

Ainat266 · 08/12/2014 11:59

Thank you tink the doctor has put me forward for an ultrasound, I should be getting an appointment in the post sometime soon, I think she said the appointment would be in roughly 2 weeks.

I don't really have acne, my skin isn't perfectly clear or anything but certainly isn't acne. odd few spots from time to time and a little blotchy in places, but nothing a thin layer of foundation won't mostly cover.

as for extra body hair, again I barely have any. A little on my tummy, but nothing that bad...

weight is definitely an issue. and I really find it hard to lose anything.

I've gone back from feeling like there are positive steps I can take to just wanting to cry. my work day is not going well...

jellypi3 · 08/12/2014 12:09

:( Ain huge hugs to you. It can't be easy in the slightest. What made you suspect you have it if you don't mind me asking? Was it the lack of AF?

Hopefully the below link works. Weightloss is hard when due to hormones (I know my extra stone i've learned is down to prolactin and will not budge) but don't feel you have to totally change your life, aim for just 10% weightloss as your first long term goal. So if you're 14 stone its just a stone - you don't need to focus on losing anymore than that to begin with. The below article will tell you why etc - its not actually the one I was looking for but will do....

news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/8125086.stm

I know how you feel too, its shit my lovely it really is. But you'll get through it and when you do it'll be all the sweeter for having struggled Flowers

jellypi3 · 08/12/2014 12:41

Ain, are you able to get out and about, running etc? I am starting the C25K this week hopefully (now my foot is on the mend) and dropping the fasting until my body is a bit more in sync. I can tell you how I find it if you like (I hate gyms so outdoor sports is ideal for me).

TinkerBlue · 08/12/2014 12:51

Ooh Ain also - get Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler.
Try OPK's and temping for a few cycles (as per the books suggestion) and see if you get a pattern. If you are hugely irregular at the moment don't, it will just stress you out. Once you think you are getting into more of a pattern try then for a couple of cycles. I also have high LH but OPK's respond just fine for me. When I was really struggling it helped me to feel a bit more in control, like poas and temping was doing something positive. The NHS wont provide bloods every cycle but doing this will help you determine what your body is doing. But like I say - if you're hugely irregular at the moment perhaps wait until you've been on the metformin for a couple of months.

How long have you been off contraception? And how long are your cycles. If it makes you feel any better when I first came off bc I had periods that lasted weeks and were so frequent I thought I was constantly bleeding! I think that was more coming off bc than pcos though!

Purplecircle · 08/12/2014 13:27

For low gi I switched to seeded bread and wraps, I also eat less of them. I got for low fat grated cheese in wraps. I don't each much fat. I also don't eat a lot of potatoes as they send my sugar sky high....not a massive fan of sweet potatoes though.
Pasta is wholemeal and eaten less often.

Low gi in its simplest form is meat, fish, eggs and fruit and veg. Avoid very sugary fruit like grapes and cherries or don't have more than a handful.

PCOS wise I was planning some laser but can't have when preg so I cancelled it. Didn't bother starting again so I'll stick to waxing and plucking for a while longer. Other than that I don't have any issues with it

TinkerBlue · 08/12/2014 13:35

For me laser was a complete waste of money - it worked for around 2 months after the end of the course then all grew back. I've had 2 courses on my face, one on my legs and 2 on my bikini line! (for the uninitiated that is ££££'s and agony) Never again!

I bought a Philips at home laser jobby too which is ok but lasts around 2 weeks - so the same as waxing!! I am well-ard and do my own waxing too! Would spend a fortune in a salon otherwise Grin.

I love bleach - it itches like buggery when its on but works wonders for my confidence Smile

Can you tell work is slow....... Wink (what other embarrassing problems can I think of to share)[hm]

jellypi3 · 08/12/2014 14:11

I've always had quite hairy arms and belly but I just ignore it! (sometimes shave the belly when on holiday). I use that cream that burns off hair for bikini line and face though.

just popping on to say welcome to the newbies! loving it!!! :-D

jellypi3 · 08/12/2014 14:28

Ok I think I just had my first ever proper spot of EWCM. Every hour day I do a root around to see what I can find and I either come up high and dry or find a wet, watery substance, never anything in between.

Well today I just wiped (not a root around) and on the tissue was what could only have been EWCM. It literally looked like a cracked egg (minus the yolk) and I am ashamed to say I prodded it and it went all stretchy!!! Considering my almost positive OPK's I think this means I am icing?

I can't tell if I have a pain in my side from icing, it is hurting but after playing football yesterday all of me hurts lol!

Cape will be donned tonight!

Khbutterfly11 · 08/12/2014 14:46

yes!!! go jelly

honeysucklejasmine · 08/12/2014 15:02

Lol Jelly congratulations!

SunshinePickle · 08/12/2014 16:32

Hurrah jelly that's awesome! Save some energy for bedtime... No falling asleep first!

chat did you finish training or are you taking a break in the middle? I feel like im stuck on a training machine that I'll never escape. (Hopefully) my last exam in Feb & am planning to go ltft after having a baby.

Purplecircle · 08/12/2014 16:37

Hurray Jelly, get shagging, don't forget arse in the air and a wee buzz after to give it some extra help

Purplecircle · 08/12/2014 16:38

Tink I'm a fan of my epilator as I don't need a good mirror and natural light. If it's an area that's been waxed or plucked, it doesn't hurt much wine helps

SunshinePickle · 08/12/2014 16:58

Epilators make a really scary noise... Like a chainsaw! (...or maybe I just had a rubbish one?).

Purplecircle · 08/12/2014 17:18

Lol mine isn't scary. It's a Braun silkepil

jellypi3 · 08/12/2014 17:18

Thanks lol, I'm out for a client dinner tonight so might get back a bit merry haha! Still hopefully will be up for a shag! Though been getting AF cramps all day :(

OP posts:
SunshinePickle · 08/12/2014 17:33

Can you be sure that they're not ovulation cramps?

Leela5 · 08/12/2014 17:42

Indigoblue2 · 08/12/2014 18:20

Go jelly, go jelly, go jelly!!!

The unmistakable glee when I found ewcm is etched in my mind forever. Like suddenly you body which you're constantly cursing and hating is finally doing something right!!

Indigoblue2 · 08/12/2014 18:20

I think on the balance of probability, with ewcm and your OPKs, it's prob ovulation jelly. Are you temping?
