What news Smidge?

How are you feeling Trill?

Well I've just bought a pair of trousers that fit perfectly, and trousers never fit me. I wonder if they might stop fitting soon........? Iyswim

Pipbin · 12/11/2014 20:06

Oh Tiger, he looks like my old dog. Is he a lurcher?

tigerdog · 12/11/2014 20:17

Sounds like a great way to invoke the law of sod *pip!

She's a retired racing greyhound, lazy beyond belief!

beakybeak · 12/11/2014 20:32

Tiger she is gorgeous Smile I would totally pet her with her lovely doe eyes! I've been looking into fostering to see if we can do that, we do want another pup or two in the future but not until IVF is finished and we know what's happening. Sounds tricky re work and appointments but when you've started you might find it easier than you thought.

Pip fx you get no use from the new trews at all Grin

Pipbin · 12/11/2014 20:51

Sorry for getting the gender and breed wrong there Tiger

sparechange · 12/11/2014 21:06

Well if we are doing pet equality..! This lump of dog gorgeousness has saved my sanity for the last year

Pipbin · 12/11/2014 21:13

Well I've just looked over past stats and if I make it to tomorrow without bleeding then I'm doing better than last time.

tigerdog · 12/11/2014 21:41

pip that sounds so promising. Fingers crossed.

Beautiful puppy spare!

epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/70037

E petition calling for fairer IVF funding in the nhs, thought it might be of interest! I have signed.

lumen · 12/11/2014 22:16

Best of luck if you are testing today/tonight smidge

Love the law of sod pip, hoping this works for you and you have no bleeding through pregnancy, fx

I'm on thanks to those who have asked, feeling more normal and not at all pg Hmm. Worked from home today as it is our wedding anniversary and MrL is working for the afternoon/evening/night so we got to have breakfast and lunch together. He was really sweet this morning and thanked me for everything I have put my body through for us this year, so hopes this works out for us.

beakybeak · 12/11/2014 22:29

Signed it Tiger

Spare gorgeous fur baby you have there.

Pip fx for you!

Lumen happy anniversary for tomorrow!

Pipbin · 12/11/2014 22:51

Thanks for the petition Tiger

Smidge when is OTD?

I'm channeling Ganesha and sod here. Wink

Pixie001 · 12/11/2014 22:55

Lumen happy anniversary!
Such cuteness all these fur babies! Would love a woof but unfortunately our working hours at the moment would mean it spending too much time on its own.
Pip hope you make it safely thru tomorrow...I've learnt we need to celebrate every little success so sounding good. Hope those trousers soon don't fit.
Smidge what news? Hope you doing ok.
Thanks for link tiger. It is crazy the ivf post code lottery. We've had to go private this time as my bmi is too high. Having lost a couple of stone I'm now only half a stone off nhs eligibility for next round not that we'll need it but a few miles down the road and I would already be eligible which is annoying.
1st jab done tonight. Bit fiddly but DH did it. "Your Dr will see you now" he said when he'd got it set up on dining room table. Think he enjoyed stabbing me. Especially after my miles lately!
Gill how you getting on?

Pixie001 · 12/11/2014 22:57

Moods not miles (throws phone out window)

Jelliebabe2 · 12/11/2014 22:58

Hi ladies - hang in there Smidge? When are you going to test?

Trill 8 eggs is Fabulous! Bet they're getting jiggy right now! Do you get a call tomorrow?

Happy annimaversary Lumen!

Hoooooo to everyone else. Just going on quick so sorry not to comment more

Here is my puddy tat Jasper! Caught mid lick! He's 13!

Pipbin · 12/11/2014 23:01

Pixie which jabs is he doing? DH has only ever done the ones in my bum for me.
As for losing weight I found 'do I want this biscuit or a baby' to be very motivating.

Smidge001 · 12/11/2014 23:22

Pip I have my fingers crossed for you - one more day with no bleeding and you'll be on the home straight! Third time's a charm maybe?!!!

I got proper red bits of blood yesterday evening so I had a massive cry and agreed to do a HPT this morning so hubby would be with me. Not surprisingly, it was negative Sad. I'm not bothering with the crinone gel today as it seems pointless and I'd rather just let my body get back to normal more quickly. I spoke to the nurses on the phone and they say they do definitely still want me to go in for my blood test tomorrow (could have done today if I'd called before they send off for testing, doh) - partly to double check of course, but also to look at oestrogen and progesterone levels. I had a good chat to the nurse though (I got my favourite one, a lovely northern Irish nurse) and talked about the frostie. AliG doesn't work on Fridays (well, she reviews blood tests etc and speaks to the nurses but not to clients) so I was worried that if I need to do anything to start the frozen cycle straight away, that i might miss out. But Lovely Nurse has put my mind at rest and gone through what usually happens on a FET cycle. Apparently they'd just use tomorrow's blood test as base line (assuming oestrogen looks that way), then wouldn't do anything more til about day 10 of my cycle, when I would start to have daily bloods to see when I ovulate. (What's wrong with pee sticks?!! Why must they insist on stabbing my poor veins?) then when they work out ovulation, I'd start on progesterone 2 days after that, then have the transfer at day 5, then start back on the clexane. Apparently the crinone gel isn't covered by medicare so I'd have to use some other progesterone pessaries that are cheaper and I suspect the messy ones that I've heard the berries complain about. (But I do have a few crinones left so I can have a couple of days on that...)

Haven't suggested to my DH that I want to start immediately, but hopefully he'll be ok with it given it's a lot less invasive. (She didn't even mention a dildocam)

I'm actually coming to England for Christmas and won't still be in Aus for the whole of that cycle, but I don't think I'll mention that to AliG... I wouldn't be flying out til about a week after FET so hopefully not a biggy. Maybe I can get a blood test done at my uk GP and email the results back to her anyway...

Having a plan in mind makes it easier to cope with. The idea of having to wait until February (which is what I'd have to do if I can't start immediately) just makes me really down/depressed. Will have to see if AliG recommends using the frostie so soon first though - she might want me to wait.

As for everyone else, my fingers are crossed. Sounded like a good batch of eggs Trill well done. Keep us updated on their progress. Good luck to the PUPOs. I have enjoyed reading everyone else's news even though I haven't really felt like posting myself.

lumen · 13/11/2014 04:54

Sorry to hear your news smidge, after all we put ourselves through on these cycles a bfn is always a kick in the gut Hmm. I hope that AliG and your dh are on board with your plan. Big hugs coming over the sea to you x

happylass · 13/11/2014 06:52

Oh Smidge I'm so very sorry to hear that. This is all beyond unfair. Thinking of you today. Take care x

OP posts:
Gillster · 13/11/2014 06:55

So sorry Smidge that this hasn't worked out, bloody unfair! Is your DH away for one day? Hope you have a chance to rest and relax over the weekend.

With regards to the FET, I totally understand that you'd want to get going again so soon but is it really sensible to be doing a long haul flight during the 2WW? I would check with AliG first. Also, is it worth considering an endometrial scratch before your next treatment to try and improve implantation chances?

Good haul of eggs Trill, hoping they had lots of jiggy energy last night!

Exciting times Spare! Hope they defrost OK. Remind me, were they all frozen at the blast stage?

Good luck with the stimming Pixie.

AFM, plodding along with the DR here. Not too much in the way of side effects other than me waking up early and feeling really old (have aches and pains). Not sure is this is drug related or not. Just hope that AF turns up at the weekend so I stay on track.

Will do a treatment summary update at the end of the week when we get a couple more progress reports in.

Jelliebabe2 · 13/11/2014 07:16

Sorry smidge, that's gutting. Sad. Hope you can start again soon but do feel that giving it a month or two would probably give you better conditions after a good bleed and a rest to get lining etc back to normal.. Big hugs honey

Smidge001 · 13/11/2014 07:31

Thanks berries. I know what you're saying re the flight Gill, and certainly if it was a stimming cycle I wouldn't even suggest it. But apparently with the FET the only drugs I'd be on would be the progesterone pessaries, and the Clexane, which as a blood thinner may even be advantageous on a long haul flight! But I will still think about it. Part of the reason for wanting to start so soon actually is because I had an endo scratch this cycle, and am hoping the effects of it may carry on through to this one.

I would definitely wait if it were a fresh cycle but am keen (at the mo) to get started sooner on the FET. Will see what AliG says I guess. Maybe the endo scratch doesn't last more than one cycle anyway... (Though they did remove a tiny bit of endometriosis too (from outside the uterus) and I think that is definitely better sooner than later).

Hubby is back this evening, he just wouldn't have been with me tomorrow for the blood test results.

Hope there's still no spotting from you Pip

tigerdog · 13/11/2014 07:35

Sending you a big hug smidge. I'm so sorry you got a bfn. It's just not fair. Sad someone needs to have a word with whoever is making the rules up in this ttc game. I know what you mean about needing a plan to keep from feeling so down and I'm sure your FC would advise you on what is sensible.

Hope everyone else is ok. Still keeping everything tightly crossed for good news.

CatsCantFlyFast · 13/11/2014 08:04

Smidge I was lurking hopefully so am de lurking to give you a big hug and ?? be kind to yourself today and plan something lovely for the weekend if you can x

ladybunnikins · 13/11/2014 08:31

I'm so sorry, Smidge, about the BFN. I can understand wanting to get on with the FET straight away but if they are doing it on an unmedicated cycle then ovulation might be delayed if it's straight after the IVF cycle. If you are in the UK at Christmas I have a spare box of progesterone pessaries I can post.

Pipbin · 13/11/2014 08:58

Still no spotting.
