The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Sorry to those who've been got by AF.

Well the baby chat at work today has been pretty much constant, including pg women talking about cutting down on smoking Angry I had a complete meltdown on DP at lunchtime. He's cooking me my favourite meal tonight to cheer me up Smile

Cariad2014 · 24/10/2014 17:45

Thanks Purple.

Treacle - no need to apologise. I know how it feels to be having a bad day at work and feeling that if it wasn't for the mc you'd either already be on mat leave or in my case, due to go on mat leave in February. It really is one of the huge downsides of being in this boat. On a more positive note, does your fertile period coincide with half term?

Chasing - Other than for ectopics, I don't think there's any hard and fast rule about when you can try again after a loss. The main advice is to wait until you're emotionally ready, which is likely to vary from couple to couple. The downside of trying immediately is that the cycle after a miscarriage is often long and unpredictable, which can mean that you can be in limbo for a while, not knowing whether AF is late because you're pregnant or simply because the mc has caused your cycle to be out of whack. Realistically, your body is unlikely to start gearing up to ovulate until your hcg levels have fallen to 0, so if you can bear to do it, if you are going to try in the WTF cycle, it is worth doing hpts until you get a negative, as that way you'll know that any future pregnancy test is positive because of a new pregnancy. The other downside of trying in the wtf cycle (and the reason they don't advise it post an ectopic) is that dating the pregnancy any time before the 12 week scan can be difficult.

NewEraNewMindset · 24/10/2014 17:47

Hi girls. Had my day 21 done today, on day 17 due to short cycles, so hoping for a decent result on Monday/Tuesday. If they are happy then they will test my DP next.

I'm in 5dpo now and feeling less than confident. It's funny but straight after OV I'm always wildly optimistic, yet as the days drag by I get more and more pessimistic. It's so stupid.

Don't think I'm going to test this month as it always ends up with bfn on 10 dpo and the last few days go so slowly as I know I'm not pregnant and just waiting for AF.

Please little egg be in there and be implanting.

Cariad2014 · 24/10/2014 17:50

Sorry you've had such a rubbish day TheSmallBear. Your DP sounds fab though. There's nothing better than my favourite meal to cheer me up.

thesmallbear · 24/10/2014 17:55

Thanks Cariad. Yes he is fab Smile

Cariad2014 · 24/10/2014 18:00

Good luck with your test results NewEra. I really hope your little bean is implanting right now. Ttc is such an emotional roller-coaster. Historically, I've tended to be optimistic right until the moment I take a hpt, beyond which I've been known to while away many an hour googling "BFN at 12dpo then BFP" etc.etc. That having been said, I'm hoping to adopt a casually indifferent approach this cycle and will only test on 13dpo if I haven't encountered any AF symptoms by that stage. As if that's going to happen

Tryingno1 · 24/10/2014 18:10

My af also arrived . 6 hpt wasted in the process.
And yes an ovulatory cycles can be longer but it can also take up to weeks plus for preg hormone to leave post ercp and so ur period could come 6/7 weeks after the ercp...it's hard not to worry but I'm sure it's coming or a bfp is!

chasingtherainbow · 24/10/2014 18:18

Thanks for the useful info guys!

My pregnancy tests are all neg. I've got a blood test on Monday to double check hcg.

My cycles are usually long and irregular (up to 60 days) so hoping the mc might restart normality actually! But who knows.

broodylicious · 24/10/2014 18:22

Oh treacle, sorry to hear you've had a tough day. Don't apologise though, hun, you know we don't ever mind. And no, it doesn't matter a single jot when your bubba is born, just as long as it's healthy and here for you to snuggle. Hope you have a relaxing weekend xx

Hugs to you too smallbear. I do not miss workplace shittiness like that Sad Must have been very hard for you. Honestly, preggos smoking at all?!?! AngryAngry

Lol cariad, that was my exact googling history last cycle!!Grin

Monten · 24/10/2014 18:47

charlieis30 · 24/10/2014 19:41

Hi everyone
Just wondering if anyone has experience of heavier periods after MC?
MC2 in Aug (ERPC), was a little surprised that AF arrived bang on time at about day 30, then had another full AF 10 days later. GP thought I might have ov'd twice. AF arrived monday (b*tch) again bang on after 30 days. All 3 since the MC have been heavier than I'd ever experienced before. I really shouldn't have googled but I did and now I'm all freaked out.
It's been a really difficult week, I was convinced I was preg and so was so so disappointed when AF arrived.

Treaclepie19 · 24/10/2014 19:50

Oh don't tell me what you've found Charlie, I'll panic :p
my periods have been much heavier. This one is horrible, been so dizzy and headachey.

broodylicious · 24/10/2014 19:54

Hi charlie. My periods after mc have arrived pretty much as normal, give or take a couple of days, but they've been shorter and heavier. I used to be on for four or five days, medium flow. Now though, it is heavyish for day one, awful day two but gone by mid of day three at the latest. I also get quite nauseous and verrrry bloated for about five days beforehand, which I never had before. You know, as if the actual mc isn't bad enough, we have to go through all this stuff as well!

Hope26 · 24/10/2014 20:07

Hi ladies I have posted on here for a while, so I haven't caught up with the thread. Congrats on the BFPs and sorry if you find yourself here. It really does suck.

I just want to update you, I am nearly 19ws now, I think, 20w scan coming up in November, I just want to say be positive and you all will be blessed with a baby soon. Once you get BFP the worry doesn't stop because you keep getting paranoid and worried about your next pregnancy however have faith and you will have healthy babies.

I have started to just about now embrace my pregnancy after so long of being in denial and thinking it can go wrong again. Still have that fear but please pray this bean makes it.

For newbies - I had a mmc at 16w (baby measured 13w) in April 2014. Conceived after the first AF, we waited for first AF and then tried and it happened.

MC is very hard and I hope none of you have to go through it again. Really scars you but there is always hope for a better day.

Xxx

broodylicious · 24/10/2014 20:11

HOPE!!! I was thinking of you the other day and wondering if you were ok as I knew you'd be quite far along now. How are you feeling? So good to hear from a graduate of this board SmileSmile Are you going to be finding out the gender? Xx

Hope26 · 24/10/2014 20:45

Aww broody is nice to know You thought of me! I do want to but my husband is saying no he doesn't want to know!!! So frustrating but if I find out I know I will probably end up making it obvious and spoiling the surprise for him. I will wait for the scan and see if he changes his mind. I'm always lurking on the thread, all you ladies have been amazing support and I'm hoping to read more BFPs

Hope26 · 24/10/2014 20:47

I feel fine, bump showing now which didn't happen last time although I reached 16ws last time, feels strange as its my first. Feel huge but no complaining- I'm trying to enjoy it now

charlieis30 · 24/10/2014 21:22

treacle/broody that's funny you both mentioned thing I've had this time around. Part of the reason I was so convinced I was preg was nausea and dizziness! It's so crap. I've been so down I've definitely been going a little overboard on my bucket glass of wine after work each night this week so I'm generally feeling really crap and teary.

Treaclepie19 · 24/10/2014 21:25

Aww Charlie :(
I know how you feel. Im sober for october though so not able to have my ritual af has arrived wine.

Glad baby is doin well hope :)

Seems like everyone is having a bit of a rubbish week! We need some BFP's or at least positive OPK's :) sorry to everyone being baby bombed and the smoking thing made me angry just reading it!

With regard to my baby bomb... I don't see her much as she's in another team just happened to come over to ours to share her news so hopefully she won't come over much more :)

Monten ... My Google history looks exactly the same!! I wipe it every now and then so that i don't look so crazy completely obsessive and insane

Monten · 24/10/2014 22:41

Oh hope that's amazing! I often think if you and other board grads too. Huge hugs xxx
