For old birds to support each other through the madness. New old birds are most welcome, join us in the chicken coop.

Tranquility, it was even worse than that. Hubby was kindly holding my hair back, and shook his head at me when I asked him to refresh this thread whilst barfing in a bin!!!

Thankfully the nausea has abated slightly now.
One thing that may be worth considering if they don't call you back fast is a private scan? Our local NHS women's hospital has started doing early reassurance scans costing £45. Think I may well be rather over-utilising this particular service over the coming months....

Do remember tho, they may not be able to find a heartbeat at 6 weeks but this doesn't mean anything is wrong just that it's a bit early to def find one. 7 weeks should be fine tho. Grin

Is anyone else nearing the end of their 2ww?
Xxx

Tranquilitybaby · 15/10/2014 23:02

Ha ha ha that's brilliant! Sorry Mr Hexy!

Think the scan is just to check little bean is in the right place, rather than anything else. I'll call them again tomorrow x

Hope you have a barfless night x

AnnieHoo · 15/10/2014 23:02

Puppydogstails1 · 15/10/2014 23:05

can I join :)
In month 2 ttc number 4...was trying to be relaxed about it and after the first BFN feel a bit more panicky. Am 40 now and will be 41 if lucky enough to get BFP soonish!
Can I ask what supplements beyond folic acid people are taking? TA

Gingerbreadlady1 · 16/10/2014 11:58

Hi & welcome puppydog.

annie how are you getting on?

Time for an old cluckers antenatal thread yet?

OP posts:
HexyQueen · 16/10/2014 12:34

I'm up for that. Determined not to join any of the other threads as they are scaring the shit out of me with bad things I hadn't even thought of going wrong.

Hi Puppydog I didn't take any supplements beforehand other than folic acid, used Clearblue dual hormone tests, temp charted & tracked EWM. I did cut out some of the very long list of medications I'm on for various conditions tho. Good luck!

Yes, any news Annie? When do/did they put the fertilised egg(s) back in your henhouse? Fingers & toes crossed 4 u xxx

Tranquilitybaby · 16/10/2014 14:39

Thanks Annie xxhows things with you?

Welcome puppydog good luck to you. I take 5mg of folic acide and a Sanatogen prenatals.

I'd love a clickers antenatal thread ginger ! X

stubbornstains · 16/10/2014 19:26

Clickers and cluckers...clucking clickers. I mean clicking cluckers! Grin

Katewright699 · 17/10/2014 09:36

Just a quick question please girls... Is it imperative that me and oh dtd tonight as well .. My positive opk was Wednesday morning and we dtd weds night and last night... Just wondering how important dtd tonight as well is as the little swimmers can survive a few days ... Because to be honest me and dh are totally shagged out lol xx

Gingerbreadlady1 · 17/10/2014 14:42

kate I'd say you've got the bases covered & if you can't be arsed it will be awful. The month of our bfp literally the only time we dtd was day of pos opk & the next, we too were shagged out. Good luck!

OP posts:
Katewright699 · 17/10/2014 14:49

Ahhh great thanks ginger... Kinda needed to hear that ! It was a bit of a mission last night tbh but we persevered and got there in the end lol but don't want to put too much pressure on dh as I know he's tired from work etc and has been very thoughtful and supportive so far, so don't want to push my luck Grin

Gingerbreadlady1 · 17/10/2014 15:03

It really does wear you down. And messes with your sex life/drive. Keeping fx for you. I'm off to the lakes on hol for a week so may not be on here but I'll be back!

OP posts:
Katewright699 · 17/10/2014 16:43

Cheers ginger it's weird doing it for a purpose other than just for pleasure.. It's amazing how quickly it saps the fun out of it lol !!!! Have a lovely hol and with any luck I might have a nice update to share who knows !!!

HexyQueen · 17/10/2014 20:18

Yeah, Kate you dont have to do it every day, as it just becomes a chore and this can take months and years. Every other day is fine on ov week is enough cos the little swimmers inside you from the last time can DTD for you on the days in between. Like Ginger we DTD less the month of my BFP than usual cos DD started school, came home with a stomach bug on day 2, I was vomiting by day 3 so our plans to DTD like bunnies that week never happened. The sperm can survive inside you for up to 5 days (grim but handy fact) which is why I think its good advice to start slightly early as you never know when a vomiting child/recalcitrant teenager is going to throw a spanner in your works.

Have a lovely break Ginger

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 17/10/2014 22:04

Hi hope every one is well. Enjoy your break gingerbread. It's A.F or testing time for me next week. Can't believe how fast these cycles come around. Probably not fertile at the moment but we still dtd earlier on for good measure.

patch77 · 17/10/2014 22:28

Just 4 days to wait for af to make her monthly visit then I can try ringing up for an appointment for the hsg scan.

BobsyBoo · 17/10/2014 22:39

Just thought I'd pop on & see how everyone is doing.

Hope all the pregnant ladies are keeping well & congratulations Tranquility

I'm currently on DPO5 & AF due Wednesday, we only managed to DTD once this cycle as OH wasn't well, I suppose it makes a change from him being tired though! Our sex life is purely for TTC, we didn't have sex after DD was born until she was nearly 2 & half & we only started to TTC our second. So sex is a chore for us which it shouldn't be & I wish it wasn't but OH has such a low sex drive I'm sure he'd be happy to never have sex again.

Tranquilitybaby · 17/10/2014 23:47

Have a lovely time Ginger

Ooh a few of you due to test soonisg then - exciting! Good luck x

Thanks Bobsy xx

butterflyroom · 18/10/2014 08:27

Please can I join? Have one DC aged 6. MC end of May at 11 weeks. Was traumatic. Been TTC since but no joy. Physically I don't feel quite 'right' if you can follow. 40 next year.

Katewright699 · 18/10/2014 09:10

Thanks for the advice hexySmile had a few ppl tell me they got pregnant and weren't at it like rabbits so to speak,it does only take one swimmer at the crucial time I suppose !!! And my dh is very similar bobsy he's never had a particularly high sex drive and can take it or leave it most of the time lol ... He's been quite up for it this time round but I don't think it will last !!

BobsyBoo · 18/10/2014 19:21

Kate good to know I'm not the only one, it makes TTC so difficult, I'm on my 21st cycle of trying for #2 so very disheartened. We are managing at least once when I get a +OPK though.

HexyQueen · 18/10/2014 19:51

Welcome Butterflyroom, sorry to hear about your m/c, many of us on here have had them too so you are not alone. But on a happier note quite a few of us older ladies are also up the duff at the mo so there is always hope. Xxx

butterflyroom · 19/10/2014 18:33

Thanks Hexy Smile

AnnieHoo · 21/10/2014 10:11

Hello new old chicks Smile!

I've been away doing IVF but sadly I looks like it's failed. The blood test today will confirm.

I'm at work trying not to break down.

I am sad that the embryos didn't stick and all that hope has gone.

I'm 41 now and wasted all that time on Clomid... Maybe I've been too old from the start at 39... It seems that every time I get pregnant it's abnormal so I should see that as a sign to stop.

Will need to go and do some grieving now before deciding what to do next.

Thank you all for your support you have been so kind xxThanks

Gingerbreadlady1 · 21/10/2014 12:38

I'm so so sorry annie, was so hoping it was just a shy one after all. We'll all be here waiting to support you in whatever steps you decide to take next. Huge hugs Thanks.

Up-duffed old birds, I'm gonna start us a thread in antenatal groups, don't leave me hanging....
