Hello Ginger, Tranquility, Stubborn, Patch, Annie and all the new ladies ((waves to everyone))

Just thought I'd pop on and say hello and see how everyone is doing :)

Ginger huge heartfelt congrats, so happy for you and amazing pic of your future son or daughter! xx

Stubborn heartfelt congratulations to you too, so happy for you xx I logged on to the April anti natal thread and quickly realised it might not be the best place for me :) As an 'older' mum to be I have enough to worry about without other people giving me new things to worry about that I hadn't thought of. :)

Annie all fingers and toes are crossed for you x

Hexy Congratulations!

Wishing everyone boring and uneventful pregnancies :)

Tappy My advice for you would be to give up! We ttc for a year with no joy and then decided to give up and get on with life. I went back to my morning latte and occasional glass of something and bingo the following month!

It's been quite an eventful few weeks for me, think I last logged on at 9 weeks after my trip to A&E and the EPU. Well since then I've been signed off work for 3 weeks to rest, which has been lovely and I don't want to go back :) I had my first midwife appt and I like her which is a bonus, I had to smile at the 'High Risk Maternal Age' in capital letters and highlighted on the top of my notes. I've been told I'll have consultant led care due to my age (I'm 41, will be 42 when baby arrives) Ginger and Stubborn are you having consultant led care?

I had my 12 week scan last week which was nerve wrecking after the big bleed at 9 weeks but all is ok and baby has a strong heartbeat. As first time parents to be we were both amazed at how developed baby is already and we could see her put her thumb to her mouth and stretch her arms and legs. We were so relieved but then the sonographer told us the baby has enlarged kidneys so we're waiting for an appt with the consultant to discuss the implications and we have another scan booked in 4 weeks to check on the kidneys again. I had the combined screening test and our chances of downs are 1 in 270 which is low risk so I haven't been advised to have an amnio. We're relieved our outcome is low risk but 1 in 270 that doesn't seem that low really. Aside from all the medical stuff I'm doing great and still don't have any pregnancy symptoms apart from one....I'm as horny as hell!!! :) It's got to the point DP is starting to hide from me, every time I see him I jump him! :)

Tranquilitybaby · 14/10/2014 17:32

Hi Inshock good to hear from you!

Sounds like you've been through the mill the last couple of weeks. So glad your scan is ok. Hope the next one to check the kidneys goes v well.

Lucky DH eh! Wink

Katewright699 · 14/10/2014 19:10

Oooo is that the fr hpt's tranquility ?

stubbornstains · 14/10/2014 19:39

So good to hear from you inshock! And so good to hear that you got to see your baby! I really hope the thing with the kidneys isn't too serious- will keep everything crossed for baby shocker....xx

On a lighter note, I can't stop picturing you chasing DP around the kitchen to the Benny Hill music Grin.

My DP should be so lucky- I just feel too exhausted and crap to even contemplate going there. Which is a shame, because after months the pressure to DTD at specific times or else has been lifted! Hopefully I'll get my mojo back in the second trimester....

I haven't seen a midwife yet. I haven't even announced myself to the GP yet, to get the MW's number! I'm saving it as something to look forward to in week 8....yes, about 9 days away, count'em...Grin. I must say I'm surprised you get High Risk Aged Crone Status at the ripe old age of 41- I thought they were v. relaxed about that kind of thing nowadays?

It's great to see gingerbaby! I thought they were supposed to look like chicken nuggets at 8 weeks, but I have to say it's a very cute chicken nugget! Does exceptional beauty run in the family? Grin

So....AF due today, is that right, tranquility? La la diddly la.....Smile

stubbornstains · 14/10/2014 21:07

Actually, I was just thinking about the GP, and how I'm looking forward to telling her, because she's been the one I've been seeing for the whole TTC/ fertility journey, and she's quite sympathetic....

When I went to see her to firm up my referral to the fertility clinic, at the end of the appointment she gave me what can only be described as a knowing leer, and said "Maybe you'll be pregnant before you get your appointment at the fertility clinic".

Counting back on my fingers, I realise that I must have had the fertilised egg bouncing around my tubes at that very moment. Do you think medical professionals can smell pregnancy? Grin

Tranquilitybaby · 14/10/2014 22:33

Yes kate , I order two double packs for £10.49 delivered on the superdrug website yesterday. X

stubbornstains · 15/10/2014 20:41

What's up lovely?

Tranquilitybaby · 15/10/2014 20:43

I'm guessing this couldn't poss be an evap line?! Wink

Woo hoo! Old cluckers, over here!
Tranquilitybaby · 15/10/2014 20:46

I don't have any other tests in the house as the FRER haven't arrived, IC's don't give false positives do they?!

stubbornstains · 15/10/2014 20:47

GrinGrinGrin

OK, disclaimer- I've never used one of those kind of sticks- but it looks like a very positive BIG FAT POSITIVE to me!!

Congratulations!!!

How are you feeling? xxx

stubbornstains · 15/10/2014 20:51

False positives are very very very rare, even on ICs, and when I once saw one debated it was very faint......

That is a very strong, clear line you have there!

I would say you're 99.99999% certain to be up the duff! Thanks

Can you not go out/ send DP out to the supermarket/ 24hr chemist?

.....because I doubt you're going to sleep anyway until you've done another test, are you? Grin

stubbornstains · 15/10/2014 20:54

....but right now, I believe this site would provide you with some definitive answers.....

Tranquilitybaby · 15/10/2014 21:06

Erm scared, no terrified, thrilled, shaky, nauseous!

I have four FRER on the way in the post so don't really want to get anymore. I actually got that yesterday, but was too chicken to post! I found a random one in the bathroom cupboard. It came up within about 20 seconds! Gulp.

Tranquilitybaby · 15/10/2014 21:07

Thank you for your replies Stubborn xx what do I do now?! Rang EPU yesterday but they haven't bothered to phone me back yet.

HexyQueen · 15/10/2014 21:45

Omfg!!!! Congrats Tranquility! That is most def a BFP. (I'm clapping my hands together with glee in bed in between barfing in a bin here!). As far as I understand it Stubborn is right, it's v v rare for false positives. Cos u need the right preggers hormones to trigger a line, but can get false negs cos u may not yet be producing enough hormones.

This forum is fizzing with BFPs! Come on ladies rub yourselves on us, we are on a roll!!!!!!!

stubbornstains · 15/10/2014 21:48

Ha! Well, that's defo not an evap line then!

Well, I had a snack. And took a Valium (safe in pregnancy!!). I don't suppose you have a stash??

You must be bouncing off the walls! OK, if I'm not mistaken, both your previous BFPs were a little faint and doubtful, weren't they? And this one is very clear...well, that's a good sign, for a start.

Did you ring the EPU because you're worried about an ectopic again? Would they be able to see anything on a scan at this point?

If I were you, I'd go and see my GP (or have you got an unhelpful one? Can't remember...) tomorrow, just to talk stuff through, and try to get some reassurance and get a prescription for Valium.

(makes soothing noises) Ommmmm.....calm....try and get a good night's sleep. You are pregnant! CONGRATULATIONS!! There is no reason why this one should not be a healthy one....

Gingerbreadlady1 · 15/10/2014 22:00

Wow! Amazing! Omfg tranquility, there's no maybe about it, that is a bfp! Xx

Massive congrats tranquility GrinThanks.. Am seriously rubbing myself in all of you lucky ladies baby dust right now lol xx

Tranquilitybaby · 15/10/2014 22:31

Pmsl Hexy glad I made you grin whilst you're barfing in a bin!

Yes they were stubborn, this is very very different! Eek. I'm a nervous mess.

I rang EPU as they told if I fall pg again, I just call straight away as they'll want to make an appointment to scan me at six weeks. Trouble is it's always an answer phone and they're open v limited hours.

Thanks you ladies. Grin , it means a lot xx
