Yes! It was metformin.

Tranquilitybaby · 23/10/2014 22:27

Annie wishing lots of luck, hope you fall naturally very soon x

Mummytogoldie · 24/10/2014 13:23

I am new to mumsnet ttc baby no 3 with a new partner. Can I join? X

trumadison · 24/10/2014 14:11

Hello mummytogoldie...I'm also with new partner...have 4 with previous partner...we are actively ttc...I'm currently 18dpo...with no sign as yet of af...but no positive test...have decided to wait a week...so Monday is test day :0 oh and I'm 45...and accorded to the web I'm high risk if it happens...due to age and fifth pregnancy! Ohhh but what will be will be...currently being very positive :)

Mummytogoldie · 24/10/2014 14:16

What does dpo mean? I fell really quickly with my 2 rd and also have had 2mc and fell within the first month with all of these, but this was with my previous partner. I am anxious as its not happening with my new partner, we desperately want this baby x I am also considered high risk because of 2 c sections, pre eclampsia, gestational diabetes and adhesions , I am to trying to keep positive x

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 24/10/2014 18:26

Hi Mummy. I've not met you on here yet, so Welcome aboard.
DPO means days past ovulation.
I also had pre eclampsia with my d.d resulting in a c/section.
Welcome to Trauma as well.
How's everyone else.
I'm still flood of my bleedin feet.

patch77 · 25/10/2014 13:04

No sign of AF. It's now 6 days late however test is negative. What should I do? Does anyone know whether taking folic acid can delay periods?

P

Tranquilitybaby · 25/10/2014 13:06

No it shouldn't do patch. Are you normal regular?

patch77 · 25/10/2014 13:15

Yep, as clock work. Typical as we have to phone hospital day 1 to try and get a hpg scan

AnnieHoo · 25/10/2014 13:22

Do you know for sure when you and if you ovulated patch? I was having some long periods and it was because I don't ovulate every month even though I get a period.

patch77 · 25/10/2014 20:38

I think I did, I have been very regular since I first started. Could be work stress delaying it maybe.

AnnieHoo · 26/10/2014 12:55

How are you today patch? Could it be a late positive?? I'm not sure what the scan is you're going for next week. Why is it that your period never comes when you want it to and doesn't went you do!!?

I'm just catching up with some of the good news stories and it's great to read your news inshock Grin. This thread really gives me hope that I can have a baby at my age naturally.

There are quite a few of us on our 40's on here now and that makes me feel much better about keeping going Smilex

stubbornstains · 26/10/2014 19:40

Here's another encouraging thread annie- I started it because I was really upset at my friend having just had a loss, so I asked for lots of nice, encouraging stories. And got them!

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/a2216545-Anyone-had-children-in-their-40s-and-never-miscarried?msgid=50273918#50273918

Looks like one of 2 options, patch - either you're having a freak cycle where you ovulated late/ didn't ovulate (I had one in May- my cycles are normally 26ish days, and I suddenly had one that lasted 42 days. Luckily I was charting so knew what was going on), OR you might get a late BFP!

How's tranquility? Are you getting close to your 6 week scan?

AnnieHoo · 26/10/2014 21:01

What a fab thread stubborn. Feel so much better after reading that Smile. You don't hear the good stories so it helps out things into perspective x

Tranquilitybaby · 26/10/2014 22:12

I've got to wait until Thursday Stubborn, don't want to wish the half term away, but the stress is starting to take it's toll. Need to get it over and done with now before the anxiety takes over.

stubbornstains · 26/10/2014 22:33

Waiting....waiting...it's horrible, isn't it?

patch77 · 28/10/2014 18:43

Think it must just be a freeky Halloween cycle! Think I'm going to see AF shortly. At least I can phone hospital for an appointment in the morning!

ProbablyEvil · 29/10/2014 08:35

Hello everyone Smile

10dpo and the tww stress is definitely getting to me, I can't talk to anyone irl as no one apart from my DP (obviously!) knows that we're ttc. No particular physical symptoms apart from feeling really warm - I was like a human radiator overnight, I woke up to go the the loo (not a symptom, just age I think!) and he was as far away from me in the bed as possible as I was too warm to sleep close too! I also don't have the really sore boobs that I usually have at this point in my cycle which is a bit odd.

I've been charting for the last couple of months and I can't decide if it's useful or just making me more stressed. I had a but if a temp dip at 6dpo which I think may have been a secondary estrogen surge, another big dip down below my cover line at 8dpo and my temps have gone much higher for the last two days - way above the rest of my cycle. It's hard not to read too much into it all and just go with the flow. I did test this morning but bfn unsurprisingly. I'll try and get to at least Friday before trying again - unless my temps drop in which case I may try and wait until Sunday when AF is due.

I've suspected hormone issues in my previous cycles so I've taken a few supplements this months to try and help - b complex to improve progesterone in the luteal phase and soy to improve estrogen levels and boost ovulation - FF was definite that I O'd last month although tcoyf disagreed! I had my contraceptive implant out in July and guess it could take a while for my hormone levels to settle. My chart was certainly less all over the place this month so it may have helped?

Very sorry to hear that others are having a hard time - I hope things will look up soon.

Sorry for the long post, I needed to get it out of my head!

ProbablyEvil · 29/10/2014 08:37

*FF WASN'T definite

stubbornstains · 29/10/2014 15:53

Hello probably! Are you new or is this a Hallowe'en name change?

My first pregnancy symptom was hot flushes...at 5 (Hmm), 6 and 8 dpo. You must be feeling quite excited with those temps, because as you know if you've been on the charting websites, that does really look pretty hopeful! . Try not to think about it for a couple of days- very funny, right? Smile

9 weeks 3 for me today, and my booking in appointment with the midwife. So, I officially have old crone status then - consultant led care and an automatic hospital birth (that's what they think!) because of my age. Harrumph.

ProbablyEvil · 29/10/2014 16:06

Yep Stubborn, Halloween!!

I'm in shock actually....I just got a very feint line on a first response within 3 mins....I need a lie down....

stubbornstains · 29/10/2014 16:18

Ha ha HA!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! The run of good luck for the old birds continues! Thanks

(I can't work out who you are when you're not being evil though!)

Yes, have a lie down. And something to eat. Might as well get yourself in training Grin.

ProbablyEvil · 29/10/2014 16:23

I'm normally ProbablyMe. Should possibly change to ProbabyUpTheDuff or something!!

ProbablyEvil · 29/10/2014 16:26

I tested because I developed "a symptom" (duh duh duhhhh,,) I thought my nipples looked more purple than usual so I gave them a squeeze and clear liquid came out. Having not produced milk in over 11 years since the birth of DS4 this came as a bit of a shock!!

stubbornstains · 29/10/2014 16:28

PrettyMuchDefinitelyUptheDuff I should say! Smile
