It's so hard not to obsess! I swore that I would be more relaxed this time but I can feel the urge building already. If we're not PG this month (and I really don't think we are) I know I'll be more organised next month. I don't think I'll use an OPK yet (they're so expensive) but I loved them last time. Only a matter of time...

MoseGirl · 16/04/2004 14:26

I thought about using OPK's but they are so expensive aren't they! I just think we should just BD every day that DH is home and MAXimise our chances that way.

MoseGirl · 16/04/2004 14:38

Futurity I have just been reading through this thread and I think your LMP is the day after mine being 10th April. (I am still getting to grips with all the terminology)
How long is your av. cycle length? It would be good to have a 'cycle mate' to compare notes with!

smellymelly · 16/04/2004 14:50

Actually Mosegirl, don't want to spoil your fun .... But if you BD every day you will actually lower his sperm count. It is best to know roughly when you ovulate.

smellymelly · 16/04/2004 14:51

Oh and I think some people say every other day is plenty....!!

MoseGirl · 16/04/2004 14:55

Sh*t maybe thats where we are going wrong then!

Please explain more.......?

hana · 16/04/2004 14:58

about the okp's........I swore I would never buy them too.....didn't want to be that obsessed....but I bought a test on a Friday, tested as soon as I got home and I had the surge that day. I know that was the lucky day for dh and I (well the next day really!)

smellymelly · 16/04/2004 17:42

Well Mosegirl,

I had a book on choosing the sex of your baby, and it said that Men with low sperm counts tend to father girls, and to lower you sperm count if you want a girl ( only one of the ways - see other thread on choosing ). Ways to lower sperm count were listed as ...wait for it...

Wearing a jockstrap for about a certain amount of time ( the man that is !!!)

Sex every day... well he has to ejaculate (spelling??) every day.

And loads of other things blah blah... all on other thread.

Also other mn's on these ttc threads say that no more than every other day is needed, as we now know that sperm lives for 5 days, and can be up to 7 days in the right environment ie. a fertile vag.!!!!

futurity · 16/04/2004 19:09

MoseGirl: Yes..my LMP was 11th April. My cycle is still all over the place but the last two have been 28/29 days but the OPK tell me I OV around day 20 which is a bit rubbish for getting pregnant! Off to doctors on Monday to discuss this with her.

Kay1 · 16/04/2004 20:04

Oh well done Hana - very best wishes to you and your dp. So lovely to have some good news. Will it be due on Xmas day??

YES!!! Well done!!

Come over to pgcy after m/c if you feel the need for some morale support from me and Bunny etcc....!!!

Kay1 · 18/04/2004 11:39

Am trying not to get my hopes up too much but it's day 27 today - last 3 cycles all 27 days and i ov on day 13 - and no sign of AF at all yet, which is very unusual for me!! Have been feeling PMS like - emotional, irritable etc but no cramping or bloating - which again is unusual.

I am stuck at home working on my portfolio for a course which has to be in on tuesday so am keeping busy and trying not to think about it toooooooooo much....

Tex111 · 18/04/2004 12:06

Good luck, good luck Kay1!!! I can't believe you haven't tested yet. Fingers crossed!

hana · 18/04/2004 12:47

oh go on Kay, you have to test............!!!
Thanks for your suportive messages everyone - still sinking in and I'm not quite ready to leave here yet. Need to decide if we want early scans etc etc, and will try and see doctor this week.
Will check back later Kay... have my fingers crossed for you...
hana

Kay1 · 18/04/2004 15:55

Have decided to test either later tonight or tomorrow if still no AF. Dh was planning to go for sperm test tomorrow - he did one a few weeks ago but has been asked to go back for repeat test(no reason given) so has been thinking there may be a problem. If i am pg, then he won't have to do it again!!!

smellymelly · 18/04/2004 20:14

Kay1 - Any news yet??????????/

Morgan · 18/04/2004 20:26

Congrats Hana - wishing you a healthy pg!!

Kay 1 - i'm with you on the funny symptoms this month - now on day 26 and definitely feel a little different this month - am very irritable but boobs not as heavy as usual and i felt that i ov'd early in my cycle but will wait until next w/end to test if no af by then - i don't keep them in the house so i'm not tempted!

florenceuk · 18/04/2004 21:05

Congrats Hana! Best wishes for happy healthy pregnancy!

jellycat · 18/04/2004 21:09

Kay1 · 19/04/2004 08:01

hana · 19/04/2004 08:18

futurity · 19/04/2004 08:18
