Sorry Kay1
Sorry Azure

Morgan - can't you test now???? I have no patience for my own tests, and I don't like waitng for others either!!!!!

Morgan · 21/04/2004 13:31

Hi Smellymelly - i can't test now as i don't keep them in the house to stop me - i really can't face a bfn after nearly two years of ttc no 2 and a bit of hope this month i'm going to sit it out as long as i can. Sorry !!

MoseGirl · 21/04/2004 15:17

Hi Morgan, have you really been ttc for two years. Are there others on this forum like you? How long did it take for your first baby?

I have my fingers and toes crossed for you

smellymelly · 21/04/2004 15:51

Sorry Morgan - That is a long time... well I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!!

Moomin · 21/04/2004 19:18

Sorry to all those whose horrible AF has arrived (old cow).
I have had such a crap week! My dad came out of hospital on Sunday and is staying with us for a while, which is a bit stressful, god bless him. I woke up on Sunday with food poisoning and was a slave to the loo and dd's potty all day and most of Monday. Miraculously dh and I managed to BD on Sat night and Mon night, it being my fertile period. We woke up today and dd was covered in chickenpox!!!!! I've never had it so had to go to see the GP for a blood test to see if I'm immune. If I'm NOT immune, then for the 1st time in 17 months we'll be keeping our fingers crossed that I'm NOT pg! Bloody typical isn't it?

ermentrude · 21/04/2004 19:29

cd33 and still no AF and no signs whatsoever....realy trying hard nto to let excitment creep in....

smellymelly · 21/04/2004 20:18

Bad luck Moomin !!! What were you doing with DD's potty???

Ooooooh Ermentrude - How long are you cycles normally???

bluestar · 21/04/2004 20:33

Moomin, sorry you are having a lousy time, well done you for managing to bd in all that though.

Mosegirl, I have been ttc #2 for over a year. Did get pg last June but had an early mc. DS was conceived within 3 months but taking much longr this time round. Some of the long term members of this thread have recently graduated so there is hope for us oldies and newies alike!

Morgan & ermentrude, keeping fingers crossed for you.

Morgan · 21/04/2004 20:35

Thanks for the good luck Smellymelly and Mosegirl and no need to apologise Smeellymelly i know lots of people test but it is one thing in this process i try to stay in control of and not do too often!!

Mosegirl - i have indeed been ttc for two years - it took about 9 months with no 1 so it has been pretty stressful this time. I'm sure there are others on here in similiar positions. I have recently had all the tests which so far show nothing is wrong and am due to have a laproscopy in May to confirm my tubes are ok - here's hoping i don't need it and am pg before then.

Moomin · 21/04/2004 21:38

smelly - yes, it did sound a bit strange reading it back! I was on the loo for the morning and then chucking up for the rest of the day. As soon as I was sure it was just confined to being sick, I took dd's potty back to bed with me - nice!!

Morgan - you're in good company here. Both me and (if I remember correctly) Bigbird have lap&dyes coming up soon as well. Good luck for yours. Dh and I have had all the basic 1st round of tests and there seems to be nothing wrong. It only took us 3 months to conceive dd and we've clocked up a fair few now ttc number 2.
Good luck this month to you and ermintrude.

Moomin · 22/04/2004 12:00

God, the only posts I do on this thread lately are moans.. but anyway - I feel lousy today. Have come to work and left dh looking after dd who has chickenpox. I'm CD18 and I feel really sick and tired. Half of me expects to be struck down with adult chicken pox any day now and half of me is thinking it must be an after effct of food poisoning last weekend. I also think it's far too early to be due to pg but I've just been talking to a colleague who said she felt awful from day 1 with both her pgs, well before her AF was due.
I'm sitting in the school library now and a kid is next to me who smells of smoke and I SWEAR it's going to make me throw up soon!
O woe is me! (but don't waste too much sympathy on me - there's not much I can do for a while anyway)

bluestar · 22/04/2004 12:24

Moomin, I often feel sick/tired at different times of the month and have simply given up on reading signals. The only one I will believe now is if I get a positive pg test! I am on CD15, low temps, had some cm yesterday so bd just incase my cycle is getting shorter! Not OPKing this month, just monitoring temps and bding when I feel like it. Not sure I want my cycle to be shorter though as if I didn't get pg, af would be due in the middle of my holiday.

My smiley face didn't work then - I will have to spell it out ..........

I got a line!!

futurity · 22/04/2004 12:33

WOW!!! FANTASTIC! WELL DONE!!

Mum2Ela · 22/04/2004 12:41

smellymelly - I did wonder, but not having read the whole thread I wondered if I was being premature! I have been popping back to the thread every two minutes all day to see if any one else picked up on it!!!

Morgan · 22/04/2004 13:19

Hurrah hurrah Smellymelly - that is great news.

Hi Moomin glad to hear i am not alone re lap & dye. Sorry you feel so awful today. I too have given up reading the signals but on cd 29 today so can't help but hope but as i said before i am not testing yet as i can't stand a bfn. Feeling quite emotional s i have just dropped ds at pre-school for his first session. He went off and played with the trains so happily... i should be doing other things than mning really but i cdn't resist a quick peek.

Tex111 · 22/04/2004 13:52

Congrats smellysmelly!! What wonderful news. This must be a lucky thread!

Morgan, keeping everything crossed for you! It sounds very good with such an unusually long cycle. I admire your ability to not test. I am not blessed with that kind of will power. Good luck!

Moomin, sounds like things have been pretty crazy at your house! When will you find out about your immunity? I'm not surprised you feel lousy right now. I also have a friend who started having symptoms almost the second the sperm met the egg! She even tested about 12 days before her period was due because she felt so ill and wondered if she could've gotten pregnant sooner and not realised. She got a negative, didn't get her period, tested again and got a BFP so you never know. Here's hoping you get your BFP soon!

And speaking of tests, I did one this morning 5 days before AF is even do. Of course, it was negative but I tested at the same stage with DS and got a faint line so I'm sure we're not PG this month. Oh well, first month trying so not surprised.

hana · 22/04/2004 13:54

Hey smelly!!! Fantastice news!I'm so pleased for you!!

love hana

hoping that some more of you get that line very soon too.......

bluestar · 22/04/2004 13:58

CONGRATULATIONS SMELLYMELLY!!!!!!!!!
I also wondered about the smiley but like getting pg, got there in the end!!!!!!!!
Best of luck for everything - what will be your due date?

Big congratulations to you and dp xx

Morgan · 22/04/2004 14:36

Thanks Tex111 - i've got everything crossed too !! Going shopping this pm so just need to avoid those pg tests....

BeckiF · 22/04/2004 14:51

Just a quick (and desperate!!) question. What does the 'metally' taste in your mouth actaully taste like? I've had the sort of taste in my mouth that you get if you chew orange or lemon peel by mistake, or when you've eaten too many fruit gums, a kind of citrusy type of taste at the back of my mouth???? Any help?!

bluestar · 22/04/2004 15:42

Not much help but like metal! I didn't get it with ds1, got it with mc baby and sometimes get it just before af. Have you ever temped? I find that the end of the thermometer can give a similar aftertaste. Is af due soon? Is it a 'hypothetical' I could be pg qustion?

OP posts:
BeckiF · 22/04/2004 15:52

Hi Bluestar - I have PCOS and am on day 193, so I might be but it's highly unlikely. It's just strange and I remember that it can be a sign of pg, that's all. Ah well! I'll do a stick when I get home.
