Well that's it. After 13 years of being on the pill I am now not. For various reasons I didn't come off a few months ago to allow my cycle to get back to "normal" (who knows what that is when I was on the pill twice as long as I had periods naturally) so I have no idea how long it'll take me to ovulate. Anyone else in the same boat? Having spent my whole adult life assuming I'd get pregnant just by looking at a boy without BC I am now realising it might actually take months or even years to conceive. Plus I'm not talking about this with friends; they either got pregnant vv quickly or are no where near that stage. So, would be great to hear from a few of you in the same boat...

Thank you. Xx

Ainat that sounds very similar to us, having to wait for a couple of years before TTC. In many ways now is still not ideal but if we waited for the perfect time it would never happen and we're in a much better place now than we were.

Are you worried/stressed about stuff, Ainat, or do you think it's hormonal? If it is hormonal at least you know they are doing something, which has to be positive!

Look after yourself Emily If you're feeling rotten and not getting better (especially if you are fainting too) a visit to the doctor might be a good idea.

My concentration at work was rubbish today... TTC is pretty much all I can think about at the moment Blush it's new and exciting, but nerve wracking and frustrating. I feel like I'm just counting days at the moment.

Shellbell0403 · 23/09/2014 20:22

Looks as though my AF is eventually about to turn up!! Fingers crossed so I can get this out the way and focus on trying again next month!!

Aww I hope this is a BFP for u!! Fingers and toes crossed for u!! You can get tests that u can take a day before ur period is due etc...

Sending love and positive thoughts to everyone Smile xx

Emilyjane11 · 23/09/2014 20:53

Thanks proof i booked an appointment straight away. I've been tracking my cervix and it's still high soft and open and that shouldn't be the case as to where im up to in my cycle im hoping that's good news but you never know. It's all im thjnking about too xx

Ainat266 · 23/09/2014 21:04

Emily, I really hope a bfp is coming your way. Please look after yourself and get yourself checked out if things don't start getting better in the next day or two.

Theproof, I'm hoping it's all hormonal. its not that far in to the new school year, always a bit stressful, but I don't feel crazily stressed out by it. even if it's not pregnancy related I really hope that it's a sign my body is having a bit of a kick start after coming off the pill.

This evening - well, ever since some stupid driver on the M4 decided to suddenly go from 50 to 0 because he wanted to come off at a junction last minute when there was standstill traffic on the slip road - I've been in such a foul mood. normally when there are bad drivers on the road in get annoyed at them for about 30 seconds and then get on with my life. After that tonight everything is making me mad. DH has annoyed me because he's tired and his legs ache. what a stupid reason to be annoyed at him. especially as this is because he went to the gym. I should be proud of him because he's sticking to the 'use both trying to get fitter and healthier' goal we set ourselves. I went swimming and got (in my head anyway) really mad at another swimmer that was splashing a bit as he swam. I got annoyed because a friend didn't text me back straight away. It's ridiculous. I'm normally a pretty easy going person.

sorry. rant over. X

I hope we'll get some good news in this thread soon. X

Hi everyone may I join? I'm 28 and We're ttc #1, having got married earlier this year. I came off BC on our honeymoon in May, was about 45days until AF showed up. Have been DTD since then but AF turned up today. Can't help but feel disappointed and worried it's not going to be as easy as it seems to be for others I know who are expecting babies. I don't want to put DH off the whole idea by becoming obsessed though.

Ainat266 · 24/09/2014 19:07

Okay, so I got my tests in ordered online today.. at least 5 days too early to test. did one anyway (as you do) when I got home from work. There was possibly the faintest ever line. I don't know if I'm imagining it because I so want it to be true... I think I am imagining it. I guess I'll have to try again in a day or two..

Emilyjane11 · 24/09/2014 19:24

Post a pic ainat? Im feeling very sick again today and very emotional had a rubbish day at work. Tested this morning and was neg, I just have a feeling that this isn't right. But that might be because I want it so much. It's 5 days till I can test too. Fingers crossed for you xx

Cleo1161 · 24/09/2014 19:25

Hi. Im new here, so hope it's okay to jump in mid thread! I'm 31 and we're TTC#1. I only came off my BC a couple of weeks ago and had AF and now hopefully my body is getting back into the swing of things. Had horrible symptoms, nausea, tiredness and pretty evil mood swings! Feeling better now, so hopefully we can crack on with TTC!! Like others, we havent told anyone (other than my Mum) as they all have babies and I don't fancy the constant questions, especially as I'm pretty impatient and know I'll be disappointed when it doesn't happen straight away! Hopefully there will be good news for you all soon. I hope it's still a BFP for you Ainat266 in a few days time.

ThenewMrsB82 · 24/09/2014 20:56

Well.. I just poas waited a couple of minutes but only one link line appeared. I put the sick on the top of the bin and didn't think anything more until just now when I looked and there are TWO PINK lines!!!

II was just about to call Mr B in excitement when I realised I am so exhausted that I had just weed on an ovulation stick instead of a pregnancy stick by mistake!!! Gutted!

Emilyjane11 · 24/09/2014 21:17

Oh no mrsb!!! What you like!! Are you late on?

This maybe too much info but I am due on in a week but my cervix is still high, open and soft and my cm is watery. This shouldnt be the case at this point in my cycle right? Im so hoping that's a good sign x

kezaroo · 24/09/2014 21:24

This is going to probably sound like the most ridiculous question ever..... But how do you test your cervix? And how is it um, supposed to be (what does it mean)

Sorry - newbie to all this!

ThenewMrsB82 · 24/09/2014 21:43

No I'm due any day now but I've got some early pregnancy test sticks.. I'm just impatient..
I'm sorry I don't know anything about cervix's.. I can't even find mine!

Ainat266 · 24/09/2014 21:55

can you see what I mean? The pic I took on my phone was about 7 8 minutes after doing the test, but I don't think it's too clear... I'm still convinced I'm trying to convince myself there is something there...

I don't know how to know if your cervix is high or anything like that...

Shellbell0403 · 24/09/2014 22:49

Well ladies.... First AF since coming off the pill has official arrived Smile can now focus focus focus on the next planning time ??

Emilyjane11 · 25/09/2014 06:47

Yeah I know what you mean id do another in a few days and see. It's hard to see on those tests. Can you get an early response and do that? Xxx

KnitFastDieWarm · 25/09/2014 11:50

Hi all, can I join in?

Me 27, DH 29, married 18 months, came off pill two months ago and are currently thinking of starting TTC in earnest around Christmas (as in, tracking things). So far I've had two periods which have been on a 26 day cycle like clockwork, which I'm hoping is a good sign!

Having been on the pill for a decade I'd forgotten just how much periods HURT! :( poor DH has never known me when I've not been on BC and was appalled at how much pain I was in, bless him.

I've also forgotten what hormones feel like - yesterday I nearly bit DH's head off because I couldn't move a shelf away from the wall and he offered to help me, the bastard Blush I was convinced that we were headed for divorce then I checked the calendar and lo and behold, I'm bang on my predicted ovulation date....

Good luck everyone! Can't wait to see those first BFPs...

Ainat266 · 25/09/2014 12:09

I did another this morning, I would say that was definitely negative. :-( no hint of a red line. I'll try again in a few days but not feeling too hopeful.

glad to hear AF has arrived Shell. means you can get on with planning next month.

kezaroo · 25/09/2014 12:20

Well af has still not arrived for me yet.

So frustrating!!!

TheProofIsInThePudding · 25/09/2014 16:55

kerazoo have you been TTC this month or just waiting for a proper period after coming off the pill?

That's a shame Ainat

Not much to report here. We're DTD EOD, but I don't expect to ovulate for at least another week, so no symptoms of any kind to spot yet!

I've been wondering about testing. Are you going to wait until you are actually late or are you going to test the day AF is due? (... or even before?!) And if you are waiting until you are late, how late is late? One day? Two? Three?

My cycles have varied between 29 and 35 days over the past few months. The app on my phone is averaging it out at 32 days. I'm very tempted to just do a test on day 32 (if AF hasn't arrived by that point). I don't know how I would deal with a BFN - would that be worse than getting AF? I also don't want to spend a fortune on tests!

Emilyjane11 · 25/09/2014 17:52

Im sorry ainat. Try again though. I am 4 days off my period. Im having on and off crampingd ALOT of cm. going crazy. Just did a test which is neg but I'll wait and see. Xxx

kezaroo · 25/09/2014 18:22

Theproof - we have been ttc this month. Came off 22/8 and ever since

  • few day bleed a week or so after and sore nips!
  • Think ovulation on 13th still sore nips!
  • Brown cm on tissue last week (latter end) - still sore nips!
  • few cramps (thought af was going to start) earlier this week and nips no longer sore

I am peeing a lot (but I am drinking a lot), exercising and don't seem to be shifting weight (normally it drops off when I exercise). I am shattered today too. Keep getting mild cramps in my side (well, sort of feels like side of stomach). Was on the phone to a customer earlier and felt really sick -only lasted 2 minutes or so and nothing since.

Pretty sure af due this week (if I did ov, which I am sure I did). No signs off af coming now but don't want to take a test and see a negative. But I want to take one.... Grr!

Right now I hate my body - inside and out!!

scienceteachergeek · 25/09/2014 18:42

The proof, me too, cycles between 24 and 32 days. My phone has averaged it to 29 days but that doesn't help does it? Just because my phone says I'll ovulate on day 17 doesn't mean I will!

Some of those blood tests have come back. The results say I'm not ovulating, or didn't last month. It's all very upsetting. I've been trying to convince the doc that on months I get EWCM I must be ovulating because AF always arrives exactly 14 days later. I just haven't had any CM at all for 2months.

Fingers crossed for you though Emily. Ainat I could definitely see a second line on your stick. ThenewMrs*...try pissing on the correct stick next time xxx

scienceteachergeek · 25/09/2014 18:43
Wink
Ainat266 · 25/09/2014 18:44

Thanks Emily - Sorry to hear about your neg test too. :(

Why is it I spent the past 10 years trying to NOT conceive. Now that I want to it's pretty much all I can think about!
