The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 12+ months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot and definitely no mention of baby dust or baby dancing).
Those not abiding by the rules may be escorted from the premises.

aw bushy do be kind to yourself. I totally get that going back to work might be hard. Does anyone know about your situation so that they can have your back when things get tough at all?

Everyone does 'ujayi' breath at my yoga studio. I find it helps to get into a good rhythm. Having said that there weren't yoga tw@ts where I am, there are a couple of girls who are starting to get on my tits a little bit. They must be quite new, as I haven't seen them before, but were adamant about their favourite spots (at the front) and were banging on about their amazing yoga mats, that cost over 100 quid, and talking unecessarily loudly! grrrr.

nolly your description of being stuck in a sad story for two is just spot on. I'm sure you'll come out the other side closer than ever though. You're combining a lot of stressful things, especially moving house and city, dealing with inlaws and all on top of ttc so the odd argument is perfectly normal!

Some babies do smell a bit grotty don't they! It's the sour milk ones that I find yucky. My sister's middle child was very sicky and he did not smell all that lovely!

gnomie you should definitely go to the doctors after 18 months. Have you been at all to the GP yet? OMFG to being on the recieving end of those comments! You did well not to reply with something very rude back!

I have spent most of the day in a rage at incompetent people at work. As the card I got for my birthday said: I wake up every day with a great attitude. Then idiots happen. Good yoga class sorted me out, even though new class know-it-alls were saying that you really needed to do 5 classes a week to make a difference. Oh, F** off.

Only one more day to get to, then Friday off and a 4 day weekend!

How is everyone else?

lumen · 21/08/2014 15:43

As usual I step away from this thread from a day or two and then have loads to catch up on! It is fab to see so many berries on here supporting each other, but it means this is going to be a long post, sorry!

tiger I am suitably impressed with your yoga, loving all the yoga tw@t comments, not sure you should be getting stressed with silly girls in class though, doesnt that counteract the distressing yoga thing?

bushy I hope you are being kind to yourself, you sound like all the other teachers I know in RL, all hard on yourselves but doing a fab job. Your bulb planting sounds lovely and has reminded me that I need to get on an put some spring bulbs in myself. They are my fav type of flowers as they don't require any looking after once you put the bulbs in the ground.

grace grrrr to GMIL, very insensitive, they think once they get to a certain age they can say whatever they want and they don't think that it might upset us. Sorry to hear about your mum, hope all goes ok with her. You should go to your GP, if you are concerned tell them you have been trying for 2 years, they have no idea.

nolly hope living with the in-laws is going ok. Not sure I have ever smelled any ham babies but my german niece and nephew used to smell unpleasant (chloe am sure your german baby will smell of berries as per bushys comment). Hope things have settled down a bit on the arguing front, it is only natural. You hit the nail on the head saying it is a sad story, that's very much how I feel at the moment. Any news on the lap?

beaky sorry to hear the cysts have not gone, I think I will dust off the pom-poms to help gill with the 'cysts be gone' routine. When do you have to start taking the pill?

gill glad to hear you are down regged, how are you getting on with the tablets? Have you started them yet? I will get on the 'thick uterus lining' dance this weekend. Ah the bum bullets, something else to look forward to in a few months. How's the cross stitch going? I started one ages ago but lost interest quite early on, it is sitting in a drawer somewhere with my attempts as learning to knit and learning to crochet!

wild did you get a home vit D test? My new acu lady seems to be obsessed with me getting enough, she mentioned it both times I have seen her so far.

hb am jealous of your baby cuddles, good to hear you are feeling positive. How are you getting on with the CoQ10? I think I have more energy since starting it. I take the full preconception vitamin rather than just folic acid in order to ensure levels of everything else are ok. Seems a cheaper option and leads to less rattling!

chloe glad to hear the wedding went well, how far are you now? Have you moved over to the chopper yet?

pixie I had some comments yesterday that my hair looked nice and it made me chuckle because all I had done was blow dry it (upside down of course) rather than letting it dry in its usual flyaway manner. My hairdresser gives me that look when I tell her I only dry it every now and again, she doesn't even bother mentioning sectioning it off to dry it.

happy hope the wedding went well and you and your DH are enjoying your honeymoon, not long until starting your IVF in Sept, exciting.

lady how is the two week holiday, hope you are enjoying it?

kitten how are you doing?

rain your cheese and wine torch night made me jealous, sounded fab. Hope you enjoyed your 50s evening, love The Goonies!

smidge how are you feeling now? Did you ring the FC back? Hope the snow holiday was fun and you made a little FUFC snow baby.

pip and idea when you are starting your IVF cycle?

seren when are you due to start your next cycle?

jellie how is Cyril the cyst? Are you still on the progynova or have your moved on to the cyclogest?

kuma how is the moonstone wearing going?

rosie are you still around?

feather, win and rp hope all is going well with your growing beans.

AFM, I have had 2 acu sessions which are enjoyable. Going to be having weekly sessions from now until end of IVF. Am in theory in shag week but my DH is working nights so we have seen each other for a total of about 10 mins any day this week, so no FUCF baby here. Will be phoning to start next IVF cycle when AF turns up in 2 weeks. But first is our holiday so currently all attention is on that.

happylass · 21/08/2014 17:11

Just a quick check in from Santorini to say hi. Thinking of you Gil and anyone else who's IVFing at the moment. Hope you're all doing ok. Sorry I can't check back on my phone - the whole look of the site has changed too Confused
Thanks for all the well wishes. Wedding was amazing - an absolutely perfect day. Went so quickly and so sad it's all over. Nice to have a bit of time to chill now though. Santorini is beautiful. Take care all - I'll catch up again soon.
Ps. Why?? >>>> Tardis

Catching up on the thread has made me giggle with nolly's hammy babies and grace's shrivelled uterus. WTF!? Sorry to hear about your mum grace, hope the op goes well.

That new curriculum sounds like a bit of a nightmare bushy, can imagine how stressful it must be at the start of a new year especially.

You're all making me feel very lazy with all this yoga talk! Came home from work determined to do my 30DS and then decided to come on MN instead. tiger With a 100 quid yoga mat you simply have to go 5 times a week to get the cost per wear down!

happy Congrats on your marriage, am glad you had a great day. Enjoy Santorini.

lumen and beaky Am doing well thanks for asking, 9w+3. Am feeling like a bit of a fraud TBH as I don't really have any symptoms apart from being a bit tired and feeling a little bit sick. I know I should be grateful but it makes me worry that something is wrong. Had an appt with the midwife this week and she was lovely (well, she said I have perfect legs when checking for varicose veins and that I don't look 35 Grin!) Have got an appt with the dr on Wednesday, FX all is OK and I've not imagined the whole thing.

lumen Exciting times ahead - holiday and next round! Is it St Lucia you're off to? I am beyond jealous!

WildflowerMarmalade · 21/08/2014 18:56

nolly ! Babies who smell of ham! Yuk. That makes me feel a bit sick. Can't say I've ever met one of those, personally.

tiger and bushy What on earth is this 'ujayi' breathing in yoga. i've never heard of that. Sometimes there are people who are doing a sort of controlled whooshing type breathing, is that it? I assumed they were just weird.

bushy you have inspired me to go and buy some Spring bulbs. I got snowdrops, crocuses and tulips and I will get some daffodils too. I love the way daffodils come out so early and they are so yellow and bright and hopeful after the bare winter. We had them at our wedding and they really symbolise new beginnings and hope to me. If they come up then they can be a tiny tribute to your little bean too.

Also bushy about the mindfulness and unwanted thoughts, the gurus in my meditation class say that when you notice troublesome thoughts going round in your head to just bring your focus back to you body. Focus on your feet on the ground, or your bottom on the seat, or find the calm, centred place inside your chest or abdomen. Bring yourself back to your body to interrupt the mind's anxious narrative. I thought I would pass that on to you, hope it helps.

nolly your description of being stuck in a sad story for two is brilliant. i'm sorry you are going through it though. Can you get away for the Bank holiday? And you and beaky are right too about the activities which force your mind to concentrate on something else being absolute lifesavers sometimes.

Gnomie get down to the GP pronto, and yes, tell them you've been trying for at least two years. I'm sure the NHS move very slowly on infertility stuff because that way some people will just fall pregnant during the wait and save the health service some money. Get the wheels turning as soon as you can.

lumen I did not get the vitamin D home test kit. I've splashed out quite a bit on vitamins and TTC books recently and I just felt that I should reign myself in on the spending. It really does all add up very quickly. IVF costs lots but the money you spend on the way to it could probably cover half of a cycle! My acu lady is also pretty keen on the dangers of being bit D deficient though - maybe I should just test to be sure...

Gil how have you been feeling on the downreg? I'm excited for you - will transfer day be the week after next?

WildflowerMarmalade · 21/08/2014 18:57

Aagh - and happy so pleased that you had a lovely wedding day. Enjoy the honeymoon.

lumen · 22/08/2014 10:37

Just ordered some omega 3 support that my acu lady recommended, more rattling coming from here soon. This ttc malarkey is costing a fortune, better get a good baby/child at the end of this Wink

nolly3 · 22/08/2014 12:09

Hi happy! glad you had a nice day, have a great honeymoon.

did anyone hear the surrogacy documentary on R4 last night? So sad.

You're right, lumen, it's one of the advanced skills of the yogi to block out the tw*ts, for whom yoga is a magnet to showing off. Like the bloke who always just has to hold the poses for another few seconds longer than everyone else - just to make the point. Still, blocking out these douchebags all helps to build inner peace, and a sense of moral superiority. Glad you're enjoying the acu. I miss it.

made it up with OH - turns out that he'd decided we shoudl wait on the househunting front but only explained that to me using his inside voice. So now we know! he's working over the weekend but that's OK, am planning to drink rioja and watch harry potter. hunger games woudl be better but massively put off J-Law now she's allegedly dating chris martin, what is that about!!

gil how's the downregging going?

gnome i echo what the others said abotu getting to gp pronto. I lied at my original appointment and said we'd be trying longer than we had, glad I did as that was now over a year ago. it's a slow process.

rain how's the workload?

hi everyone else! sorry, too poor a memory to name check everyone...!

KittenOfWoe · 22/08/2014 23:02

Hey peeps I'm still lurking! Hope you're all good? I need to re-read and get up to speed on you all.
At the folk festival in Shrewsbury at the mo, watching my drunk husby and some of his mates hurtling about the dancefloor whilst I'm sober as a judge and sitting it all out!
Six weeks tomorrow so sorely early days yet still. Had my booking in session with the midwife yday, so strange...... Oh and in related news, I just threw up in my mouth, yay!

beakybeak · 22/08/2014 23:18

Hi berries, been wiped out with a sickness bug so not been keeping up. Hope everyone is ok!

Grace definitely get to the GP, there's no point in waiting and the NHS system takes forever so best to get it underway sooner rather than later. I hope your mum is ok after her op too.

Tiger I totally get the incompetent colleagues thing! Sometimes I want to yell "use your brain"! Hope you're enjoying your long weekend off so far!

Lumen I will return the pom pom dance favour for you and I'll join you in the thick uterus lining dance for Gill! How long til your holiday Lumen? I started the pill straight after the scan and will go in at the start of next AF so fx for then. I've only been at the top of the waiting list since march!

Happy your honeymoon sounds amazing and not long til IVF now too!

chloe time is flying by! Glad all is going well.

Wild I love the tips there, I will definitely try those next time too. I don't know how much the vit d tests are but the tablets are quite cheap so you could take extra, I don't think they cause any harm. Zita West is a big advocate if you've read any of her stuff.

I didn't hear that doc nolly I try to avoid everything ttc related these days! I can't believe you didn't hear your ohs inside voice! Tut tut Grin they do totally think we should be mind readers eh. Rioja and HP will be lush! Don't you like Chris Martin? I love him!

Rain how are you? Are you on holidays yet?

Bushy how are you doing?

We had a bit of crisp news this week, my dh is getting made redundant (well his contract ends) which is really shit financially and stress wise. We haven't discussed it in detail but not sure how it will affect ttc. Confused

How's everyone else?

beakybeak · 22/08/2014 23:19

Oh kitten! Poor you! 6 weeks hey, it'll be your 12 week scan before you know it Smile

KittenOfWoe · 22/08/2014 23:48

Okay I'm freaking out. Just went for a pee and I'm bleeding. Called nhs direct and am now sat in my tent, waiting for an out of hours doctor to call me back.

beakybeak · 22/08/2014 23:51

Oh Kitten all fingers crossed that it's nothing and everything is fine.

greatbigbushybeard · 23/08/2014 00:14

kitten bleeding in early pregnancy is really common. I exp it too. Started it as spotting and browny red. I know, in the end, it didn't end well for me but in between that we still got past the spotting& bleed to see a heartbeat. I googled like crazy when it happened to me and lots of people said same thing- that it's really common, nothing to worry unless bright red and painful, also lots of ladies that spotted ( some all way through their pregnancy) went on to gave healthy babies. Hopefully it's just little kitty kneading your uterus!! I would just take it easy, not do anything too strenuous. Maybe lie down to see if that helps too.

ladybunnikins · 23/08/2014 05:11

Just popping in to echo what Bushy said and I hope you're OK this morning Kitten.
Good luck to all the berries starting IVF/IUI, Gill you must be on the oestrogen tablets soon? Sending womb thickening thoughts!
Beaky I'm sorry to hear about your DH, I hope he finds something else soon.

GnomieGrace · 23/08/2014 08:22

Kitten, fingers crossed everything's ok!

KittenOfWoe · 23/08/2014 08:41

Thanks bushy, I hope it's okay.
The blood was bright red, not brown, which is scary. The doctor said it's probably ok seeing as I don't have pain, but to monitor it for 24 hours and get lots of rest, and to phone again if it doesn't stop or gets worse...

nolly3 · 23/08/2014 09:09

fx for you kitten, hope you feel reassured

WildflowerMarmalade · 23/08/2014 09:10

Hope you are ok kitten. It must be very worrying.

beaky sorry to hear about your husband's job. These things are sent to try us. When you say it could affect TTC, are you thinking about the cost of fertility treatment or the cost of a baby?

WildflowerMarmalade · 23/08/2014 09:12

Ooh, cross post with you there kitten - glad that things sound fairly positive. Take it easy.

KittenOfWoe · 23/08/2014 09:21

Freaking out a bit less now - sorry for the tmi but I put a pad on last night and there's only a tiny bit of blood on it, and a tiny smudge of old blood when I went to the loo this morning. So it seems to have been only a short bit of fresh red blood, hopefully just a touch of spotting. My life, did that scare me last night! Jeeeeez..... Confused

tigerdog · 23/08/2014 15:59

Aw kitten must have been scary but from the experience of other ladies on here, spotting seems common and does not necessarily mean bad news. Great timing though, being in a tent! Take it easy the rest of the weekend.

beaky honey sorry to hear about your dh. I hope he finds something else soon and it doesn't cause you too much undue stress. Get better soon too, nasty old bug!

Yep it's the darth vader (sp?) breathing wild. If everyone else is doing it then you have to join in to block them out! The new yoga tw@ts were there today, at the front, full makeup and talking loudly!

tigerdog · 23/08/2014 16:02

...And to take my kind off ttc I am looking after another fur baby. The kennels are so full of unwanted greyhounds that we are having one to make space over the bank holiday. He is a doll Smile

The Elderberry Pavlovas: Hanging up our fertility crystals, relaying the Yellow Brick Road and chasing that chopper. We want our BFPs and we want them now! (Thread 22)
nolly3 · 23/08/2014 16:38

hope you're ok, beaky. is it a dead cert about yr dh?

make up? at yoga? pah.

TheRainDrops · 23/08/2014 19:25

Hello berries! I'm currently on hols in the Channel Islands so haven't been on MN much - masses to catc up on when we get back. Did just want to say hang in there to kitten and also to beaky - sorry about DHs job. Hopefully he'll get something else sorted before long.
I'm in a quandary ttc wise - CD8 here, so still early but would usually have started by now BUT we're staying with my DA and DU and their spare bed is the squeakiest known to mankind and the floor is cold tile! Not sure what to do! Could really do with something like RPs baster right now Grin
