Hello,

Was just wondering whether anybody has had a similar experience?

When trying for first child got pregnant the first month, however that ended in MC. Luckily I got pregnant again with DD after first month of trying again.

DD is now three, we would have started TTC sooner but I went back I Uni and I'm due to finish in November.

We have been trying for 5 months and no luck, worried that I've left it too late as I'm now 37.

Sad

Hello everyone

So sorry to hear about your MC Blink and how long you've been going through this already Bobsy

Well AF in full flow so I'm definitely out this month, hopefully it will be a lucky one for everyone else Smile

AF started last month while we were on holiday, so it was actually good timing as it meant I could go on rides with DS and have a beer or wine in the evenings without moping. Definitely good to have a BFN backup Grin

I've had a a scan & some tests & everything is fine, I've to go back in 3 months if still no joy (that was about a month ago now), so I'll give it another 2 cycles & go back if I've still not got pregnant. I've just started using my OPK with hormone indicator, should tell me my fertile days & my peak fertile days. Nothing this morning but it was probably a bit early. My fertility app thinks I'll ovulate on Friday but my cycles are not exactly same each month.

It's positive the test are all fine Bobsy. I'm using the Clear Blue Fertility Monitor at the moment. It was brilliant when trying for no.1 but no luck with so far this time around. I think I'm going to try and ignore it this time and dtd every other night during the cycle.

Yeh I was very relieved that they were all fine tattyteddy. I looked at the fertility monitor but just a bit pricey for me.

They say DTD every other day don't they even over your fertile days, I think that's what we'll do this time. Tbh OH has very low sex drive (i know prob TMI) so we only ever DTD at the right time, I sometime think if we were regularly DTD then I would have got pg much sooner but at least with the OPK's we know when I'm ovulating.

Hello everyone. I am currently trying to conceive no. 2 and have been for 3 cycles now. DD1 who is now 21 months was a welcoe 'surprise' and I was even taking the pill (although I did slip up) so I am flummoxed by timing and dates and ovulation etc. So far I haven't had any luck, and have also had irregular length cycles so just starting to worry a little although I know this is futile. I am only 28 so I have plenty of time on my side but I naively assumed that it would be easy! wishing bfps for everyone.

Hello slightly and welcome to the thread. Have you been tracking how long your cycles are on average?

Bobsy, I think it can be hard work doing the deed very regularly, especially when you've been trying for a while and your toddler knackers you out! I hope the opks help.

Let's hope the next couple months and we get out BFP! Xx

Hi everyone,
I have been trying for baby number two since may last year. After having the depo I sometimes feel like I'm never going to be able to have another baby. It seems strange how I managed to fall pregnant on celest with my DD and now that me and DH are actively trying and nothing is happening.

Hi drop, sorry to hear you're struggling too. Are you keeping am eye on your cycle or using opk? X

It's harder DTD at a set time as well tattyteddy think it puts him off a bit! And yes having a demanding little one is very tiring though love her to bits.

I got my first flashing smiley face on my OPK this morning so today I'm at High Fertility. I was quite surprised as its only second day of testing but must be having a shorter cycle this time. It's first time I've used the OPK with dual hormone indicator, got to carry on testing until I get Peak Fertility which I should imagine will be Wednesday.

Yeh definitely hope we get our BFP's soon. Xx

I don't really know much about acupuncture but I might look in to it. I've been thinking about reflexology too.

I know how you feel BitchTits, we've been trying since January last year, got pg without trying with DD, now everyone I know who's had a baby round same time as I had DD or after has gone on to have/get pg with #2 or even #3

Hi just to say I'm so glad I found this thread. We've been ttc#2 for 18 months now and finally got our fertility clinic referral this month. Conceived DD within 3 months the first time and just don't understand why it's not happening for us this time.

Every month I get my hopes up only for them to be crashed when AF arrives! Our DD is 3 now so not sure how much longer to keep trying. I'm 37 so guessing there is an age factor too now.

I'm finding it hard now seeing my friends all having #2 and in some cases their first is younger than my DD. Also seeing some announcing pregnancies with their third too! Trying to be positive but it is hard some days!

Hello cake, welcome to the thread.

I know what you all mean, lots of people I know have had their second DC already. As I said before my dd keeps asking when she will have a baby sister or brother!

I'm in virtually same position as you CakeInMyFace trying for 19 months now for second baby & I'm 38 & DD is almost 4. Everyone who I know who had a baby around same time as me or later on have had second or are pregnant with second & some with third baby.

I find it hard 2 of my friends are pg with second and their first babies are much younger than my DD. I try to remain positive but not every day I can.

I conceived without trying with DD.

Hi Tatty, my story is very similar to yours: conceived DS (3 years old) without realising. Conceived a second time first month of trying but sadly this ended in miscarriage. Currently on fifth cycle of trying since the mc but have had no success. Starting to feel really down about it :( Am nearing the end of the horrible 2ww so will find out in a few days if I'm still on this roller coaster. This month I've tried acupuncture so I hope this makes a difference!

Hi everyone. Nice to talk to people in a similar position.

Sorry to hear about those of you who've had miscarriages.

Its probably unfair of me to say I'm struggling to conceive number 2,we started in January so its about cycle 7. Compared to other people its not much, I know lots of people have been trying far longer, but since it took 3 months of trying to make ds, I suppose I assumed it would be quick again. Its still disheartening when you want something badly.

Didn't start trying till DS was 15months because I didn't want less than 2 years gap between kids, I really thought I'd get pregnant straight away.

Started using OPKs last month, and I as well as ovulating later than I thought, last month I had a shorter cycle than usual, meaning my luteal phase was only 8 days. Its that unpredictability that's annoying.

Getting very fed up with lots of people asking when I'm having another baby.

On the two week wait now. AF/BFP due around 16th August.

Hi all,

Cow biscuits, know how you feel, am in the same boat, I'm in the 2ww at the moment too but don't think it's this month either, don't know why but just a feeling! I read a great response to being asked ALL the time when you are having another baby, not sure I could use it but made me laugh out loud, when someone asks just tell them your vagina is still broken from last time! Honestly, I wish I had the balls to say that as can you imagine their faces.....guaranteed you wouldn't be asked again, ha ha!

X

Hello everyone,

As previous posts have said I was originally really optimistic each months, but no I usually know it's gonna be a bfn. Newbie you made me laugh but I won't be able to use your saying because I had an emcs!

I think we do need to stay positive and just hang on in there xx

Good for you tattyteddy I signed up ages ago but I've not heard anything from them.

I'm currently using CB OPK with dual hormone indicator, but I prefer the normal CB OPK.

I can post some good news on this thread.

I was pregnant with DD within 3 months or so of trying. We weren't even trying very hard. We just stopped using contraception. When I booked in at the midwife I didn't even know the date of my last period as I wasn't tracking it. I ended up out by 2 weeks and missed the nuchal measurement window for the 12 week scan. I was measuring 14+ weeks. I was 36 when DD was born.

I am now 34 weeks pregnant with my second. But it took me over 18mo and 2 MCs to get to my current pregnancy. I was taking my temp every morning to map my cycle. I used the CBFM at one point for months until I find it too expensive to continue. (I found it confirms the same ovulation date as the thermometer anyway). It was a roller coaster ride every month waiting for AF. Thinking if I have left it too late, becoming infertile with bad eggs, wondering if I should just give up. Especially the giving up. I originally gave myself a time frame of trying for one year. Then it got pushed back and back as I just can't give up. I'm 39 and I am due a month before I turn 40.

I have seen my GP twice over this. But they can't refer me until I have actively tried for a year. And because of the miscarriages, I never was over a year without getting pregnant. They would only refer for recurrent miscarriages after 3 in a row.

5 months is not very long. I remember reading some stats on the NHS site. It says 80% will conceive within 1 year and 90% within 2. So you are still in your early days of trying. Keep positive!

Oh congratulations OneLittleToddleTerror I keep thinking about giving up & keep saying after so long I will but can't quite do it. I've just turned 38 we're on 19th cycle, DD is nearly 4 & I was 34 when I had her.

Due to ovulate any day so really hoping this is my month & keeping positive.
