The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

You can get a glob of EWCM before AF. I've read an awful lot about that. In your position I think I would just test as otherwise you work yourself up with every symptom and it's actually easier to see a BFN/BFP.

Good luck, FX xx

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 08/08/2014 12:35

Thanks Sebs I've had the EWCM for 3 days now which is weird. I'm only 6DPO today so can't test just yet, but believe me as soon as I possibly can I will!

Monten · 08/08/2014 12:43

You’re right seb it is so easy to completely work yourself up. I was convinced I was pregnant last month, completely convinced. I guess the hormones that control AF and pregnancy are the same so it’s really easy to confuse the two. I’ve driven myself mad on loads of occasions.

Sorry af arrived greysar. What a cow.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow bitchpeas!! Let us know!

No experience with Clomid I’m afraid Dulcet. Are you on it?

sebsmummy1 · 08/08/2014 13:02

Sorry oneday, didn't realise you were so early.

For me, and I can only speak from personal experience, EWCM in the 2ww is not a good sign. I have read other sites where women get very excited about it, yellow tinged and all and there are lots of BFPs at the end. For me it's always been AF at the end. The one exception was lots of bloody EWCM on 10 dpo which was a failed implantation that lead to a two cycle fuck up and hcg numbers that never topped 200. So it can mean implantation, but when it did for me it was one wipe as opposed to days of it.

Best way to ensure you ovulated is to temp. You don't have to temp all month, if you start after AF has gone and stop three days after OV it's enough. Just so you can see that distinct temp rise of a Progesterone kicking in. It's also common to get EWCM around 3/4dpo and it's called a secondary oestrogen rise. Progesterone should then kick back in again and it should go.

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 08/08/2014 13:26

Thanks again seb you're so knowledgable about all this stuff. I'm glad we have people like you on these threads. You start start charging for your advice!

I have been temping this month for the first time. Had a significant dip that coincided with the peak opk and then my temps have been high ever since so I'm 100% sure I ovulated on CD12.

I guess it could be something and could be nothing at all, it's just strange as I've never had it before but this is my first cycle after first AF (after ERPC) so it's bound to be a strange one. Interesting re the secondary oestrogen rise too.

Anyhoo, happy Friday everyone. DH has been in touch to say he's treating us to a takeaway curry and bottle of wine tonight with a movie. Lush.

Anyone else have any nice plans for this rainy weekend?

Giraffemama1 · 08/08/2014 14:35

Thanks everyone for the welcome, I guess I am still shocked by the miscarriage as I never thought it would happen to me.

It has not helped that two friends are pregnant are due the same time I would have been :-( but I am very happy for them just sad for myself. I do have my 2 yr old daughter to keep my mind busy.
I am a little clueless with the abbreviations you use so I may be asking for an explanation :-)

BitchPeas · 08/08/2014 17:49

So I caved on the way home from camping and bought a clear blue test.

It's come up pregnant 1-2.

I think I've gone into shock and a bit of denial. I'm a bit scared. DP is so happy and I don't want to ruin it for him. I am so so happy, but I'm scared to be happy iykwim.

Could do with a little bit of handholding please.

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 08/08/2014 18:08

Wow bitchpeas that's wonderful news! Congratulations. You're bound to be scared and apprehensive but try to enjoy he moment.

Congratulations again!

BitchPeas · 08/08/2014 18:37

Thanks oneday Flowers

I'm veering between giggling, crying, and being in denial.

I feel like a bit of a fraud tbh.

Monten · 08/08/2014 19:12

Brill news bitchpeas!!! Amazing news, massive congrats. You're bound to be worried but this is a Good Thing. Am I right in thinking you had a tfmr too?

I second oneday - you give great advice sebs. This is why I love this thread Thanks

Hope26 · 08/08/2014 19:25

Congrats bitchpeas! Take it easy and try not to worry. I know it's hard but enjoy this moment x

DulcetMoans · 08/08/2014 19:39

Oh wow bitchpeas, thats fab news! Understand you feeling apprehensive though but keep positive - you are pregnant! That is something to enjoy and celebrate.

I am on clomid, yes monten but only first month this month. Not sure what to expect. Had a follicle tracking scan yesterday so was looking for advice but might need to hop on a different thread for that one.

Curry night oneday, yay! Burger night here!

Hi giraffe, sorry you are here. We all thought that I imagine - you wouldn't think it would be you. But it had to be someone and unfortunately we lost out. Hopefully you can bring yourself to try again soon.

TerrysNo2 · 08/08/2014 20:17

Hi all, can I join? DH and I officially going to TTC after next AF. Back story is I got pregnant a couple of weeks after coming off the pill in June but didn't realise until I was 6 weeks as I'd had a 4 day bleed (I thought it was AF) at the usual time. I only actually took a HPT after getting 5 days of +ve OPKs in what I thought was my next cycle. Cue lots of confusion along with some bizarre pains and after coercing my doc into sending me to EPU they scanned me and it turned it to be ectopic Sad Sad

They did surgery and removed my left tube and the pregnancy. Doc said we should wait until after my first AF to TTC. I couldn't even contemplate that after the surgery but now it's been 4 weeks and I'm anxious for AF to hurry up!

So hello! Smile

Oh and this would be my 3rd DC as I'm already very blessed with a gorgeous 5yo DS and a beautiful (but troublesome Wink ) 2yo DD.

TerrysNo2 · 08/08/2014 20:19

and congrats bitchpeas!! hopefully I won't get to know you too well Wink Grin

sebsmummy1 · 08/08/2014 20:19

Allthequeenshorses · 08/08/2014 22:09

Daisy, I'm so sorry for you.

Seb, have just laughed out loud at you story of the other night and grabbing by ankles, sorry I am a few days behind. I had similar on Wednesday with peak day and no dh!! Came home about 11pm filthy from combine. Very grumpy me like "do you know what day this is!!!" How many times do I have to tell you, etc etc. hair everywhere, screaming like a banshee, right we are doing it now, his face said it all. Hmm. I'm now blushing thinking about my massive over reaction. What does this do to us.

I'm quite nice normally!!!

Hoping for a positive weekend for all. X

Allthequeenshorses · 08/08/2014 22:11

And congratulations bitchpeas x

Metalhead · 08/08/2014 22:48

I know exactly how you feel sebs! Sad

Congratulations bitchpeas, I hope this is it for you.

Welcome terrys, I'm sorry for your loss.

sebsmummy1 · 08/08/2014 23:15

Thanks everyone, I hope we get lucky one month soon, stranger things have happened!!

Well I think my CBFM has missed by peak this month, I think today is OV day going from the CBFM sticks and internet opks. We are well covered so it doesn't really matter, in fact the last month the CBFM missed my peak I fell pregnant so maybe it's a good omen. I shall see what it says tomorrow but I'd put money on it asking for shucks the whole month now.

sebsmummy1 · 08/08/2014 23:15

BitchPeas · 08/08/2014 23:33

Thank you all of you Flowers Fx crossed for all of you.

sebs you will get a sticky before 2014 is out, you are such a help to everyone else Flowers

I have to call my consultant on Monday to get a scan booked in for 7 or 8 weeks. Bit scary.

I'm not sure I'm quite ready for the ante natal boards yet, I don't really want to piss on their strawberries with my previous sob story and anxiety Blush so if it's ok I'll lurk here giving you all moral support and PMA!! Smile

Jetpackplease · 08/08/2014 23:37

Congrats bitchpeas - hope everything works out perfectly for you this time.

Sebs, got my fingers crossed for you this cycle Thanks
