The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Congrats dontbeblue fabulous news.

LittleMissSnowShine · 29/07/2014 18:51

Congrats dontbeblue! I have 2 boys and I've had 3mcs so I completely understand how hard it is to relax when you are pg, but I hope you will be able to start really getting excited soon. Good luck!

Sorry about the spa sebs -I'm just back from a fortnight camping in France and the only good thing about this endless wtf cycle is that AF didn't arrive while I was away. Honestly the last thing u need - hang in there

Hi ladies, i need to catch up!

We have decided to have next month off ttc due to money/illness/festival and so on. So I shan't be trying til the October bus! :o
We will see how that pans out. I'll still be around cheering you on though.

Just got back. The spa was amazing. Yes my constant knicker watch and mooncup monitoring was a fucking pain in the arse but it didn't stop me from using all the facilities and having a cracking time.

Onward and upward for this cycle. So get my AF is textbook so fingers crossed for OV on cd13 and a LP if 14 days, and a pregnancy too lol!!

sebsmummy1 · 29/07/2014 23:21

*so far my

EnglishGirlsReturned · 30/07/2014 06:06

Glad you enjoyed the spa Sebs!

AF has bloody arrived! Hope this means that despite my positive OPK I didn't actually ovulate because otherwise my lp has gone from 12 - 9 days Shock
Onwards and upwards.....

Treaclepie19 · 30/07/2014 06:47

I didn't mean to put a smiley, was trying to put a shocked face.
Sorry af has come English :(

officelady · 30/07/2014 07:17

Sorry that af got you, English. My cycle has also been absolutely all over the place since my mc. Also I got loads of pre-af spotting which I've never had before. But hopefully this month things are finally getting back to normal. So much for being more fertile in the 6 months after a mc - what a load of old bollocks that has proved to be!!
Sebs I'm glad you enjoyed the spa in spite of mother nature trying to throw a spanner in the works. I went on a hen weekend to a spa 2 months after my mc and although I was dreading it, it was just what I needed - really relaxing and nice to forget about everything even if it was just for a night!
Treacle I admire you taking a month off. Really I should probably do the same next month because the timing wouldn't be great, but I'm always thinking in the back of my mind that I might miss the one good egg I've got left! After my mc I tentatively thought I would ttc for no more than 9 months, otherwise I really feel I am getting too old (I'm 43 now Shock) But the closer I get to my 9 month deadline, the less sure I am. Also it would mean that dh and I would have to sort out some kind of reliable contraception which just seems like too much effort quite frankly. I realise this makes me sound like an idiot. But there you go Grin

Treaclepie19 · 30/07/2014 07:59

Officelady, it's dh's decision really. I know when I get af ill change my mind because I can't bear a month not trying.
It really does make sense for us though.

On cd22 today, still don't think I've ovulated. Also feel like af is coming :/ though the sooner the better really. Tomorrow would be easier as I'm taking my niece to the zoo today :p

Monten · 30/07/2014 08:11

Sorry AF arrived english. At least it is here with not too much delay, CD1 and all that. Thanks

officelady - glad to hear you think you might be getting back to normal! Now you just have to jump on DH.

treacle I completely understand that must be hard but it will hopefully fly by.

Glad you had a lovely time sebs. Sounds bliss.

I have an OPK question (this is the first cycle I have ever used them). I'm using the clearblue dual hormone ones. How many days before you expect ovulation will it give you a smiley? I am four days pre OV if cycle 30 days (it can be up to 35 days). No smiley face this morning which I am hoping is normal. I'm so desperate to see that little sucker! Is it still too early?

Treaclepie19 · 30/07/2014 08:17

Try not to worry Monten, ive had cycles where I had 9 smileys before solid smiley and cycles where I've only had one or two.

EnglishGirlsReturned · 30/07/2014 08:27

Had a massive cry this morning. All my friends are having babies and I genuinely thought i'dbe pregnant by the time my original due date came. Very unlikely now. Unless this cycle is the one. I try to be positive all the time but today I feel very dispondant.

Monten, like treacle says, try not to worry hun. Just DTD eod in case it doesn't pick up your surge.
Hope AF comes soon treacle

LittleMissSnowShine · 30/07/2014 08:30

Sorry about AF english

Month off sounds good treacle, let you enjoy festival and have a few Wine. Then hopefully October will be your month!

Glad spa was good despite AF sebs

WTF cd42 here for me and day 2 on Angus castus. No spotting y'day or 2day, so no idea where AF has gone after threatening to appear for the last week. Something going on with hormones tho, feeling distinctly Angry, esp with DH! Could be pms tho....New yoga classes start Fri eve so hopefully that will help with bad mood!!!

sebsmummy1 · 30/07/2014 09:18

English have you tested? Are you sure it's AF? It seems to have taken me two cycles after mc each time for my cycles to feel more normal.

I'm on cd3 now of cycle 3 post second mc and the bleeding has so far seemed pretty normal. I get (usually) one day of light bleeding, two days of heavy then a few days of spotting. Last AF was weird as it came in with a bang, two heavy days and then nothing after. I knew that was odd for me. So try and give yourself a little bit of time, use your monitor as I doubt it every time and it's always bloody correct!! Massive hugs, it's very common for LP to be short after mc and then correct itself.

Office that sounds very positive. Forget your 9 month deadline, you will only stress yourself out. I feel dramatic every time I get AF and think I'm going to throw the towel in. But I'm certainly not going to go on contraception so I'm not sure how I think I'm going to stop trying! I think whilst we are still ovulating we are in with a shot, so keep having sex, keep hoping and hopefully we will get there xxx

Metalhead · 30/07/2014 09:39

Glad you had fun at the spa sebs despite AF.

Sorry the witch has got you too English. I'm also expecting her visit today, which makes this cycle 37 days. Like you I've only got one more shot at it now before my due date but I think I've already resigned myself to the fact that it's not going to happen. Feeling strangely calm today, maybe I'm getting used to the disappointment Hmm. It's all just a big pile of crap though.

MrsBeeBeeBee · 30/07/2014 10:08

Oh English the idea of not being pregnant by NY due date hadn't even crossed my mind. Can't believe how heart breaking it must be that it's coming up. Really will keep my fingers crossed that this is your month. So sorry AF arrived.

seb glad you had fun at the spa. Hope that's your cycles back to normal now.

treacle hope having a month off turns out to be a nice break xx

I'm now 3.5 weeks post miscarriage so still no idea what's going on or when I should expect AF.

greysar · 30/07/2014 10:32

Metalhead and English, my original due date was 8th August- next Friday. I've pretty much given up hope; don't think I ovulated this cycle although FF app reckons from my temps that it happened on Saturday 26th. This sucks.

MrsBee- no matter what you expect, the WTF cycle will probably have something in store to surprise you- just try to go with it! Smile

EnglishGirlsReturned · 30/07/2014 11:44

Haven't tested as it's far too heavy to be anything other than AF. I hope after this my cycle things work themselves out a bit quicker. Life genuinely sucks at times! Will be back to my positive attitude tomorrow.
Hugs all round to those who need it x

Metalhead · 30/07/2014 11:55

The witch has arrived; if there's anything to be said for her, she's always bang on time. Bottle of wine and Sharknado on the telly for me tonight!

This means my next fertile window will be when we're on hols with all the in-laws, all staying in the same cottage - better hope the beds aren't squeaky...

office I agree with sebs - forget the deadline, it'll stress you out even more! Was there a specific reason why you set it? And what happens when you reach it?
I think you will know when you're 'done'. If I have learned anything in the 2 years I've been trying now, it's that you know when you want to continue or stop ttc. No point fighting that.
So if want a time-out from ttc, why not take it?! It might even help you be clearer about what you want to do... Whenever I have taken a break, it felt sooo good, very liberating. Makes you realise how obsessed you become with everything ttc.

Can you tell I had my first mc counselling session yesterday?! Grin

Tori, if it makes you feel any better I didn't ovulate until after my first period, so you could do lots of trying but actually realise no egg.
