The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

broody I cant see a line on my phone but if you and others can then thats enough proof for me, congratulations x

daisy im so sorry, I echo everyone else can you afford a private scan?

Still no AF and got another bfn Sad

Daisybell1 · 16/07/2014 07:26

Am attempting to catch up!

Cake - brilliant news but it sounds like you've has a testing time, I really hope the next few months are more boring!

Mrs Bee, I really hope you get a negative test soon (the only time I hope you have a negative!). And the same to Dulcet!

Daisybell1 · 16/07/2014 07:32

Hello Jarof, sorry you find yourself here, the ladies here are lovely.

Thank you all re scan. Unfortunately the only place round here that does private scans is very much a vanity place - no internals and no refund if you're not far enough on to see things externally.

I saw a nurse afterwards who tried to reassure me re measurements but only I know how small the growth was (as they didn't have my St Marys measurements). My GP is lovely but she's on holiday Sad

I'm trying to see if inspiration strikes re a location of another scan - may end up doing it in Glasgow when we go for the commonwealth games...

Justonemoretime · 16/07/2014 07:33

Daisy, so sorry local services have been so very unhelpful and unsympathetic. Prof Regan says clearly in her book that reassurance scans and TLC do help. I'd complain if you feel up to it. Are you near London? Maybe go to uclh for a scan at the walk in clinic? All the best.

Daisybell1 · 16/07/2014 07:50

Thank you Just. Unfortunately am a £100 train ride away. I am going down for the harmony test at the FMC, I'm just too far away to go again before then Sad

sebsmummy1 · 16/07/2014 08:06

Oh Daisy I'm so sorry you are worried. Fingers crossed you can get some reassurance soon xx

Broody I'm on my phone too and I think I see a line. You know what you've got to do don't you? DIGI!!!!! Grin

Justonemoretime · 16/07/2014 08:11

Daisy, that's a shame. I'm trying to think which other teaching hospitals there are? Have you had any other spotting etc? that might give another cause for concern? Maybe email Yash at St Mary's and ask her to advise? I really do think that that sonographer needs to be pulled up on her very poor treatment of you. I hope you can get some peace of mind soon.

Broody, I can just about see a squinter on my laptop, but not on my phone. Tentative congratulations to you :) I hope it gets stronger!

Hope, my DH is in Washington DC this week and on Monday night spent the evening on the Whitehouse front lawn in peaceful protest about the plight of those who suffer in Gaza. He tells me that the 'news' coverage over there is very biased towards Israel, with very little mention of the suffering on the other side of the fence. I'm not sure that God himself can do much, but a change of leaders' corrupt justifications for violence based on a limited understanding of religious history would go a long way to broker peace. This is based on power and land, with only a loose veil of religion to justify it. (gets off soap box) You're right, we are very lucky not to have to live in the terrible conditions that some other people in the world do.

Marmaladecat1 · 16/07/2014 08:13

Morning, oh daisy! Fingers and everything crossed for you.

It is time to do a digi broody!

Well it's shit here.
2 bfn's, a new dress that is too clingy and new jeans that are too tight- I've lost weight FFS! And SIL has spread her D&V bug to DH even though I did question whether they were still contagious. Only a matter of time before we all get it.
I cannot imagine I will ever feel better right now :(

broodylicious · 16/07/2014 10:35

effin digi says not pregnant. The bitch! However, I am still feeling rough as poo and it's still early for me to be testing - especially as I've no idea if my cycles will be back to their 28 day ways as they were pre mc - so I'm stepping away from them and will not test until the weekend at the earliest. Feel a bit of a fraud now.... Hmm

sebsmummy1 · 16/07/2014 10:52

well if its a conception indicator one then they are pretty sensitive but if its just a standard digi I think they are 50miu, so not sensitive at all.

Just keep testing and if its a line you will be able to see it very soon xxx

Metalhead · 16/07/2014 10:58

Grrr, my opk was still glaringly positive today, that's the third day in a row now! I usually get two positives, but three?! I thought we'd dtd enough for this month, now we'll have to do it again tonight... and DH was already a bit reluctant yesterday.

Good idea to step away from the tests broody, it might have just been too early to test with a digi as sebs said.

daisy I'm sorry you're going through such a worrying time, fx everything will work out for you.

Marmaladecat1 · 16/07/2014 11:31

I'm with seb digi's not very sensitive. You aren't out yet!

sebsmummy1 · 16/07/2014 12:36

Oh Metal that's a pain in the arse. I hate having sex when neither of you want to, it's torturous lol

DulcetMoans · 16/07/2014 13:23

Oh came in to congratulate but will reserve them for now broody. Digis are notoriously not sensitive so wait it out like you said and heres fingers crossed!

Did some googling yesterday, like you do, some people said it took them 3 weeks to get a BFN after MC. 3 weeks?! Crazy. then I obviously read the stories about the people that never get BFN as they get pregnant straight away... screams

One more leg over then metal, for good luck?!

DH with D&V is a pain in the arse marmalade, but just think, if you get it the dress might feel more comfy! Silver linings and all...

What poor service you have had daisy. I really hope you get some answers soon - get your nice GP back!

Hope26 · 16/07/2014 14:37

Broody got not pregnant on digital and after a few days it said pregnant. Give it a few days and test again, it's not over until AF arrives.

Just - yes the news is very biased and it's a sad situation that in the 21st century these wars are taking place and civilians being killed and some people still live in poverty.

I'm at work and I'm so exhausted! Just want the term to be over. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz even the kids are feeling the same

Hope26 · 16/07/2014 14:38

Daisy I really hope it works out for you. what an awful time to get stressed again but all the best for an early scan

Marmaladecat1 · 16/07/2014 15:32

Thanks dulcet:)
Fingers crossed DH will be better soon!

Metalhead · 16/07/2014 15:46

Bloody Google, now I've convinced myself I've either got pcos or I'll be having twins if I conceive because of this epic LH surge! (Must do more work and spend less time obsessing...)

sebsmummy1 · 16/07/2014 15:56

Oh don't worry I already know my low to peak jump generally means oestrogen problems (which is funny as I always thought I was quite oestrogen dominant and had progesterone issues) and I see lots of advice re. going to the GP (hollow laugh). Or loads if threads re. low to peak resulting in BFP.

It's all bullshit and I can't help but think that if I didn't use the monitor/opks and just had done sex around the middle of my cycle, I might not think I was permanently broken.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 16/07/2014 17:06

Still no AF what is going on with my body?

FB is full of baby pictures today so ive decided to come off of it for awhile, ive also cut contact with a friend who told me to smile because it might never happen, I said it already has and her response was "oh your not still upset about that are you", I was so angry I just turned and walked away, I will never speak to her again.

MrsBeeBeeBee · 16/07/2014 17:08

Dulcet, midwife warned me it could be three weeks for a bfn. Really depends how far along you were and hormone levels. I was around 9 weeks with hormone levels of 39000! So very high which is why I was told it may take a while.

Marmaladecat1 · 16/07/2014 18:04

Oh my word smiling I am absolutely fuming on your behalf! What a bloody awful thing to say!
I'm off Facebook currently. Also curbed my dirt habit of reading the celeb column on the daily fail online.
I just read it was 23 Saturdays until Christmas, just fallen apart thinking I won't be pregnant by Christmas.
Mine is a large white wine this evening :(

Marmaladecat1 · 16/07/2014 18:05

Oh metal :( how annoying. I'm sick of even looking at OV sticks and pregnancy tests. I understand.

I'm still waiting on AF here, day 46! Wish it would just hurry up!

Monten · 16/07/2014 18:46

Hi ladies, I'm back from France, trying to catch up with all the news!

daisy am so sorry you were given worrying news and the lady was a cow. As I understand it, external scans are extremely unreliable for dating purposes at this stage so I have everything crossed that it will just be a measurement error. And bean is so tiny at this stage that 1or 2 mm difference can put you a whole week behind what you think you should be. Hcg is a much more accurate measure. Fx for you.

smiling what a horrible, insensitive, thoughtless thing for your friend to say.

broody I have everything crossed for you! When are you testing next?

just your blog post was great! what an amazing story! But I can see why you reckon someone upstairs has a sick sense of humour, I do too.

After spending the entire holiday convinced I was pregnant I just did a test and it's BFN. Really gutter actually. I was convinced and now feel like a fool. Why would I be one of the lucky ones to get pregnant straight away. I prob haven't even ovulated. Of course after hope's amazing story there's still a small voice saying "it wasn't first morning pee and maybe it's just too early " - arrrgghh!

Can I ask a question? The thing that led me to thinking I was pregnant was af cramps - lots of them. But no period. That was my first symptom with both other pregnancies. I'm a bit worried now. It's been going on for two weeks. Quite strong - feels exactly like af coming. Anyone else had this?

Treaclepie19 · 16/07/2014 18:47

smiling what an awful thing to say.

I feel shit today. Just want to curl up in a corner and cry.
Currently at the in laws. Yay...
