The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Congrats Brummie! I feel exactly the same.

Try to stay positive! Today you are pregnantGrinGrin
Lovely, lovely news!!

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 10/07/2014 13:35

Lovely news brummie keeping everything crossed for you x

Brummiegirl15 · 10/07/2014 13:49

Thanks so much all. I admit, I'm bricking it. I really want to tell my Mum & Dad as v close to them but can't bring myself to.

I had a mc on 23rd May, I was 4+3 - waited one cycle and one AF and then started trying again but I used preseed and the Clearblue opk sticks.

So it's not been long at all. But I remember the doc and all my friends that had mc's and then healthy babies afterwards that you can get pregnant and you will get pregnant.

It's been stressful though , DP has really suffered with inhibited ejaculation as he's really really felt the pressure but we managed to struggle through. He's relieved as he was really started to worry that he was keeping us from catching

EnglishGirlsReturned · 10/07/2014 13:53

Ahhh Brummie, that's lovely. I'm sure this time it'll be absolutely fine. Good luck! See if you can get an early reassurance scan for 6-7 weeks if you can Smile

Brummiegirl15 · 10/07/2014 14:02

Well Birmingham Women's Hospital does have a Early assessment unit but you have to be referred by GP. Alternatively there is a private clinic in Solihull and it's £80 for an early scan.

Am I too early to go to docs and try and get reassurance scan or do I just go to private one at around 7 weeks?

RiverRocks · 10/07/2014 14:09

Hi Ladies,

Sorry I haven't posted in a while - wedding next week so busy planning that!

Congratulations Hope and Brummie! Fingers crossed for you both!

I don't think there's anything to see yet, Brummie. 5 weeks is about the earliest, I think, but if you speak to your GP they should be able to tell you more.

I probably won't get chance to post again before my wedding, but AF is due 3 days into the honeymoon, so if anyone wants to send baby dust my way, I'd be grateful Grin

Otherwise, good luck to everyone POAS tomorrow which might include me if I can't hold out

DulcetMoans · 10/07/2014 15:46

Congrats brummie and hope, I expect any excitement is tinged with fear but fingers crossed things will be different this time.

Nearly a married woman then river, exciting! Sending you honeymoon BFP luck! Will you be taking a pg test just in case?

RiverRocks · 10/07/2014 15:50

I think I may have to! Otherwise, I'll be worried about drinking too many cocktails Grin

EnglishGirlsReturned · 10/07/2014 15:58

The nurse advised me to wait until6/7weeks as at that point try should def see a baby and heartbeat. Going before can cause unnecessary worry.
See if your doctor and see if he'll refer you.

Hope26 · 10/07/2014 16:07

Thank you ladies. I had a D&C end if April, waited for once cycle, for my first AF cd35, then used clear blue ovulation sticks with dual hormone indicator and got a smiley cd16. I dtd a few days before that, on the day of ovulation and a day after and 1 day the following week. I tested like a crazy woman since 10dpo still getting bfn and then cd37 got bfp with clear blue digital. I just told my family and in laws today. They are excited but still keeping calm due to what happened last time. They went crazy with excitement last time so everyone is just being more careful.

For my doc app in 2 hours.. I don't think I'll get an early scan. Just want to go with the flow and not think about it.

MrsBeeBeeBee · 10/07/2014 16:25

hope and brummie congratulations ladies.
What wonderful news. Just what I needed to hear today!! Especially to hear it happened so quickly for you both after mc. You give me hope.
Wishing you a very healthy 9 months ladies xx

Monten · 10/07/2014 16:49

hope and brummie that's amazing news!! Awesome.

Marmaladecat1 · 10/07/2014 16:53

Congratulations bfp gang!

Wishing you a wonderful wedding River
And FC!

Today is the first day I haven't POAS!
I just cannot face it today. Had a really low point last night.
Can't pick myself up today. Very teary, so I reckon AF must be on the cards.

Lou07708 · 10/07/2014 17:40

Ah marmalade it truly sucks, the ups and downs of it all. We have had some good news today. Let's hope it's not long for your turn. Er, and mine!

Foxtrot7459 · 10/07/2014 17:47

brummie I was told after my miscarraige by the EPU that I would get a reassurance scan at 8 weeks the next time.

I also went to a private clinic in Hinkley which did a scan for £50 so may be worth considering depending where in bham you are.

Congratulations

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 10/07/2014 18:30

Hope the Drs appt went well hope I found it very strange that they just believed me and didn't do any tests! Hopefully you'll get an early scan for some reassurance too?

Ladies, can you help me? I've tire googling but I'm going round in circles. Do I treat the day of my ERPC as cycle day one or the day I first got a negative poas. I'm trying to approximately calculate when I might ovulate. I got a smiley face from opk on Saturday but I have no idea if that was because of left over hormones as I've had ewcm the last few days?! So confused and just want my body back!!!

Treaclepie19 · 10/07/2014 18:57

Congrats ladies :)
So happy for you!

Has anyone found their periods after mc have been worse? Ouch :( was up in the night with the pain.

Your erpc was cd1 oneday :)

EnglishGirlsReturned · 10/07/2014 19:09

Oneday, I really wouldn't try to chart this cycle. You could ovulate within days of negative hpt or weeks, or not at all. But good luck with it xx

Hope26 · 10/07/2014 19:15

Thank you ladies. Oneday I really advice you not to go crazy with the testing etc after mc, wait for your first AF so you know your body has recovered and then ttc. I know it's hard waiting but it will save you a lot of headache and heart ache.

Don't give up hope keep at it ladies and the ovk sticks really do help of you have a busy lifestyle

Monten · 10/07/2014 20:52

treacle after my tfmr in Jan my first af was very heavy and painful. Hope it's not too bad, take lots of painkillers.

oneday as English says I think it really does depend, how far along you were and how long hormones take to go down. First time i was 13 weeks and didnt get a period till 7 weeks later. My cycle is 5 weeks so i reckon my body took 2weeks to cotton on. This time i had a negative hpt 5 days after erpc so am hoping it will be sooner. I would be inclined to take first day of negative test as Cd1.

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 10/07/2014 20:58

english hope you speak so much sense but I'm such a control freak I just feel like I have to try to take some control back of the situation. We've dtd twice this week and it's set me off in my obsession with trying to track symptoms, downloading the fertility app again etc.

Hope26 · 10/07/2014 21:14

One day I know it's very hard, I would've done the same to be honest but my husband said no to dtd before my AF arrives and I can't thank him enough as it stopped me from going crazy from day 1 after mc.

I honestly prayed so much, and I will pray you all receive bfp's soon
