Ttc after cerazette

Ok so I have read some real horror stories in respect of trying to conceive after cerazette and thought I would share my story or bore you all with my progress (or possible lack of haha)

So I stopped taking cerazette one week ago at the end of the last packet as me and my partner decided we would start Ttc.

First couple of days I had very light bleeding but felt fine then on the third day I started feeling bloated. To date I am still looking and feeling bloated, feel exhausted and have sore boobs and have been feeling very nauseous.

Has anyone else experienced this? How long did it take for you to conceive?

Thanks for reading :)

I can't see pic very well because I'm on phone but I would defo try another test in another few days, is it an early detector test you used?

Siarie · 11/07/2014 10:08

It was an internet cheapie but so say early. I wasn't expecting to see anything as it's still early but I really does require squinting! Just hoping it's real now. I'll update this evening/tomorrow x

M27J5M · 11/07/2014 10:14

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you :)

RhubarbCrumble1 · 11/07/2014 10:22

I came off cerazette in October and had a positive test in December baby is due in august (can't believe the poor body still works after all this messing about...but it seems it does!) x

newbie1001 · 12/07/2014 06:54

I was on cerazette for 9 years. Stopped taking it at the start of May. One light bleed at end of May then BFP last Monday. I'm about 7 weeks - can't believe it happened so quickly! Good luck everyone!

M27J5M · 13/07/2014 17:53

Siarie...how did you get on? Had my fingers crossed for you

Siarie · 13/07/2014 18:50

So update, I did a IC on FMU this morning and I thought I could see a faint pink like again very faint only visible in certain light tilting a certain way lol!

Did a FRER test and got a BFN just before lunch so not sure what to think at the moment. I think I must be about 9/10 DPO but I've just got loads of EWCM today. I mean literally loads, felt like I was going to find AF down there!

Most of my symptoms have gone today, I had low sore cramps last night and have had them on and off since Wednesday. The only symptom today is my boobs have started getting sore and I can fell slight twinges down there but nothing compared to the last few days.

I really don't know what is going on at the moment, hopefully I'll be able to test in a few days or AF will come. It makes it even more annoying as I don't know if this just coming off cerazette symptoms.

M27J5M · 13/07/2014 18:56

Aww hopefully when you test again you'll know for sure :) I'll yet again keep my fingers crossed for you!

Fairey86 · 14/07/2014 06:23

Update, my AF appears to have started which, as much of a pain as it is, am glad to have some indication my body is getting back to normal post cerazette and has been 28 days since my last pill! Now to get her over and done with to get BDing :)
Our bodies do seem to like playing tricks on us lol good luck to you all and fingers crossed for some BFPs very soon xx

Hi all, best of luck with your ttc. I was in cerazette for years and years, in my 30s and conceived within 5 months of stopping - don't believe all the horror stories.
Did also want to say, I did get horrible pregnancy type symptoms (nausea, metallic taste in mouth, sore boobs etc) after stopping - believe this is really common. It doesn't last too long, fortunately!

Siarie · 14/07/2014 09:55

Fairey I'm going to go with "That's great news" because I feel just like you, if I get AF I'll be just as happy so I know whats going on.

Thanks lovely, after doing lots of reading I'm just assuming my symptoms are from the pill today. If that turns out to be wrong great, if not well that's ok too as long as AF comes!

Someone posted a link to an article that basically explained everything to me last night, we all get symptoms every cycle because of the hormone changes and each cycle is different. So basically you just can't symptom spot, because it could mean anything. That makes me feel a lot better and means I can just logically ignore everything up until testing time :)

Fairey86 · 14/07/2014 10:30

Thanks and exactly!

I hope you get an answer soon!

Must admit will be glad to see the back of AF having been on various forms of contraception since the age of 17 I had forgotten how yuck it really is lol but got to keep positive!

Siarie could you post that link please? Can you still get post cerazette symptoms after your first AF? If so how many months can the symptoms go on?

Fairey86 · 14/07/2014 11:12

Oh no, sheepoverthemoon I really hope not :/

Sheep here you go

www.amandabears.com/faq.html#.U8OywRbd7wJ

The main questions I found relevant are:

What is the difference between progesterone symptoms and pregnancy symptoms, and how long do they last?

Before My period starts I get egg white or watery cervical mucus, is this normal?

Because I've been on the pill for years now I think you feel the symptoms which most women would just ignore. That said I haven't had a bleed yet so I'm not saying I'm not pregnant but I suppose I'm saying that only a positive test is going to tell me that.

Sheepoverthemoon · 14/07/2014 12:40

Thanks - I've had my first af, however I'm getting symptoms (feels different from before my first af though), I don't want to get my hopes up, the clock seems to of stopped waiting to take a test, I keep telling myself it must still be the cerezette

KeeperOfTheZoo · 14/07/2014 12:47

I'm the same Sheep - I've had cramps/pains/bloatedness for a couple of weeks now, and if my cycle were 28 days then AF would be due to day but nothing yet. No idea what my cycles are doing though as not been off cerazette for long so for now I'm just telling myself they are all cerazette symptoms so I don't get my hopes up too much! May POAS on Wednesday though if still no AF....

FX for everyone!

Siarie · 14/07/2014 12:51

Oh my! I think that maybe all the symptoms I've been having are my body starting up after years of not ovulating. Today I got my first dark OPK line so I must be ovulating in the next 36 hours???

I thought I had already ovulated as I had a darkish one and then it went light so assumed I missed ovulation pretty much as soon as coming off the pill (it was a couple of days after).

What do you think? I've uploaded a pic

KeeperOfTheZoo · 14/07/2014 14:06

Looks like a positive to me!

You'll be busy for the next the next couple of days then...! Wink

Siarie · 14/07/2014 14:45

Haha, were DTD every other day and due to do it today so that works out nicely. Thank goodness I've finally got my answer and I should see some temp rises now on my chart.

www.fertilityfriend.com/home/502bfb

I think it's pretty certain that i've just taken ages to really ovulate this cycle based on my chart. So for anyone who has just come off their BC, take it from me. Don't assume that your cycle will be the same, do use OPK tests as seriously how are you meant to know otherwise?? And trust that when it becomes positive it will really be positive.

I'm actually really happy now, I haven't missed my chance of conceiving on my first cycle :) xx baby dust to all!

KeeperOfTheZoo · 14/07/2014 16:36

We're due today too - my husband jokingly moans - "oh no, it's an other day, isn't it??" - I can imagine all DPs sitting at work now thinking the same thing...!" Poor men!

Siarie · 14/07/2014 19:16

Haha! Oh I wouldn't feel too sorry for them, I've been sat with my hip tilted and legs elevated for about an hour now! Doing whatever I can to make sure the max amount of swimmers get a chance.

Here's a tip - one of those big inflatable balls is great for resting your feet on!

KeeperOfTheZoo · 15/07/2014 12:17

Oooh yes, I had one of those for sitting/bouncing around on last time but I think I started using it too late (when my midwife decided DS was "tilting towards back-to-back" at 36 weeks) - he ended up completely BTB, wedged and emcs after 45hrs of trying to eject him!

I'll definitely be using one from the start with my next pregnancy, so might get it out now to rest my legs on! Grin

Siarie · 15/07/2014 12:26

I've got mine to help strengthen my core due to a back injury, I guess it applies to pregnancy too. I've been warned I might be in for some serious aching if I don't keep those muscles strong.

KeeperOfTheZoo · 15/07/2014 17:39

Holy Mother of *!!!

Got fed up with the bloated/crampy feelings, "knew" it was just the effects of ridding my body of the cerazette but thought I'd do a test anyway so I could rule it out and get on with TTC but only got a bloody BFP!

This wasn't supposed to happen sooo quick, was it?!?!
