Ttc after cerazette

Ok so I have read some real horror stories in respect of trying to conceive after cerazette and thought I would share my story or bore you all with my progress (or possible lack of haha)

So I stopped taking cerazette one week ago at the end of the last packet as me and my partner decided we would start Ttc.

First couple of days I had very light bleeding but felt fine then on the third day I started feeling bloated. To date I am still looking and feeling bloated, feel exhausted and have sore boobs and have been feeling very nauseous.

Has anyone else experienced this? How long did it take for you to conceive?

I've also been quite relaxed in my approach however am resisting the temptation to POAS too early

As I was saying, I believe everything happens for a reason and that it will happen when the time is right

Everyone is different, I've seen stories now where it has taken people a year to regain their cycle after stopping cerazette and read stories of women who have conceived within first few days/weeks of stopping so it's clear to say there is no 'normal' timescale for successfully conceiving after cerazette

I think we all just need to enjoy dtd and relax and when it happens it happens :)

When I came off cerazette I got a withdrawal bleed after just a few days and then I got a period 4 weeks to the day I came off it. I followed the doctors advice and didnt TTC until I'd had my first period. Ovulated right on schedule a few weeks later and got my BFP a few weeks after that! So I was very lucky seeing as I had been on it for 5 years. I think its just down to a bit of luck and what your body decides for you.

Hi all - my experience: I was on cerazette for about a year before TTC my DS and didn't have a single period while on it. Started TTC straight away after stopping but didn't have a period for 3 months. As soon as I did, got BFP straight away.

Been back on cerazette since DS was 6wks old (he was 2 last weekend) and just come off it to TTC no. 2. Really don't know what to expect this time round as I have had periods while on it this time. Had a really heavy bleed 2 weeks ago when I first stopped taking it and for the last few days I've been having cramps and feeling bloated and generally bleurgh. Don't know what's going on - ov pains maybe?? Not doing any opks/charting, just DTD every other day so I guess we'll just keep doing that and see what happens!

Here's hoping for a load of post-cerazette BFPs!

KeeperoftheZoo I'm sure things will kick back into action quickly, specially if you've been having AF bleeds.

I'm going to take my OPK's twice a day until I know that things are going back to normal. So far I'm really pleased as when I did a OPK two days ago (while still on the pill) there was no line. This is totally expected as Cerazette stops you from producing LH, but yesterday I got a OPK line! This means that my body has already kicked back into producing the Luteinizing hormone again which is required for ovulation.

So I'm really excited to see if the line is going to get darker over the next few days, my old AF tracking app would expect me to be ovulating shortly. I think a lot of how long things take depend on timing. So because I came off the pill below my old ovulation date (based on my old cycles) it might be that I will ovulated straight away. Where as if I stopped taking the pill next week I would have missed ovulation and would have to wait for several weeks and a AF bleed.

It's just a theory but I will let you know if it happens to be right haha, obviously it depends if your cycles are regular and whether your body has randomly decided to change the cycle dates.

Fairey Is it still too early for you to POAS or have to done it? :)

I could probably do it now but am going to wait until next Friday to test as will then be almost 5 weeks post cerazette! Still getting all the symptoms so keeping everything crossed although my mum is convinced I am already without me even saying anything to her hehe :)

Ok ladies i no i said i was very calm and not stressed and not poas but now with 7 days until i can poas im starting to feel a tad nervous. My moods have been up and down which is not like me although im unsure if this is just a symptom of AF being on its way. With being on cerazette for 7 years i didnt hv any of this to worry about. Just wanted to let go some if this anxiousness. Need to give myself a good talking to.

Loopy I know it's really hard, I'm feeling the same. I want to be able to take a test to find out but I'm not even sure if/when I ovulated. Apps are saying about nine days until AF is due, if that's even accurate.

How are you feeling other than your moods? Do you have any other signs?

Could you maybe have some chill out down time? A nice takeaway and a film or something? x

Siarie..... Ohhh moods are the biggest thing for me at thr minute which is so not like me. Its bad when you no youself that your being a moody cow. Iv also had a bit of heartburn but nothing to scream about. Im totally the same as u, i dont even no if iv ovulated but my app says poas in 6 days now. I did take my temperature in work yesterday and it was slightly up than normal but to b fair the weather is really muggy and im a nurse innthe hospital were they feel the need in summer to power boil patients and staff so i could be just wishful thinking. Time will tel i suppose. Just crossing fingers for no AF to make an appearance. Sending baby dust your way.

Well this is my chart so far, I've no idea what it means haha. My other app thinks I should of ovulated around CD13 - CD18.

Oh I should add I stopped taking cerazette CD12.

Hi, I have found this thread really helpful.
I came off cerazette may 20th, after a few weeks my boobs were really sore, very heavy and swollen. I had my period quite heavy for three days in 22nd June and all problems went away with having a few mild period cramps.
I started ttc after my period, two weeks later and I started feeling really nauseas all the time around meals, putting me off my meals (I love my food), I'm tired, my boobs r tender and aches but different from before.
I worked out that if I have a normal cycle of 28 days (but haven't had a period for 10yrs previous) then my ovulation wouldn't actually of started until 2ndjuly, and I can't do to test until 4 days before my estimated next period - 16th July. I'd love these to be symptoms but I just think it's too early and it must be the cerazette doing this, any advice on working out when to test when only had one period? Thanks

Hi Sheep, hmm I would go with the standard 28 day cycle as it's your first AF. Do you think you ovulated on the 2nd of July?

I've just been on it as I just stupid (I know) POAS at 8DPO and I wanted to see what other's who did that got. I swear I can see a very very faint fleck of a line but I'm not sure if it's just an evap.

Just a quick update, not sure what exactly is going on with my body anymore lol! Experienced stomach cramps last week and yesterday had some brown spots (sorry if tmi) wasn't anything major and was only when I wiped I noticed it so wasn't enough to warrent a pad or anything! Been waking up in the morning full of a cold which seems to disappear quickly soon after I get up as well and still experiencing nausea, fatigue and lower back pain and still very emotional, coupled with acne and major bloating :/ confused!

Fairey I think you aren't crazy, I'm about 7/8/9 DPO I'm not sure as I didn't get a positive OPK as I think I didn't do them often enough. But going by dates anyway.

And so far:

3/4 DPO - Increased appreciate and cramps
4/5 DPO - Cramps, frequently need to wee, food tasting weird.
6/7 DPO - Cramps, tired, BFN but faint line possibly, food tasting weird, aware of smells, no longer hungry
8/9 DPO - No cramps anymore, nausea, bleeding gums, aching feeling though instead of cramps. I feel drained and low on iron, short of breath I know i'm not anaemic though as I have that monitored regularly and take iron. BFN, things still smell weird, not hungry.

I just have this feeling, I hope i'm not wrong as I will feel at a loss.

Fingers crossed for you! I also have a feeling but still think I'm going to stick to testing next Friday! I was breathless this morning as well which isn't like me although I've drastically cut down on my smoking as when I get my BFP I know I will stop altogether maybe sooner as I'm really determined this time :)

I came off Cerazette about 10/11 weeks ago, got light spotting after 6weeks which lasted about 2days, must have ovulated as normal afterwards tho as I've just found out I'm 4 weeks gone! Good luck

Hi M27J5M, congratulations on your sticky bean! Can I ask whether you had pregnancy like symptoms while coming off Cerazette? Lots of cramping (not AF cramps), pulling, nausea, headaches (everyone has those I think)?

I didn't have any symptoms at all when I 1st came off it and tbh last week when I started getting sore boobs I kinda assumed that it was just symptoms from coming off pill but then when I started getting sicky and really tired, felt hungry constantly but after 1 bite was put off food I began to think that something wasn't right and it wasn't pill, took a clearblue digital and it said negative but I wasn't convinced, used 1st response and super drugs the next day(3 in total) and all 3 had a faint line! Wasn't actually ttc so was a little

done some investigating before I came off pill as it was sending me loopy and lots of people have said they get pregnancy symptoms at time of af for a few months but from what I seen it was only with people who were on it a long time!

Oh that's really inspiring as I've been have really weird symptoms, I have come off the pill before and never noticed anything other than a migraine for a few days.

This time I've got all the symptoms of being pregnant, I'm going to be really annoyed if it's just the pill. I took a test this morning and I think I can see a faint line, posted in another thread so waiting to see if I'm crazy or not. But I would only be about 10DPO maybe 9 as I'm not sure when I ovulated.

Congratulations though, although it wasn't expected I'm sure it will be amazing :)

A line is a line :) no matter how faint but test again in a few days to confirm :)

You are so sweet, it's so faint I'm not sure if i'm imagining it. Let me show you, I have all the symptoms though and i'm tender down there so fingers crossed eh?

If it is then it will get darker, I just think I'm being a bit mad it's so faint. Sometimes I'm not sure I can see it, then other times I'm certain there is something there.

It's too early I think to tell :)
