Oh, but Tiger - that is a tough one. My own inclination would be to go for the interview and see what happens. Dim question, but have you tried visualising that positive phone call and how you would react? Can you see yourself sitting at your new desk on 1st August (or whenever) and knowing, I have this job, but it will be Xmas before we ttc again? How would,that feel?

I did imagine getting the job after the first interview. I was very buoyed up by the experience at the first one and I hadn't even thought through that I'd have to stop ttc. When I did realise it was like a kick in the stomach. I'm usually fairly good at putting on a performance at interview, and I have form with turning down jobs (no regrets so far though).

barking this is true - I have no hobbies. I spent over three years working all hours then the last two moving, renovating a house and doing a masters. I need some sociable and active things to do to keep me sane. Glad you had a good birthday weekend!

Yes but have you imagined not taking job and ,being devil's advocate here (and not being offensive) , carrying on ttc fir 4 mths and still not being pg? But know exactly what you mean re having to stop ttc bring a kick in the teeth. What about carrying on ttc anyway or would you be really miffed losing out in maternity benefits? Good advice from rp

rp it should give you hope! It was proper bleeding with pain, al the stuff they say is bad news so....!! Best of luck for tomorrow, hopefully you can update a but quicker than I did.

Tiger I'd say the same as Bushy and RP and maybe continue through, then make your decision when it is offered in the meantime, think about a hobby you might want to do?!

tiger I think go with your gut instinct on the job front. Even if you go through the process and then turn it down. It's always worth seeing how far you get with these things.

beaky I'm trying to be positive! but terrified something will go wrong. Wondering if I should have more symptoms/worrying about everything, but just glad it's in the right place and that it made its way through my manky tube. Still can't believe it. Re thyroid - totally think you should push for your results or have fresh tests done. Mate of mine was ttc for four years and just about to start IVF when she finally asked for results. Turns out she has something wrong there, they put her on some drugs and she was diffed withing a couple of months. She now has two kids.

The "My time will come" mantra got me through a lot. Glad some of you thought it was a good'un. It stopped me from bursting into tears many a time. Should have mentioned it on here ages ago! It was from Lucy the Rainbow lady.

All I can think about is cold roast potatoes that are sitting on the kitchen bench right now. I may have to attack them.

Morning nolly!

I've withdrawn from the interview process after a long night of thinking about it. The lifestyle (travel and long hours) is just not what I need right now. I just don't think I could spend a day interviewing for something I'm so unsure about with any conviction. I applied on a whim out of frustration but it's not the right move for me.

Right, time to leave that decision in the past and focus on the future!

tiger Glad you found an answer. It is a difficult one, but as someone with a long hours and lots of travel job, you aren't missing much, I promise! I get cold sweats thinking what I would do if I have this mythical baby and then to go back to work afterwards...

Anyone free to give me a massive wang this morning please? Facebook was saturated with pictures of proud daddies holding babies yesterday and today and I had to turn it off in the end. And DH and I are picking at each other since the FC appointment last week so I'm starting to wonder if this is really all worth it. Arrgghh!

I had a fab birthday yesterday, genuinely spoilt rotten so feeling pretty chipper today despite the witch being due some point today. Screw you witch! You can't get me down this month.

otters I hope you're feeling a bit better today. What a shock that must've been. There's no right or wrong way to feel about those situations, you just have to let it run its course. I hope you're friend is a good one who will keep shtum so you get to enjoy your wonderful hen and wedding without worrying about her trying to get in the spotlight.
