Hi, I'm not sure if theres already a thread for those hoping for a +ive October. I'm on the +ive Sept one but my fertile window for this month has just passed without being able to try (got to get blood sugars stable before we can try) so next chance to try will be towards end of September (32ish cycle), which means I won't be in a position to test til October. If theres already an October thread please point me in that direction, if not, here we go!

Smiling Kiwi - Goon on ya!

D2bmum - I am still awaiting the fateful day too. AF due on 23 but in past have waited at least a week after...so we should be testing about same time. Am struggling not to imagine that my boobs are fuller than normal and that every little twinge is pg related!

Hey ho....we'll see.

Keep smiling.

cityangel · 17/10/2006 09:39

Hey desperate2b. The 2ww is horrible. I am trying to fill it up with DIY. Bought much needed carpet yesterday and we are planning to decorate the living room in 3 weeks after work!

I also don't test until 1 week after AF due date as this causes montly disappointment for us. Although this month I may have to test earlier as I throwing a party for my Mum's 60th with 40 people in our flat so will fancy the bubbly big time!

I am CD22 but I am guessing I OVd later than you (on CD18) so I think AF is due after 28th of this month. So a week after you and RH.

I was very low at the weekend because my chart is all over the place and could possibly suggest annovulation. I am annoyed that I wasn't more disciplined in doing OV tests.

On Saturday I went out with my friend who is pregnant with her 4th and her dh told my dh she is seriously depressed. I had no idea you could get depression in early pregancy I only really knew about Post-natal depression. Does anyone have any ideas what we can do to cheer her up?

Good luck to all left on October...
Looks like I'll be the last one left on again!

Cakehead · 17/10/2006 10:45

BFP this morning! Faint line, but definitely there. AF due this Thursday, so did early test. And I thought this month had been a write-off as I'd been abroad for work while ovulating. That before-the-plane BD must have worked! Some little blighter managed to hang on for a couple of days! Very excited but sitting at my desk in composed manner...
Baby dust to all!

Natty1806 · 17/10/2006 11:18

Excellent news, big congrats from me

RH · 17/10/2006 11:46

Cakehead that's fantastic - now wondering if I should do early test too!!??? This is driving me demented!

Seriously, seems a positive month so far so fingers crossed for us remaining few.

Cityangel - so sorry to hear about your friend. Most worrying for me is to hear that only her husband is talking about it. Is she 'internalising' it herself? Sounds like she desparately needs someone to talk to. Do you feel comfortable raising it with her?

Cakehead · 17/10/2006 12:33

Yes, fingers crossed for everyone else.
RH - I'd been determined not to test early but I had a dream last night that I was pregnant so jumped out of bed and ran straight to the loo this morning. The line is faint but certainly there. Still puzzled over quite how it happened this month. I can only put it down to lying with my feet on the headboard for a good half-hour afterwards. Perhaps there's just something in the October air? If there is, I'm wishing everyone bundles of it.

cityangel · 17/10/2006 13:07

Hey Cakehead v. happy or you

RH, It?s a really difficult one as they don't live near us. Doing it over the phone is possible but I don't want her to be embarrassed because her husband told us.

We should get her family over for a roast.. so maybe I will try and arrange that, but its quite a trek into town for them and their 3 sons. Perhaps I should suggest MN to her.

I will do some research? I am guessing the hormonal changes can affect some people in extreme ways as normally she is v bubbly.

It's soooooooo hard not to test early? but I am too early (10 days away from AF) Good luck to all about to test

I read that cramping could be a sign of implantation and slight bleeding (neither of which I have) but it?s hard to work out when implantation is meant to be? 6 - 12 days after OV?
Having never been pregnant it's hard to expect what it would be like. Apparently some people have no symptoms at all.

The BFP positives are giving me hope. Admittedly I have only been ttc for 3 months. My Mum took ages and I'm worried I took the pill for too long. We are planning to go to the doctor in Jan for advice.

PinkButterfly · 17/10/2006 13:12

I've just tested early too and have a faint(ish) positive line. This 2ww has been killing me and I've had some really positive symptoms for days now (same as when conceived ds2). Can't quite believe it. AF not due until Sunday/Monday and I'm only 9/10 dpo. Tested ++ 10dpo with ds2 though.

Everything well and truly crossed for many more BFP's for October!!!

RH · 17/10/2006 14:33

Pink Butterfly - That's terrific. Congratulations!

Cityangel - I understand what you mean. I think MN would be a great idea. For someone who is usually so positive like your friend admitting that they are depressed can be even harder (sense of failure/guilt and all that!) so the anonymity of MN would be a good starting point.

Good Luck!

PinkButterfly · 17/10/2006 14:41

Thanks RH. A bit terrified that because I have tested so very early that AF may still appear though hoping my early symptoms mean my wee bean is nice and strong! Fingers crossed she stays away. xx

Cakehead · 17/10/2006 14:42

Cityangel - I did have an implantation bleed on Saturday, which is why I tested early. At first just thought AF was early, but was very light spotting so seemed odd. Then I genned up on implantation and most say that if you had a bleed, it would be 10 to 14 days after conception. I had mine on day 21 of a 28 day cycle, and I'm guessing I conceived some time after day 11. And yes, not cramps as such, but general tightening up. Hope that helps. Good luck.

desperate2bmum · 17/10/2006 15:00

good afternoon everyone

cd22 today and stomach been aching all day and felt v.sick this morning even worse after breakfast...and have been heaving at the smell of oranges. this is the most amount of symptoms i have ever had before a/f am thinking of testing tomorrow and i really would like to know by friday even though a/f isnt due until saturday as i have such a social weekend ahead.

hope everyone else has had a good day,,,

PinkButterfly · 17/10/2006 15:04

Sounds v. positive desperate2bmum - I would use the first response test which should give you an accurate result on Friday if AF due at weekend (always worked for me as I am so impatient!).

Fingers crossed for you.

MrsMcJnr · 17/10/2006 15:07

congrats cakehead and pinkbutterfly! october sure aint over yet is it!

couldnt help myself and did an ebay pg test this evening at 5pm ........BIG FAT NEGATIVE!!! [SAD]

muminthemaking · 17/10/2006 18:58

Hello everyone and congratulations to those who have had PFP's.

I'm depressed this month, have been doing clearblue digital ovulation tests since CD11, now on CD18 and have not had a positive. Had EWCM around days 13 to 16 but now it's dried up? What does that mean? Have I not ovulated this month? Usualy get a postive ovulation test around day 15-16 :-(

Think I've missed this one..... oh well... here's to a positive in November....

RH · 17/10/2006 19:48

Thanks for all the baby dust guys - basking in it as I write.

D2BMum don't worry about that negative result too much - I tested negative a couple of days after AF was due when I conceived my DS and here he is coming up for 3!

Any one got any thoughts about the most reliable tests? I saw Pink Butterfly used First Response. I have always used Clearblue in the past and found them mostly reliable (see above). I do look at the 'own brand' ones though at half the price and wonder whether they are worth a try.

Cakehead · 18/10/2006 08:59

I've used First Response and Clear Blue and got correct results with both. And I think own brands are just as reliable. Basically the own brand makes just analyse and copy the Brand Leaders, so you're not getting anything less than you'd get if you bought a 'name' as such. It's exactly the same science behind it, but cheaper. Wishing everyone a nice surprise by the end of the year... xx

cityangel · 18/10/2006 10:46

D2BMum big buddy hug... symptoms sound good fingers crossed. I have bought the Clearblue Digital one to try this month, but won't be testing until after AF is due in 10 days. Here's hoping we get a double buddy one.
