Hopefully we'll see more BFPs on this one!

Ladyboluna · 03/08/2014 07:59

I'm cd8 and my CBFM is still reading as low. So from now it's earning it's keep as it's disagreeing with the FF app I'd been using. I'm worried my luteal phase is going to be short now because my cycles are normally only 26-28 days. What does anyone think about it?

Dtd only once so far this month as we have family stayed over, but hopefully that doesn't matter as Cbfm hasn't got excited yet lol.

Nonconformist34 · 03/08/2014 14:08

Hello lovely ladies,

Sorry I've been AWOL for a bit. Good to catch up with you all and see where we're all at. Good to see the ball is finally rolling for those needing referrals. Hi to all the newbies too!

We have our first appointment at the hospital tomorrow (eek!) so will fill you all in when we get back. Can't believe it's finally here, was slightly hoping that we would have to cancel it be caused we were finally successful but never mind.

Lindsay - We celebrated our 6 year Wedding anniversary on the 2nd of August too! We had a lovely meal out celebrating last night plus I ovulated yesterday, woo hoo!

lildottie · 03/08/2014 16:38

hi everyone. just back from a week camping. glad to see some good news for you Vic. sorry to hear sad news for nord. gl for appt tomorrow non.

I ovd last Saturday when we were at campsite in a tent with my mum so only DTD on the Thursday before we left. not holding any hope for this month! no next appt on the doormat when we got back. hoping we'll hear this week if not I'm chasing end of next week when it's been 4weeks since seeing consultant.

xBlueberry88x · 04/08/2014 14:19

god I lost you all for a bit then couldnt find the thread.

lil dont blame ya for not dtd lol not the best of situations.

Non good luck at your appointment!!

Jesse I had a HSG a couple of weeks ago and was allowed to ttc still she actually said it was for the best.

Had my hopefully last day 21 blood tests today so no more appointments until the 2nd gynae app in sept just gotta keep trying to loose weight which is not working out to well, but then I know im ovulating so him putting it down to weight is wrong.

Nonconformist34 · 04/08/2014 18:54

Well, just got back from our first fertility appointment today which went well.

The consultant was really chilled, was expecting loads of questions about our sex life but wasn't even asked! Wanted to do an HSG next week but we're on holiday so have arranged it for when we get back. The results of that will determine if we go for a laparoscopy or treatment begins.

We're entitled to three rounds if IUI then only one round of IVF. The treatments will start as soon as my next cycle post HSG so will be around October. Can't believe it's happening so quick! He told us it keep trying in the meantime too.

Quick question for anyone who's had a HSG. The nurse that books it didn't mention about having it done before ovulation/start of cycle and booked a date. I've worked out it will be 2dpo so I presume that it will flush the egg away that month? Should I change it to the start of my cycle?

Lauraqc · 04/08/2014 20:48

Great news Non that it's all happening! I'm watching with interest as we have our first hospital appt on 20th Aug too. What does HSG stand for? I've seen others have it and seems fairly intrusive but not entirely sure what it is??

Blue I need to lose weight too which is going ok on this low GI diet - I figure it can only help, not harm so keep going!!!

I'm eagerly taking ov tests daily this week to see if good things repeat themselves after af last month - I really can't face another 7 months of being the great barren woman!!

Nonconformist34 · 04/08/2014 21:12

Laura-HSG stands for hysterosalpingogram. Basically,an X-ray of the uterus and tubes.A dye is injected into the uterine cavity, they take X-ray pictures which will show any problems. Good luck for the 20th!

Lauraqc · 04/08/2014 21:27

Ah right ok i've heard of that procedure just didn't know the name! Seems that a few people on here have had +ve results after one of those so fingers crossed!

I'm weirdly looking forward to the 20th (but secretly wish it'd just happen before that and we won't need to go!) and it's coming up quickly which is exciting!

lildottie · 04/08/2014 21:59

the latest I read hsg being done was cd12 but each clinic is different. can you phone and ask them if the date you've booked being after ov will be a problem? nurse may have thought consultant talked to you about dates and vice versa

cooperG · 05/08/2014 07:37

Morning ladies, good news non, you seem to be progressing quickly :) when I had my hycosy they told me it had to be in the first two weeks of my cycle, I think the procedures are similar, maybe different areas have different ways though. Might be worth phoning them to check, it'd be a shame to miss a month (or at least that's my slightly mental take on it!)

Ladyboluna · 05/08/2014 08:55

Hello everyone, I was very excited this morning as I got a 'high' reading on my Cbfm.

Dp is not safe tonight. Wink

blue - don't worry too much about weight. When I saw my gp about my early MC he said the only advice he'd give me would be to continue taking folic acid. I am overweight (16-18) and he could easily have said something.

I think it may only be a problem if periods are irregular as a result. Of course they say being in prime health should help but that's not true for everyone who gets pregnant.

victoria401 · 05/08/2014 10:31

Exactly lady, here we all are taking all sorts of vits, special diets, cutting out caffeine and having acupuncture when malnourished crack heads and alcoholics are getting preg all the time!

Great news non things are moving quickly now! I've also heard you have to have hsg around day 10. Sounds like you have the same 'allowance' as us, 3xiui and 1xivf. Urgh. I wish we had 2xivf I'd feel there was more of a chance then. I've read that if your first cycle fails they can adjust the drug regime for round 2 to try and make it more successful. But if you don't get a 2nd cycle?!?

I'm waiting impatiently patiently for a date for my referral. They said 'early next week' when I called them on Friday as they were currently writing our letter and it would be in the post that afternoon. Everytime I post a letter within the city it arrives the next day! What is so different about nhs post? I know it's all 2nd class but still! I live 4 miles from the hospital and less than a mile from the royal mail sorting office (which is midway between my house and the hospital). God I sound desperate and obsessed! Me? Really?

Metalhead · 05/08/2014 13:03

I totally agree vic, just read some where today that about 100 babies a week are born addicted to heroin, and you think how can their mothers get pregnant but not me?! It just doesn't make any sense.

Great news that things are moving forward for you non, and vic I hope you get your letter through soon.

ginger I am still considering the option to go private but will wait until after this cycle and then talk to my GP first. He has been fairly sympathetic in the past so I'm hoping I can persuade him to get us some initial tests done.

My emotions are a bit all over the place at the moment, I keep swinging from one extreme to the other. At the weekend I felt really sad as we visited DH's cousin and her DD played so nicely with mine. There's four years between them, which is the age gap we were aiming for initially, and it was just so hard to see what could have been. But since we've come back I've kind of resigned myself to the fact that we might never have #2, and have decided to stop obsessing about it. Having said that, this new relaxed approach probably won't last very long if past experience is anything to go by...

xBlueberry88x · 05/08/2014 13:47

Hi Ladies,

Laura well done with the diet im just exercising and not eating anything to bad.

Non good to see everything is moving quickly. I had to have my Hsg between 7 and 14 days I think it was.

lady normally I wouldnt worry but hes specifically asked me to loose a couple of kgs and I dont want him to refuse help if I havent done it.

Vicky I agree its so unfair that some people get pregnant with out trying. I hope the letter turns up really soon I hate waiting for anything.

Metal It is hard, I have some months where I just cant deal with anything. I feeling quite positive this month which is rare but only because I know im ovulating now.

8 or 9dpo for me today and feeling mega sick barely kept my breakfast down and just ate lunch and feel the same. Mega sore boobs to.
Setting myself up for a fall again arent i booo

GingerbreadBabyPlease · 05/08/2014 14:06

Oh my gosh Metal I Know just what you mean. I am exactly the same and I am driving myself crazy with all of these up and down emotions, and I am obsessed with finding out age gaps between siblings and how they get along. I can't concentrate at work, I have no interest in any conversation and DH and I are not getting along at the moment. I am just sick of this, I want to stop obsessing over all of this all of the time!

vic that is a bit annoying that you have to wait on good 'ole royal mail, bet you wish you could just march into the hospital shout your name and say someone tell me when my appointment is!! I am supposed to be going for a scan this week, but had no app letter through so god knows when it will be. 3 IUI is a good shot though? Will they supply you with all the drugs before you go for IUI or is that only with IVF? At least you will of had a few goes of fertility treatment before your IVF so they will know what they are working with. FX it won't come to that of course!

The healthy eating/crackhead thing makes me so angry all the time. I saw a woman smoking in the park the over day, a kids park, and she was about 6 months pg. It's just plain ridiculous.

Congrats on the high Lady and lucky DP! Wink

Gosh a few of you are moving along quickly! Fingers crossed for you all, and we will definately be seeing some lovely BFPs very soon I think.

jesse that sounds like a much more sensible way to do it, I wonder why not every hospital does it that way. Good luck for this month!

Blue glad you are feeling a bit more positive this month, but stop SS! Drop and give us 20!!

AFM my DIn-Laws arrive on Sunday for a month, so don't think we'll stand much chance of DTD this month Hmm

xBlueberry88x · 05/08/2014 14:40

haha Ginger Im terrible the last couple of months ive felt nauseous at this time but never to the point I felt like id actually be sick.

Wow a whole month lol dtd will be a bit hard haha

Metalhead · 05/08/2014 14:56

My next fertile window will be when we're away in Cornwall ginger staying in a cottage with DH's parents and his brother, wife and two kids! But I've already warned DH and it will not stop us! Grin (Though it might turn out we only manage it a couple of times when I get my +opks, but that should still give us a good chance.)

Fx for you blueberry, I can never stop myself from symptom spotting though I have to say even the most convincing symptom usually means absolutely f-all for me.

Lindsay81 · 05/08/2014 16:23

I am popping in because I see a few of you talking about weight and I hate to see anyone beat themselves up over a few kilos! We have enough to worry about without this- I'm not saying go out and eat a family bag of Revels but you know what I mean!
I am a size 6 - 8 (5'6", around 9.5 stone) and you know my story so size is definitely not critical to TTC, unless it affects your periods I guess. I think it is one factor in, what I am starting to believe, is a melting pot of a bazillion and one other things that need to come together in the right order at the right time.

Want Revels now.... LMAO!

lildottie · 05/08/2014 22:31

I need motivation on weight loss too. I'd done so well and had lost 9lbs but I've now put 11lbs back on. I'm not quite overweight but I'm now the heaviest I've ever been. I want to try the low GI but don't know where to start. any pointers ladies? it doesn't help that dh is always scoffing!

Vic bloody appt letters. still waiting for mine. at least you know yours was being posted. when will you give it until before you chase again?

blue hope the sickness means something for you, but try not to fuel the crazy! what will be will be.

lady is this your first month with cbfm? if it is don't be surprised if you get ALOT of highs. although if you have average cycles you should be OK. I have 32-38 day cycles and have had over a week of highs before and first month was worst. enjoy the shagging though

Ladyboluna · 05/08/2014 22:38

lil this is the first month and day 10 of my 26 day cycle, hopefully won't be too long as I worry if my luteal phase is too short.

We're both enjoying rutting like teenagers Grin.

Ladyboluna · 05/08/2014 22:43

Also regarding weight loss - I lost half a stone on slimming world. I'm usually about 12.5 stone :S but I'm a size 16-18. My weight hasn't changed for a year but I do need to lose some. Just I comfort eat too much.

Lauraqc · 05/08/2014 22:54

Lil I bought the low GI diet book and cookbook off eBay v cheap and getting my head around it. A quick version would be lots of fruit and veg, along with granary seeded bread, and wholemeal stuff instead of white. Even wholemeal brown bread is no good! You could do a little search on Google for low GI foods and then compile a menu from that - I found that easier than looking up different foods each day! Some stuff you expect to be bad isn't and vice versa! Good luck!

Blue we'll all be on crotch watch with you...!

Just had row with DH and now not talking...not doing much good for dtd tonight...! Also nowhere near showing +ve on opk as yet so hopefully won't make a difference. Bloody moany sod. Still, he did get me a Mulberry bag yesterday for my birthday back in June so he's not all bad!

Countdown to his as test next week!

lildottie · 06/08/2014 07:52

I'm assuming he's having an sa and not an ass test Grin

just googled low GI and omg! weetabix is high GI! and shredded wheat medium! how! lol

I thought I was doing OK with switching my cereals, eating wholemeal pasta and brown rice. I don't eat much bread so that ones OK. hmmm must try harder.

I'm also trying to stop buying stuff with sugar listed as an ingredient. or sweetener.

Lauraqc · 06/08/2014 08:21

Hahahaha definitely sa test!!!! Altho last night when we weren't talking I could've booked him in for an ass test which he'd have passed with flying colours! All is well again today though!

Yep surprising isn't it? White jasmine rice is lowest GI of all the rices which I didn't expect, and stuff like chocolate is actually medium GI although obvs high fat...it's really working for me though, I feel full and feel like I don't need to snack which is usually my downfall. Will stick at it as a healthy lifestyle change and any lbs dropped is a bonus!

As I say I found it easier to be armed with a list of low GI foods and just devise meals from that - you can't go wrong with turkey/chicken/fish with veg, fruit and salads!

Lauraqc · 06/08/2014 08:24

Lady 'rutting' hahaha brilliant word! Got David Attenborough in my head describing like wildebeest or something (not that you resemble wildebeest!!)
